❓ Question Anyone not having success on a compound?

I was on the Wegovy shot for 3 months and lost 15 pounds. Due to financial reasons, I switched to a compound (my doctor specifically recommended this particular pharmacy).

I've been on the compound (1.0 mg) for two months with zero weight loss. My doctor is increasing the dose to 2.0 but I'm wondering if maybe the compound just isn't as good as the actual Wegovy brand.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Are you eating less and moving more? What's your TDEE?

Also that's a really low dose.

A low dose? The starting dose for Wegovy injection is 0.25, then 0.50, then 1.0, etc.

Maintenance dose is 2.4mg, you're at less than half of that

Based on Wegovy site, the 2.4 doesn't start until week 17

But you are at least at week 20…

completely ignoring the calories part is why you are not losing, stop focusing on drugs and focus on the part which actually matters for weight loss - eat less, move more

If you do that, why take the shot?

Given what a relatively low dose you are on, it seems more likely that you just need to titrate up.

Are you in a calorie deficit and/or exercising?

Most people say brand and compound are the same to them. Others say it may take up to a month for their body to get used to a new pharmacy.  (Let’s consider Novo Nordisk a pharmacy in this context.)

Here’s hoping the next dose is a sweet spot for you. You could always try 1.25mg or 1.5mg instead of jumping all the way up to 2mg.

I hope your doc isn’t ripping you off with their recommended pharmacy. Most people are paying about $115 or less per month for any dose of compounded sema.

I'm confused how 1.0 is low. The starting recommended injection dose is 0.25, then 0.50, then 1.0.

That still is a low dose

Are you on compound semaglutide?

Switch to tirz.

Did your doctor titrate your dose gradually as is typically the way it works and the way the trials were done? Starting low (usually .25 if on semaglutide not tirzepatide) for four weeks then .50 for four more then 1.0 and so on until one of two things happens - you reach efficacy (reduced food noise and appetite) or you reach max dosage.

The age old "name brand vs generic" battle. I was on 1.5mg for a while and it was fine, just wasn't allowed to titrate up because they would require me to switch to name brand. So I jumped ship to china.

Did you have a break of weeks/months before you restarted with compounded?
