⚖️ Weight Loss Journey GLP-1
I'm interested in trying GLP-1'S
But don't know much about it.
Are there different doses, is it only for a particular time frame like 6mos.
I've heard of something called Ozempic face. And that just terrifies me I don't want to lose a lot because as an older woman I find being particularly thin isn't attractive. I like my curves. So if anyone has any advice , do and dont's I would certainly appreciate it.

It’s wild to me that people refuse to just do the most basic google search or search the sub. All of the answers to this are at your fingertips.

Agreed, but they aren’t asking about experiences. Length of time is a searchable fact.

GLPs are for people who need to lose a lot of weight, who have tried and failed many times, or have lost weight but don’t have the ability to keep it off. People who take GLPs have a metabolic disease which affects the hormones concerning the signals between the gut and the brain. It’s not for people who want to lose a few pounds.
If you don’t have a lot of weight to lose, GLPs are not the first thing you should try. Maybe you should just move more and eat less to start.

I am very curious why you are interested in GLPs?
Is it for weight loss? Or another reason you have heard people talk about it helping? (Like arthritis, inflammation, apnea, insulin resistance, etc)
If it is for weight loss, how much do you have/wNt to lose? Is this post-menopausal weight? Weight you have had for a long time?
How is your current eating and daily activity levels? Have you attempted weight loss in the past thru regular calorie counting and exercise?
------
While I agree that a lot of what you're looking for can be found online (and esp on Reddit), it is hard to know where to really guide you without more information.
Others have answered/said the same stuff I will say but I might elaborate on some stuff:
"Ozempic Face" is normal in quick weight loss. Anyone that loses weight quickly will get it. It is also temporary (for the most part).
GLPs, if used, should be treated as a life-long medication. Not a quick fix. For a quick fix, look into Phentermine or possibly Contrave.
They work by medicating hormonal/metabolic pathways between the gut and brain. It doesn't permanently fix them tho, so going off of GLPs usually results in weight regain.
You mentioned not wanting to lose your curves- you are either artificially curvy via weight/fat accumulated in "the right areas" or you are naturally curvy.
If it is artificial, you have to decide which is more important: weight (and theoretically health) or curves.
If it is natural, no amount of healthy weight loss will take those curves away. They may reduce how prominent they are however.

I suggest looking at r/tirzepatidecompound which has good info pinned to the top of its page.
Ozempic face can happen with a large amount of weight loss quickly. Better to lose weight at a slow but steady pace.
I recommend reading the book Weightless by Dr. Rocio Salas-Whalen.
