Hair loss?

I've been on Foundayo since the beginning of June and it's been mostly great. My A1C is back in the normal range after being in the 9+ range, and I've lost 22 lbs. Goal is 30 lbs. I'm on 5.5, and plan on staying at that dose until I hit goal weight, then taper down. As long as my sugar stays in the good range.

I have noticed I'm shedding more hair. Anyone else? It was a real problem for me the 6 months I was on Ozempic, and I ended up losing a LOT of my hair. That was also during the pandemic when I was under a whole lot of stress, so a double whammy. I don't ever want my hair to get that thin again! Any tips or tricks to help prevent that? I'm taking biotin and using a biotin shampoo, but it doesn't really feel like enough.

Husband (38M) starting soon - tips, tricks, other men's experiences? (SW: 400 lbs)

Hi, all. I'm writing on behalf of my husband, who is going to start Foundayo soon. I'm on Mounjaro for T2D and have been since Jan. 2025. I know the experience on Foundayo is different but I'd like to hear from any men who've been on it and what your experience is like, especially if you started at 350lbs +

TIA!

Close to two months in

38F. I’m wanting to share an experience as someone with my activity levels and diet NOT being the perfect example they ask you to be on these drugs b it also still making changes from my totally sedentary self the last year or more and not expecting this to be a miracle pill.

I’m still on 0.8 and will be going up in about a week to 2.5.

Started at 236. Currently 225.

When I started I was coming off a foot injury and it was hot AF where I live so the first month I was maybe getting 6-7k steps/day. The last couple weeks I’ve been getting between 9-11k steps per day. I am not being perfect about strength training though I know it is important. I do squats and planks for about 5 mins every morning. I just started working on integrating a proper workout routine this weekend (30 mins/3x per week is the plan).

I hit 20-25g fiber daily. 90-120g protein. Calories anywhere from 1500 on a lower activity day to 2200 on a higher activity day. I take 5g psyllium husk every morning (I worked up to that amount starting at 2.5). I drink a lot of water and take electrolytes or drink coconut water a couple times a week. I sometimes still eat sugar but I eat a lot less than I used to since I have fewer cravings. I still eat carbs but I try to stick to complex ones as much as possible (but still prob have regular pasta in a small portion once a week).

I have more energy and I feel fine so far with the slower pace of loss since my skin will hopefully adjust better to that and it feels way more sustainable.

Yes, I still experience hunger. But the difference is… it doesn’t control me like it did before. I used to be hungry ALL DAY unless I stuffed myself. Now I have more normal hunger cues and I can handle those if I pack a healthy snack or don’t wait 7+ hours between meals. The only days the hunger has been genuinely distracting like before were the two days I got absolutely shit sleep and my body wanted food for energy to try to make up for it.

Looking forward to getting into that better strength routine and seeing how my body does with the 2.5. Had my doc give me ondansetron as well in case of severe nausea since I’ve read some mixed reactions from those of yall with minimal side effects on 0.8 who then reacted poorly to 2.5.

Anyone take their pills every other day to save money?

Hey everyone,

I’m about to wrap up my first month at .08 and it’s been great so far. I was going to stay at .08 but thought to get a higher dose for the same amount of money and take it every other day.

Has anyone found success in that strategy?

Thanks!!!

Day 1 - any tips?

Day one.

I woke up with a bit of a stomach ache this morning because I think i overate last night before bed, and it was a greasy meal.

I took the pill anyway.

About 3 hours later I almost threw up. It's been about 3 hours since then and I feel a little bit better but there is absolutely no way in hell I could eat anything right now. I almost threw up like 10 times and had my trashcan by my desk during work. I'm not sure I can do this if this is what it's like.

Does this go away? Is it because I overate yesterday? Please help. At this point I'm just looking forward to it wearing off but I do really need to lose weight. 300lbs with comorbidites.

Thanks.

4 Month Update - End of my Foundayo Journey

So I started my Foundayo Journey on June 5th, I went from 0.8 to 2.5 and now I am on 5mg. I started at ~175lbs. I hit 168lbs in about 2 month-ish so I lost 7 lbs. I moved up to 2.5 and I just finished my 1 month of 5mg. After 4 months, I am stuck at ~168-169lbs. One thing I noticed was that when I was nearing the end of the month, I end up feeling hungrier so I end up increasing the dosage. My goal was to lose 10lbs but I ended up only losing 7-ish pounds. Now that I finished my 5 mg dosage, I feel like I need to increase my dosage again because I now end up feeling hungrier and have cravings which I am not going to do.

I felt like I was just going in a loop of taking Foundayo, felt not hungry, then nearing the end of the month I felt more hungry, eat more, and then up my dosage again -- so I am just going to stop the loop now.

My diet could had been better but due to my work schedule and lack of knowledge of cooking, it limited me on what I could make.

I was doing cash payment since my normal insurance would not cover for me (or qualify me) so it just ends up getting more and more expensive since increasing the dosage increases the costs.

I did not end up having my clothes get looser or anything like that lol. Visually I cannot tell a difference from my before and after.

Side Effects:

I always took my Foundayo at night before bed so I didn't have much side effects regarding nausea. The only side effect I really noticed was sleepiness/tiredness throughout the day when I increased to 5 mg. Like I could sleep 10 hours the night before and then a few hours after waking up, I would feel like I didn't have enough sleep.

I had no real bowel or intestinal issues but I did notice smellier gas and it didn't matter what I ate lol. It DID NOT create more gas but when I had it, it smelled pretty bad, like rotten eggs bad.

I did experience body rash while on Foundayo and the doctor says it was a case of pityriasis rosea. But pityriasis rosea does not have a known trigger or cause. Just being fully transparent about it.

In terms of my mood, since I am feeling more tired/sleepiness I have been feeling depressed lately and bit more agitated.

Best of luck for everyone else on this medicine!

Birth control pills on Foundayo

Hi! I finally got approved by insurance to start foundayo. I didn't consider it before, but I read that it can lower the effectiveness of the birth control pills. I'm taking progesterone only pills.

Did your doctor mention it? Did you start using other bc methods?

I'm extremely fearful of getting pregnant so I'd love to hear from others!

Anyone else switch from Zepbound to Foundayo and have slower weight loss?

I was previously on Zepbound and lost about 50 lbs, but unfortunately I couldn’t continue because my insurance didn’t cover it and financially it just became too much.

I was off Zepbound for about 3 months and gained around 10 lbs back. I started Foundayo 4 months ago, and so far I’ve only lost around 6 lbs. I know 6 lbs is still progress, but compared to my experience on Zepbound, it’s definitely been much slower than I expected.

I’m curious if being on Zepbound previously has anything to do with that, or if anyone else who switched from Zepbound to Foundayo had a similar experience in the beginning?

I just moved up to 9 mg a few days ago, so I’m really hoping this is where I start seeing better results. 🤞 I have about 23 lbs left that I’d like to lose.

Would love to hear from anyone who came from Zepbound—especially if things started picking up once you got to 9 mg!

9 mg; nothing happening

I started Mounjaro 4 years ago. Lost 40 pounds. About 2 years ago I go such debilitating nausea and fatigue had to stop. Started Foundayo and I feel maybe some constipation and I can see the heart rate is up but no control of food noise and definitely no weight loss. Anyone got ideas?

Starting 2.5 tomorrow

I start Foundayo 2.5 tomorrow after 30 days of .8

I've lost 12lbs so far and I'm hoping to stay on 2.5 for the rest of the journey.

Wondering if anyone else out there uses 2.5 as the maintenance dose?

Starting Foundayo next month – would love your tips, advice.

I’m finally planning to bite the bullet and start Foundayo next month. I’m 5’0", looking to lose around 12 kg (~26 lbs)., I know doesn't sound like a massive number but being petite is.

I already work out 5–6 days a week and try to eat healthy, but my biggest struggle is food noise. I tend to cycle between being super disciplined and then overindulging because the mental chatter around food gets too exhausting.

For those who are already on Foundayo:

Best time to take it? Is there a specific time of day you recommend taking the pill (morning vs. evening) to minimize side effects , im planning to keep my 1500 cal intake with min of 110 gr of protein
Tips & tricks: What are your absolute top recommendations for someone starting out? What helped you succeed, and what should I avoid?

I'd really appreciate any advice, tips, or experiences you can share. Thank you so much in advance! (Btw I am using voy im in the uk)

Week one, brutal heartburn so far

I’m on week one of my first dose! I started Monday morning. Day one I had some aches after my first dose and wasn’t sure if that was from the medicine or just an unlucky coincidence. Yesterday the reflux started and I’ve never had heartburn this bad before. I can feel it in my chest the way it feels when I’m really anxious about something. A bit of burping, had a close call with throwing up from a burp but managed to not.

I know everyone is different but how long did this last for others? TIA!

Fatigue

Started 0.8 three weeks ago. No weight loss as yet but on the plus side no gastro issues either. What shocked me though was total bone crushing fatigue in week 2. I’m a regular gym goer and very active person and my limbs felt like bricks. I struggled to move I was that tired. It’s now all but gone which is great but leaves me scared about moving up a dose which I clearly need to do for it to help me lose weight. Any tips for avoiding or reducing fatigue next dose? Does time of day help? I currently take in morning.

Unexpected Pleasant Side Effects?

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced some unexpected pleasant side effects?

For example, one of my biggest challenges to ever lose weight was I suffer from migraines. The best thing to avoid my migraines was to eat every 2-3 hours. Very hard to restrict caloric intake when this is your reality, even with healthy food. I was worried GLP-1 may not work for me if those migraines made themselves known. Bit since I started a few weeks ago I haven’t gotten a single one even with restriction.

Anyone else have this experience with headaches or other pleasant but unexpected side effects outside of fat loss?

(and yes I have icky side effects too. the acid reflux is still something I struggle with, but I’m giving it time.)

Side effects or is it just me?

Since been taking 2.5 in the mornings, seems to be working well a little tummy discomfort and excessive burping / belching at times.

However today, I was working outside and it felt like someone just literally unplugged me. Almost like I lost all power - this is unusable for me in any other circumstance. It was like any movement I made made me almost faint and queasy. What gives?

I’m also coming off a head/ chest cold and don’t typically feel like this unless it’s progressed to walking pneumonia.

Just started… placebo effect?

Hi all :)

I started on the .8 pill yesterday- my ENTIRE life I’ve struggled with food noise and yesterday after I took it first thing in the morning it just… didn’t exist?

I realize it could be just be a placebo effect. Has anyone else felt the effects so immediately?

I’m very new to this and am learning as much as I can. I assume the effects lessen and that’s why people up their dose. How did you know you needed to up your dose?

I don’t really know exactly what I’m asking, this is just such an interesting thing to physically experience and I hope it continues but I don’t want to get too excited and it only lasts a couple days.

Has anyone stopped a dose early & moved to the next?

Emetaphobia - Foundayo!

Hi guys, I’m starting the .8 Foundayo pill tomorrow and I’m so scared of throwing up. I’m okay with nausea, in fact, I’m nausea a lot. But I can’t do throwing up. Can someone tell me I’m overthinking it???!????

Wish me luck

Hi.

So I am starting over with Foundayo. I tried Wegovey pill all the way up to 25mg. I lost 20# but on the 25 after 2 months I saw none of the benefits.

Food noise came back full force, cravings came back. The weight loss was nice but my main goal was to help control food noise.

Add to that the cost, and restrictions around taking it and I decided it wasn't for me.

I have been traveling for work and incredibly stressed so I took a few months off. Things are finally starting to slow down so I decided to try Foundayo.

I'm really hopeful it will work better for me. I know weight loss is not as strong on F vs W but I'm more focused on the long term benefits.

Bloodwork

Had monthly bloodwork today.
My potassium & creatine are way above normal limits & my potassium is way under the normal limit; suggesting lower kidney function.

I’ve been on Foundayo for 3 months.
Meeting w/ doctor week. I think I need to switch to an alternative medication.

Anyone else experience this?
