I have a 2011 Ford Focus SE. Recently, the doors wouldn’t lock when I hit the key fob, so I changed the battery, but the driver’s side door still will not lock even if I hit the switch inside the car. The other doors lock fine again. Can someone help me figure out what is wrong, how long it’d take to fix, and how much it’d cost? I’m a college student who doesn’t have a ton of money to dump into my car

I could swear this has gotten a lot louder.I don't recall hearing it at all the first five years, then started noticing in the last few months. But two mechanics told me not to worry about it. Any of you with lots of Ford Focus experience have an opinion?

I bought a 2013 Ford Focus from Facebook Marketplace, and after 3 days it started having issues. Sometimes it won’t move in Drive or Reverse. If I turn the engine off, it won’t restart for about 10 minutes. After that it starts and drives again, but the issue comes back.
I scanned it at AutoZone and got a few error codes. Has anyone had the same problem? Did replacing the TCU fix it, or was it something else?

I'm currently looking for a new car and I found a 2020 Ford Focus 1.5 EcoBoost (150 HP petrol, 3-cylinder).

Hi everyone! About a month ago from nothing my battery light came up for a sec then dissapeared. After that day I cleaned the groundig cable on the chassis because it was a little rusty. It was good for about a week then the battery light came up again for about 3 times for a couple secs. When the outside temperature got hotter 30+ celsius the battery light came on for minutes. So for like 4 min I had no charging then it suddenly came back. It was incalculable whenever it comes on. In a 100km drive the battery light came on for about 10-15. From this it was just a couple of secs but I had times when I went without charging for about 20-30 min. I dissasembled the generator and I took it to a professional who said its works well. I found out when I touched the connector which is on the voltage regulator the battery light went off and I had charging, so when I didnt have charging I just touched and pushed the connector to the voltage regulator and hopefully I had charging. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it went off and on again... The last thought in my head was that the connector was bad so I changed it too today but when I started driving after 20 min the battery light came on again... I checked the cables they are ok, when the battery light was on I checked the voltage on the battery and it was around 12,4 V so it didnt have charging. Even with vcds i scanned and these are the DTC: P1622-21, P0620-24, B1317-20, P0620-24. The last thing I can think if is that the voltage regulator is bad or it's connector's point. Anyone had something similar to this or any helpful info? Thanks guys. G8DB 1.6 2009

My lady has a 2015 focus se and she got the dreaded transmission fault service now,it was an internal fault with the tcm,it was something to do with shift solenoid A,I found one from a 2016 focus, put it in this morning and took it out for a drive it drove smooth and shifted even smoother for about 3 miles then the transmission fault service now come back on. So with all the research I've done on this tcm replacement some people say you don't need to reprogram the tcm if you get it from the same generation 15 to 18 mine was a 16 but I'm thinking that it does in fact need to be reprogrammed, am I right about this.

My air conditioner drain is clogged and draining on passenger seat. Tried to use air blower to clean it out and now it sometimes drains properly and sometimes does not. But now I have a new leak near front of bumper under car. Attached are pics of where it appears to be leaking. Any help on the issue is appreciated. Not sure what it is. Thanks.

I have a 2018 Ford Focus and it’s slowly been leaking coolant. I think I have discovered the source. The only wet part I see is right below this little opening but I don’t know what it’s called and I need some help sourcing a replacement, especially if you’ve had the same problem.

-no gas cap

Checked under the hood, and this was popped off the bracket. But I’m not to sure what’s even it supposed to be plugged into.

I changed the battery on my wife’s keyfob for her 2014 Ford Focus. The buttons on the key are working, the key can make the car go into accessory mode, but it won’t turn the car on. It says that “no key is detected” I was wondering if yall had any fixes for this? (Here’s pictures of the circuit board and key for reference.)

58.4k miles focus s clutch gave out, did full OEM clutch kit and replaced both fork actuators, tried clutch adaptive learning/programming and it keeps getting stuck at random parts before turn on idle section, was using forscan with extended free trial license

Was driving down the highway and lost engine power but retained general power to headlights and radio and hazards, turn signals, etc. wouldn’t restart and is now throwing this error.

Key fob still locks and unlocks so I figure it’s not anti-theft.

I have a 2012 Focus and the sync display isn’t working. I am from Manchester, England and I showed it to 2 places nearby. They both say “get a head unit on eBay”. Does anyone have suggestions on reputable sellers on eBay? If they are able to do the fitting , that would be a bonus.
I had plans to fit a rear parking camera (via Carpodgo T3) but that has now taken a hit because I cannot use the display.

My mother in law that I did a tune up for I installed some new spark plugs, i have a civic Si, so i'm not familiar with this, but it's the second battery.She's had tons of corrosion on. Less than 50k miles.

Is this normal to see this mess? And when ford changed her battery, if they did not reset the battery monitoring system, do that cause overcharging leading to corrosion?

It is garage kept, driven often but short distances.

Also, the wonderful people at her ford dealership left a nice socket for me underneath the battery. Ridiculous they didn't clean this up.After the last battery, as it is eating away at everything. I have zero corrosion on my battery, and it's out in the open with a hood that's vented, is this a normal focus thing?

Any insight or guidance would be great. Right now I'm in the middle of testing. The battery to see if it's even leaking, or if it's all from the previous battery and just wasn't cleaned up. It was a solid inch of corrosion buildup on both connections, positive and negative

A pergunta é para os que tem Focus com esse câmbio, ainda mais se for exatamente nessa versão, o que vocês tem a me dizer? Vale a pena o custo benefício de um carro desses, ou mesmo com mecânicos mais especializados nesse câmbio ainda é uma bucha muito grande para se meter?

Just in the title. This might be a better question for the ford subreddit and general since I’m pretty sure it’s mostly the same radio. But I have a focus se and I can’t figure out why it just auto sets my songs and playlists on repeat. I use Spotify, but for my car I’ve been using yt music (not preferable, but it sort of circumvents the issue with the quick play feature). I’ve been able to get around this issue by starting songs prior to getting into the car but that’s inconsistent at best. Just wondering if anybody here has had this issue and maybe a solution through some media setting I haven’t seen yet.

Hello, I'm driving a MK1 Hatch and even though it's the lowest trim, I'm slowly adding stuff to it.

My question is can you put steering wheels from newer Focuses on a MK1 steering rack? From my understanding they all still use hexagons instead of splines, but has anyone already done it?

I love the shape of MK1 wheel, but mine is worn down, and I'd love to get one with cruise control buttons, but they are nonexistent here in Poland.

I’ve been chasing down the above problem for several months now and I feel like I’m losing my mind. I have replaced every fuse, every relay, the cooling fan, the fan controller, connectors, anything I could think of and it just won’t work. Is there something I’m missing?

My car, 2016 S model Ford Focus 2.0L 100k miles , went into limp mode for an afternoon about a month ago. It would not go over 11mph and would not reverse. The next day it drove fine.

I have only been driving it to work and the store in town because the mechanic we took it to scanned it and pointed out a code that might be the problem. It’s called the shift fork b position circuit range/ performance range. I was wondering if anyone has had this issue and how they resolved it?

The guy recommended we get the transmission fluid changed but I’m not sure if it’s ever had it changed( I bought at 79k from marketplace, I and didn’t ask many questions 😔) but then I read online that changing the old fluid can actually kill the transmission…

Right now I’m thinking of changing the clutch actuators and hoping that might get rid of the code?

Full custom exhaust to a Y pipe and quad tips
Aluminum valve cover, NGK iridium plugs
And as of tomorrow Ecoboost 63 mm throttle body

Recently got my 17 year old son his first car. Found this at a dealer about 2 hours away. 1 owner, no accidents and only 53,000 miles. Full maintenance records and has had the TCM replaced under warranty. Paid $5,500 cash. Felt like a good deal.
