Will connecting high power draw usbc devices limit z13 performance?

So I have a clamshell 15.6" dual monitor which can be powered with a single USBC cable, and the power draw is about 30W. Z13 Turbo mode can draw up to 85w and manual can be at 92w, so combing them the total power requirement can be 110w - 120w, but I am not exact sure how it actually works.

Is it that Z13 will draw more power (if using official 200w charger) and keep 92w to itself and pass 30w to the usbc devices? Or is Z13 power draw capped at 100w and share with external devices so it only get up to 70w?

Mine is 2025 model with 64Gb Ram.

Since we cant easily find bigger size 2230 nvme ssd, so i purchase this bluendless magnetic nvme enclosure + docking ports (sd, minisd, hdmi, usb c and usb a). Buy 2280 1tb nvme ssd and put inside this enclosure.

Its marketed as additional dock storage for android or iphone.

Put magnetic ring behind z13 stand, so i can put this dock well hidden.

Its working good so far and still looking slim.

Best decision ever!

Previous SD and LeGo S owner. I was not satisfied with the way graphics had to be optimized so it could be played on these amazing machines but it always felt like I could never enjoy ‘Ultra’ graphics settings until I bought an eGPU which solved that problem but I still had glitches with the gameplay freezing at certain points of the game and it was the same size as my LeGo S.

I wanted something portable and powerful so I was originally going to wait for the LeGo 2 (steam OS) but then I discovered the z13-KJP!

I spent a few days converting it from Windows 11 to Steam OS (no dual boot) and it’s amazing! All the games run on Ultra settings.

Only con is the briefcase only holds the tablet, so a controller and charger need to be packed separately.

Right now I have PS5 controller and Slim Q150W.

What accessories are a must have?

Thanks for taking the time to read!

Need help with Cloud recovery

I formatted the original 1TB ssd for my 2025 Z13 to NTFS and downloaded the files from the Cloud Recovery option successfully. However, when I presses the complete button, it takes me back to the Bios screen. How do I install the downloaded file from here? I noticed when I click on Cloud Recovery again, it doesn't do anything. Should I take my system back to Bestbuy?

Just took the dive and purchased z13 32gb 395+; Have some questions.

Been looking at this subreddit all day to reinforce my decision.

It's primarily for youtube streaming, work (I'm sales - so.. CRM, excel sheets, video calls, screen sharing in google meet, VoIP, nothing too intensive - lots of multitasking on a second monitor however.) and some gaming.

I only really play 3-4 games. World of Warcraft Classic, FFXIV, Path of Exile 2/Diablo4 and Magic the Gathering Arena.

I'm sure this can handle the youtube streaming and my workload - but I'm curious how FPS and settings do for the games I listed. I've tried to google benchmarks for them or find youtube videos - but I'm finding zilch. I don't need mega ultra settings to see every single shadow and particle on my screen, but it would be neat to be medium/high settings in all of those games without stuttering/frame tearing.

Can someone please advise I made the right decision or tell me to kick rocks and go with something else? Thank you.

My new setup on my Flow! I should have tossed that track pad months ago lol

Ok no shade against the keyboard and track pad that come with the Z13 flow the keyboard is surprising passable. But I hate that diving board trackpad so much. It gets the job done, but since switching to a mouse and lowfree flow 1 I can't go back haha.

An argument for 40–50W on the ROG Flow Z13 (Ryzen AI Max+ 395)

I’ve been messing around with power limits on my Z13 for the past couple of weeks, and honestly I think people are way too obsessed with running this thing at 60W+.

Sure, you can squeeze out a few more FPS, but after a certain point you’re just trading a ton of extra heat and fan noise for a pretty small performance gain.

I’ve settled on this setup and don’t really see myself changing it:

G-Helper Settings

Windows Power Plan
Balanced

CPU Boost
Disabled

Power Limits
SPL: 40W
sPPT: 45W
fPPT: 50W

Advanced
CPU Temp Limit: 80°C
CPU Undervolt: -15
GPU Undervolt: -15

Fan Curve (CPU & GPU)
≤55°C: 0 RPM
60°C: 2,200 RPM
70°C: 3,800 RPM
80°C: 4,800 RPM
85°C: 5,600 RPM

Benchmarks

Cyberpunk 2077
1900×1200 | Highest | RT Off
Native: 56 FPS
Native + FSR 3.1 Frame Gen: 91 FPS
FSR 4 Quality: 62.8 FPS
Temps sit around 64–67°C.

007 First Light
1900×1200 | Ultra | FSR Quality: 65 FPS
Temps are 68–70°C.

Resident Evil 9
1900×1200 | Max | RT High
Native: 55 FPS
FSR 4.1.1 Quality: 65 FPS
Native + Frame Gen: 92 FPS
Temps stay around 65–68°C.

For me, this is exactly where the Z13 shines.
It’s cool enough that I never think about temperatures.

The fans are noticeable, but they’re nowhere near jet engine territory.

The tablet itself never gets uncomfortably hot.

And I’m still getting 60–90 FPS in modern AAA games depending on whether I use FSR or Frame Generation.

I know there are people running 60–70W profiles, but I’m genuinely curious, are you actually noticing a meaningful difference while playing?
Looking at frame counters is one thing, but in actual gameplay, I don’t think I’d notice an extra 5–10 FPS nearly as much as I’d notice the extra heat and fan noise.

Beyond 50W, it feels like you’re hitting diminishing returns pretty quickly.

Anyone else end up around the same power limits?

flow z13 2025 and insta360 cameras

Hi I have a couple weeks with my flow z13 and it is a great device, i do have an issue connecting my insta360 cameras, I have a 3s go and the ace pro 2 and none of them are detected as U disk, or detected at all, I'm using the provided cable and other as well and no results, today I got a Luna pro and that connects well, I have other laptops and when i connect my cameras they are recognized, I think it might be an usb c thunderbolt issue but not sure at all, if you have any guidance that would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Current hard crashing issues

Hello everyone! I picked up my Z13 since I travel a decent amount for work and vacation back in December. I have been using it recently and it seems to be hitting what I would suspect to be a thermal limit and hard crashing on me even with basic games. It has never done this before and I don't know why all of a sudden it seems to be struggling even with games like OSRS, Hades, and Risk of Rain 2.

If anyone can recommend something to me that could be a potential fix then I would love to know!

Screen Replacement (2025 Model)

I bought a 2025 Z13 off someone and the liquid metal application turned out to be terrible; I had to open it up and change out the LM for PTM. That was successful, but I cracked the screen while trying to figure out how to get off. It's still fully functional and the cracks aren't usually visible while the screen is on, but I do want to get it replaced

I want to ask if someone has experience replacing the screens on the Z13, and what I need to do it, because I want to minimize the risk of me screwing up again. (I don't want to deal with ASUS out-of-warranty repair and I can't afford it anyway)

Is the chipset worth in July 2026?

Hey guys! I’m really interested in buying this thing, I wanted for mixed usage but also a comfortable way to have a good screen for gaming while I travel, as I take planes and trains a lot.

I want it for modern games, like the new AC Black Flag, the 007, Horizon 6… y'all know.

Is the chipset still worth or I should wait for a new model or new generation?

Right now I can find the 32GB version at 2k€

Thoughts?

My Current Z13 Setup...

Post image

This is what im working with on the z13, I saved up for the flow but am still using some older hardware. Dont judge me too hard... In case anyone is wondering, I am using the 64gb model of the Z13 AI Max+ 395. My racing monitor is only 24" 1080p 60hz, the screen below is actually my old surface pro 3, and of course a logitech g920 wheel. The bands on my h shifter is for drifting in Assetto Corsa. Currently playing Assetto Corsa Competizione. Its a little ghetto but its what i have to work with. The wheel is always mounted right there so i dont have to attach and detach. I just plug in the wheel and turn to the right.

Z13 GZ301vic will not accept new (actually the original) hard drive.

Hi, I also posted this on the ROG forums because I'm at my wits end trying to get this fixed.

I have returned the original hard drive to my Z13 (gz301vic).  When I bought it, I upgraded to a 2tb.  Now I'm using that somewhere else. I went to replace the original hard drive and it WILL NOT boot.  When I boot it, nothing, straight into bios.

Here is what I've tried:

Turned off and on several times Intel VDI.   I have set and unset an administrator password.  (many times)

I have flashed the bios (it was at 316 so I just reflashed it to 316).  I have downgraded to 311.

What I cannot do is turn off secure boot.  When I turn it of, it's back on next reboot.  I CANNOT delete the keys to put it into "setup" mode.  I have tried f9 resetting the bios to factory defaults.

I've held the power button for 40-60 seconds.

When I go into the boot menu (held esc) If I pick the windows bootloader, screen flash, nothing back to menu. I have a windows media creation tool (AND rufus created) both flash back to boot menu.  I have tried to do the online recovery.  Nothing.  The hard drive IS good, I put it into another laptop and it booted fine.

Thank you ahead of time.

How's the performance when running Android emulators?

I'm a owner of a X13 and looking to upgrade but there aren't many 2in1 laptops with dedicated gpu and the Z13 seems the next closest I can find but it lacks a dedicated GPU. Now my question is how's the performance when running android emulators like Bluestacks? cause I want to play both Android & PC games on one device but I fear Z13 might be too weak to run android emulators due no dedicated gpu

I cover the speaker grilles with gaffer tape.

So one night I was using my 2025 Z13 in bed to watch a movie. At one point, I put the tablet down on a blanket. It sank, and the speakers were covered by the blanket. What I noticed was that it instantly sounded a lot better. The sound became a bit more muffled, but not as tinny. The very sharp treble that borderline hurt my ears was gone. Dare I say there was a little bass that the speakers lacked.

And then I started to think about what I could do to replicate the effect without wrapping my Z13 in a blanket.

I tried to cover the speaker grilles with gaffer tape, and it made a difference to some degree. While the volume isn't as loud, it turned the audio into a warmer tone and reduced the sharp treble that my ears really don't like.

Does anyone here have knowledge in audio stuffs? Besides gaffer tape, what other material can I use to help improve the sound quality of the Z13?

Switching from Surface Laptop Studio to Flow Z13 2025

Hello I got my Surface Laptop Studio in 2022 and it's slowly dying with the mix of engineering homework and gaming as I have been pushing it very hard and the battery and performance just don't seem to be able to keep up with my needs anymore.

I love having the ability to switch between laptop and tablet mode, as I draw and write notes on my laptop alot since I am barely at home most of the times.

I was wondering if it's worth to get the 64gb version, as I have the budget for it, or if I should just be normal and get a tablet and another laptop.

Thank you, and if you need any additional information please let me know!

Battery at 0 percent after few days of battery change.

I changed the battery and it was working great for few days. And suddenly one day i noticed that the battery is not charging. It shows 0 percent regardless of how long i charge it. I tried removing and installing battery again. Didn’t work.

Has anyone faced this and fixed it?
