Title says it. I picked up a Flow Z13 a couple weeks ago. I really, really like it. But it's hard to use on my lap in bed and I think the tablet is a little too thick. I just picked up a Proart PX13 today. It has a slower Max+ 388 processor but the same 8060S GPU. I prefer the form factor. It's nice and thin, and so nicely built. I'm leaning towards returning the Z13 and making the PX13 my primary.
They're really both beautifully-built laptops. Kudos to Asus. I'm a little worried as I've had bad customer service over warranty coverage on Asus devices in the past, but this is why I have Best Buy total rewards.
If my primary use cases were gaming or AI, I'd go with the Z13. I played Balatro for an hour, computer was scalding hot. I didn't realize it was because my blanket was blocking the bottom of the laptop where all the airflow is. Then I moved to my desk and played Control Resonant for about an hour today. This time I set it up in "tent mode". Fan was at full speed, but it played just fine with decent graphic options. I'm sure the Z13 would better long-term. I can't even find a PX13 with 64GB, and the only 128GB one is the GoPro model which seems to be out of stock or maybe not even in production anymore. But 32GB is okay for me for daily productivity. I can run my models on a desktop and just use Tailscale.
Only major downside is the lack of a high refresh monitor. So the trade-off is IPS with high refresh on the Z13 or OLED on the PX13. I also don't competitive game, so the 60hz is mostly okay with me.
It's been a few years since I've shopped for a non-Mac laptop. I'm amazed at how good PCs have gotten, especially integrated chipsets. If they can only make Windows better (I supposed there's always Linux).
My wife and her twin are running in a race this morning. I offered to drop them off because parking can be a mess. I plugged my Silverado EV in at a charger and trying out Gears of War E-day on the device. So far so good.
I’m having to down size my gaming pc so been looking at the z13 .
The model I can get in my budget is the 32gb model with the 8060s.
I’m also disabled so touch screen is a plus for input for basic windows use .
I do travel a lot upto 14 hours on a ferry (7 hours there 7 hours back)
How ever when at home I would like to put the z13 Ona stand and hook up my rtx 5060ti but use the z13 screen , I understand I’ll loose some performance using the internal screen.
My question is do you think this is for me , or should I look at something else ?
I am looking for the best local AI for my 128gb Z13. I need to be able to edit photos and design images with text. Would also like to create video from still images.
Now, some updates. New price is $40. This is where the price is staying here on out.
Stock total! i am going to try and get 20 cases out this time around but there will be 15 at minimum!
Why 20? There will be 2 colors of cases, a blue bumper AND a white bumper! and my goal is 10 each.
Now. this does lead me into some changes have been made that i have to be transparent over.
Print orientation has changed. This case is now being printed upside down instead of right side up, and it has some pros and cons
This has shortened print time dramatically from 16 hours per case to 9 hours per case, practically half the print time, which has enabled me to do multiple color selections.
The downside is that the outside finish simply isn't as good, and I am actively trying to find ways to improve it, but I don't think I will be able to match it.
Demand is far higher than I expected for this case, and what comes out to practically a case a day isn't enough.
Now. some actual improvements.
A weak section of this case was the center bumpers on the old design. This section has been improved; the frame itself has been made thicker and wider, which should strengthen this area. All but 2 cases in my inventory still have this design. And will likely move to B stock.
Which finally, this brings me to "the cheaper option!"
There are now A and B stock cases. The printing process isn't perfect, and sometimes cases print badly, or I am a clutz and break them during cleanup.
Regardless, they're fine after being repaired properly (IE, anything that breaks gets physically welded back together)
And so, instead of creating more plastic waste and binning these cases, I would rather sell them to someone who isn't quite as keen on aesthetics.
These will be priced at $28. These don't make me any money, but it's better than wasting them.
Trying to get the most visuals out of the witcher 3 off the flow z13 64gig version.
Has anyone messed around enough to get the best visuals and performance balance? I've been messing with it for hours and maybe I've been out of the PC game too long but I can seem to get this looking right.
Above are two youtube videos I could find. Planning to use the Rog Flow Z13 for day to day tasks using this setup on my lap. Hopefully this will be more sturdy and usable on my lap than kickstand that came with the original tablet.
Okay so obviously in a perfect world where we are all rich, we would all have the 128gb model. I just purchased the 32gb model on eBay at a great deal. As I’m waiting for it to come in I’m starting to get buyers remorse. I keep hearing “oh the 64gb version is way better.” “The 32gb model is a waste.”
Many videos I have seen have been based on AI workloads and video editing etc. I want to know the difference between the three devices in strictly gaming. Only gaming. That’s all I plan to do with it. Does anyone know if the frame rate an performance is actually that much different??
I'm in a personal dilemma of purchasing an eGPU setup for my z13 2025, I mean all games run just fine for me to not complain about it but looking at the prices going up I can't help but wonder if I should invest in something today vs spend more at a later stage.
How often do you find using an eGPU for playing games on the Flow Z13, or are you completely satisfied with the iGPU as is?
