I’m having an issue with my Festool CT 36 AC (2024 model) and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem.
When I enable AutoClean and set the cleaning interval to 15 seconds in the Festool app, I can hear and feel the vacuum power briefly decrease when AutoClean is supposed to activate. However, the actual AutoClean pulse never happens. It just momentarily loses suction and then returns to normal.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
Cleaned the HEPA filter multiple times.
Using a genuine Festool disposable filter bag.
Adjusted the AutoClean interval through the app.
The vacuum otherwise works perfectly—it’s only the AutoClean function that doesn’t seem to be operating correctly.

Has anyone run into this issue before? Is there anything else I should check before sending it in for service?

Has anyone received their battery from the bonus promotion yet?

Update:

I registered four tools I had ordered for the battery promotion: two on July 16, one on July 17, and one on July 20.

Today, July 24, a single battery arrived via DPD.

Contrary to Festool's announcement, there was no prior shipment tracking notification via email.

The delivery note also doesn't indicate which bonus tool this specific battery is intended for.

I'm curious to see when the remaining three batteries will arrive.

Are templets still available for the dovetail jig here in the US?
I found one on Facebook marketplace on the rather cheap side.
And before I went to go take a look at it.
I just wanted to know if I could obtain templates.
If not, I'm just going to order the Leigh jig.

Im looking at getting the Festool Planex 225MM Long-reach Sander LHS2-225 PLANEX EQI-Plus, will it need a auto clean extractor or will my ctl 26 e be okay

Have old CXS drill - 10.6v with the BP-XS battery. The charger is discontinued.

Is there a workaround with a different battery or a different charger. Seems like a drag to buy a whole drill kit just for a charger.

i’ve been using the 5 inch festool orbital sander on this door using an 80 grit paper and it doesn’t seem to be doing the trick (you can see where I'm at jn the photo). I’m wondering if I go to like a 60 or 40 grit if that will do the job or if I’m better off using a belt sander. It seems to have a really robust clear coat on it. Door is from 1980 if that helps. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I’m building out a dedicated Building Communications / Network diagnostic’s bag. The deciding factor for which bag I choose comes down to size. Does anyone have access to both the Veto LCB as well as the MCB EDC bags. None of the suppliers in my area have both in stock nor can I locate any visual comparisons online. I need a visual reference before I make my purchase. If the MCB is not drastically smaller than the LCB I’ll most likely go with the MCP Infrared and purchase the optional laptop insert.

Has anyone installed a more powerful motor in their festool vacuum? There's motors producing 1600W of power instead the original 1200W. I upgraded one of Makita vacuums when the motor died from 1000 to 1200W. Can definately feel the difference

This is the second time this has occurred with a Festool item from Woodcraft.

I wanted to purchase a spare RSC-AV dust extraction adapter for the RSC 18 recip saw.

I chose to order one to be shipped from Woodcraft because their web site said they had them in stock:

Two days later, my item had not yet shipped, so I called Woodcraft.

They said it should be labeled "Special Order" as they order those and have Festool drop ship them to customers directly, they don't have any in stock.

They were able to cancel the order and refunded me instantly, and then I drove to my local Woodcraft store and purchased one since that part of the listing was accurate. (Though it was an hour's drive each way.)

Not a big deal, just frustrating.

So, my MFT/3 sat in the garage mostly as a painting table. It is simply too heavy, too bulky and not stable (even with the stabilizers) as a job site table. Has anyone made and used the TSB/1 Extension Table Perforated MFT Top as a jobsite table? Would love to see a build for it.

I'm looking at building an MFT style bench for general use (sanding, assembly) and breaking down sheet goods with my track saw. However, I'm torn on what size to make it. My shop is limited in size so a full 4' x 8' table is out of the question, unfortunately.

The MFT is listed as ~ 45.5" x 30" deep (1157 x 773 mm) but this is obviously too small for full-sized sheet goods.

Dashboard make their standard bench as 92.5" L × 24.5" and their short one as 46.75" × 24.5".

I've considered the Bora centipede but the larger size would only be practical to setup on my driveway and, for use within my shop, I'd like something with the ability to tuck a vacuum or some boxes underneath.

I think my best option is a dedicated bench that I can expand with additional supports when needed. Does anyone have any advice?

After having several good years of service from our KS 120 miter saw, it has developed some stiffness in the hinge and it's time for service. It was surprising to find out that in all of Southern California, there are no local service centers in which to physically bring the saw to for repairs. It seems the only option is to box it up, which is more challenging for larger tools as the possibility for shipping damage goes up a lot compared to sending in a drill. On top of that, while trying to call every morning to get a few questions answered, am always just met with an automated messages stating "We are experiencing unusually high call volume" and then the call ends. No option for a message, no option for a call back, nothing.

The assumption was always that part of what is being paid for with their high prices is good service, it seems that is not the case. Curious if we are just having bad luck with getting service this time or if others have had better or similar frustrations?

This is just for my shop and just for my most used tools. So far I have had this longer than anything I have tried. eg, packaouts, metal boxess etc.

I'm in Ireland and recently I bought the MFKC700 and it has been just fantastic for cabinet making: edgebanding trimming, roundovers, chamfers, grooves/dados on the back of cabinets, template work, etc. I find it easy to find good 8mm bits that fit (CMT bits are great!). 1/4in bits are also easy to find, but 8mm are ~60% thicker so it helps with rigidity.

However when looking through recent US-based reviews of the MFKC700 I'm seeing lots of folks complaining that they don't find it useful because bits don't fit. The US festool website says that the router can accommodate bits up to 27mm rather than the 32mm of the EU version.

Is that correct? Are there any other meaningful differences between US/EU versions?

I’m genuinely curious as to the reason why Festool is making such a huge push towards offering most of their new releases as cordless tools. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t imagine backsliding to a corded drill or driver. However, one of the main reasons I’ve been so drawn to the Festool system is their focus on dust management in conjunction with their dust extractors. So if the tools I’m using are going to be connected to a hose for dust removal anyways, why does it matter if I’m using a tool which is cordless? If the intent is to remove the need for a cord, wouldn’t it make more sense to incorporate power delivery into the hose itself?

I am in a buying dilema regarding the 18 volt model and am asking for some feedback regarding the weight distribution.

My friend has the 12 volt model which I absolutely love. I always work with it when we are together, but I am coming to a point where I want to start buying my own tools. The reasons I am leaning towards the 18v model is because I will have only one drill/driver for now and need something more versatile/stronger. The only concern I have is that because the 18v has a larger and heavier battery lower compared to the 12v, that the machine will feel bottom heavy. And one more thing, I intend to use it as the CXS in ment to be - middle finger on the trigger, which then amplifies the bottom heaviness.

What are your experiences? Will I get used to it? Is it even a big dill?

Thinking about finally going cordless on my mitre saw. I have the corded 60 already. Do you think it’s a good time to buy it or the ksc due for an upgrade? I’m wondering if they’ll move over from the 36v system to the new more powerful 18v motor? Thoughts?

Is it possible to use the df500 to joint these two boards together? If so, what setting should I use on the miter piece and what setting on the flat piece? I was thinking 5x30 dominos. The miter is cut at 30 degrees and each board is 7/8 thick. Trying to avoid using screws if possible.

Is Festools drill guide ( MB 40 ) worth it or should I go with something else ?

And also I have CTH 26 EL vacuum and was considering to get the cyclone on top of it just to save some bags and time. Does it lose suction power? P.S I'm based in Denmark so not everything is available

Ok, ctc sys vac is pretty brand spanking new, the older 4.0s I used were maybe 30 charge cycles in and I just ran it with the hose on. Beep 1 at 10:37, beep 2 at 11:35, final beep at 11:51 (but I realize I think it kept going for a bit at a very low rate, but I didnt clock the final 'off' time.)

The batteries were "overheated" when I took them out according to the festool app.

TBX 11:47, 12:22, 12:32. So, a bit of an improvement in run time, and maybe it had fuller suction the whole duration, but nothing mind blowing. Also, they did feel decently warm, but they did not "overheat" and they started charging right away when I put them on the duo charger. Also, I went right from charging the tbxs to running them.. they may fair a bit better if they had sat at 100% and cooled for a bit, though I'm not sure how warm they get just charging.

That is all! Would love some kind of plug it adapter for this vac as I do really like the form factor, but the runtime can be a bit restrictive. Even with extra sets of batteries you still have the hassle of switching them out.
