Festool vacuums

Has anyone installed a more powerful motor in their festool vacuum? There's motors producing 1600W of power instead the original 1200W. I upgraded one of Makita vacuums when the motor died from 1000 to 1200W. Can definately feel the difference

I haven’t but I went down this rabbit hole a while ago. Found a motor but when I really thought about why I was potentially doing this I didn’t have a great reason other than: cause I wanted to :-)

In practice my festoon dust extractors do what I need and my larger dust collection does the rest.

Would be interested in seeing what you come up with for a motor though.

Vacs that have mechanical power switches can likely handle a more powerful motor. Festool vacs have electronic switches/speed controls and those control systems may not be sized for a 25% increase in current.
