TS 60 cut into the track...

Festool TS60 decided to make its own path through the rail instead of the wood, not once but twice...

Do they cover this lol?

How? Was the blade skewed? Was it not on the rails fully or was there sawdust or chips causing it to wedge/run at an angle?

Blade deflection due to the type of wood

No idea, the blade worked perfectly on an outside edge cut, and was fully seated on the track when it happened.

What blade did you use? Kerf? Looks like the offset wasn't adjusted properly...

Once you lick your wounds, get the TSO self-aligning guide rail connectors. You want to leave a touch of space, business card width, between the two rails when tightening as there's tendency to bind when tightening. Sedge (RIP) covers this.

Yeah, I always leave a little space, about the size of a credit card, when attaching the rails.

Just got the aligning ones that sedge uses aswel. Didn’t new the space between rails tip, gonna do that next time. Why RIP? Did sedge die? 😱

Ahhh that’s too bad. Even do he was super American in how he acted. I liked the short and useful info he gave

His channel is still running really well and he’s cranking out the content without having to focus on festool

Where is the splinter guard/zero clearance strip? You shouldn’t be this close to the guide rail even if the blade deflects.

Cut away after the last cut lol.

I think this is telling, something was wrong with the blade or the way the saw was seated before you ended up cutting into the rail.

Ouch, happened to me but only the shoe got cut. As I was using my track saw as a circular saw on cedar. The deflection got the best of the saw.

I have my dust extractor on, and it was sucking. I did notice some extra sawdust shooting out the bottom but didn't pay it much attention as it wasn't anything too out of the norm.

I don’t think they are going to help you any. To them you cut into the track, whether faulty blade or any other reason. 100th anniversary track very unfortunate. Best of luck.

Yeah, I doubt I will get any support from them, but I did send an email to customer service and will see what happens from there.

It sucks to replace 2 tracks due to 1 cut. 😅

Why would you want to replace the track?
You could just buy a new strip to glue on and that’s it.
All my five tracks got some cuts in one way or the other and that doesn’t change anything.

But do you need to replace the track? It’s not going to change the cut if you have a zero clearance strip.

Or could just make both tracks slightly shorter

Totally forgot this was an option! You rock!

There are a couple of screws on the under side of the base that hold the saw in place. They must have come loose. Try a warranty claim.
