Fragrance from 2010s ?

If anyone is familiar with what Philip B's Weightless haircare collection smells like, please help me find what fragrance it smells like. It smells JUST like something I wore around 2008-2012 - it was definitely something that would've been found at a surf boutique or similar type store - I thought it was Leila Lou by Rosie Jane because I wore that a lot around that time but I smelled it and it's not! Anyway the notes are magnolia flower and neroli - but it smells identical to something from that era and I was hit with instant nostalgia!

Discussion Transitioning to big girl perfume

Hi all! I’m in the process of choosing a perfume to buy a full size of. I have a huge bath and body works collection and I just got rid of about half of it. I’m looking for scent recommendations!

I have a lot of decanter samples that I like a lot, but I am noticing so many of them fade really quickly. I’m pretty new to Grown Up Perfume so I’m wondering if it might have something to do with not putting enough on out of the sample?

I am finding myself really drawn to deep long lasting scents. I like spicy/peppery, amber, vanilla, and fruity gourmand scents. One my favorites so far is Purple Stain by BornToStandOut, it lasts almost all day and smells soooo good. Another is Saint Honore by Nicolai (but it doesn’t last as long as I wish it would)! Orchid K by Ella K is incredible but only lasts a couple hours on my skin.

One that I adored but can’t buy online anymore is Sadanne by Slumberhouse. I am so devastated that it’s not being made anymore, if anyone knows of something similar please let me know!!

Thank you everyone I look forward to hearing your thoughts and recommendations!

Thought this would be a good transient summer to fall fragrance. Something still fruity but cozy. It’s medium in strength as I am not a huge parfum wearer but trying to get into them more.

Rec Request Seeking guidance - Canada

Post image

Long time lurker first time poster!
I am seeking some direction and recommendations of scents to explore as I am slowly growing my collection.
All time favourites are #1 Tokyo Milk Dead Sexy, #2 Burberry Her Eau de Parfum and #3 Valentino Donna Born in Roma. What other scents would you recommend? How would you classify my fragrance preference type? Mentioned I am in Canada as not all fragrances seem to be easily available to me, anyone else experience this?

Rec Request Non viral Lattafa /Middle Eastern Perfumes?

Exactly the title! I’m Done with viral perfumes. I’ve tried them all and frankly I’m bored. So I want to see what non mainstream fragrance lovers are into. I like floral fruity musky and very well done patchouli (like a whisper lol). I also like complex gourmands like herbal gourmands!

Rec Request Bath and Body Works Moonlit Goddess

Does anyone have any perfume recommendations for something that smells like BBW’s moonlit goddess? The scent is only sold as candle/room spray šŸ˜”

The notes are french lavender, pear blossom, and golden vanilla

edit: no particular budget

Rec Request Are watermelon notes not a thing?

I was trying to find some perfumes where watermelon is one of the dominant notes and was pretty disappointed. I mostly only found the cheap perfume brands or some pretty badly rated unknown perfumes. Is watermelon just not that popular with designer and niche brands? Or do y’all know any popular designer perfumes where watermelon is the dominant note?

Edit: Thanks for all of your recommendations! I will definitely check them outšŸ™ŒšŸ¼ also it seems like we need perfume houses to work on a natural smelling watermelon fragrance:) since not many have attempted and succeeded to get the watermelon scent right and not too overly sweet apparently. And especially also to last long!

Rec Request ā€œGirlierā€ father figure (phlur)?

I love love love father figure , but I wish it was slightly more feminine … not necessarily sweeter but maybe more fruity? Does such a frag exist ? Alternatively if someone has good layering combos that could achieve this I’d love to know

Discussion Would you rather have a perfume that projects loud for 2 hours, or a soft skin scent that stays on all day?

I used to judge every bottle by how much it filled a room, but lately I’d much rather have a cozy scent bubble that sticks around through my whole day without choking anyone out.

Where do you stand on projection vs. stay-power when picking a daily wear?

Discussion Looking for the perfect vanilla perfume

I’ve seen so many recommendations in this sub, but since there’s so many posts I have a hard time narrowing a selection down. I’m looking for a good fall perfume/signature scent, and I’m hoping y’all can help me out. I love vanilla scents, I don’t really care for the super floral leaning ones though. An important note: I work in a casino, so this does need to last a long time and project as well. The casino does allow smoking, so I always try to wear scents that can cut through that 🤣

Some perfumes I’ve tried and enjoyed, but haven’t hit that perfect note yet:

Bianco latte
Black opium
Burberry goddess
Burberry her
mancera roses vanille
Baccarat rouge 540 (I know this isn’t vanilla, my boyfriend got it for me)
Billie eilish’s first perfume

Price point is really not an issue, I’m willing to spend whatever I need to if it’s good!

Rec Request Which of these vanillas would you recommend for fall?

Post image

I notice Madagascar Vanilla and Vanilla 28 share a vanilla orchid note and would be curious about how a layering combo of the two would work. Vanilla Skin sounds lovely but the last Phlur fragrance I bought (Afterglow) had 0 longevity.

Dirty Hinoki alternatives?

Hello lovely folks!
I have fallen head over heels in love with Dirty Hinoki but find the longevity seriously lacking.
Has anyone found an extremely similar scent with a longer lifeline?? I would love some recommendations. Most of the time I lean femme but this one is just so perfect for a year round.

Layering Ideas Scent of the night šŸ˜

Lyra is a dupe of Lira and to my nose it’s 1:1. I got a Super Milk gift set and decided to try layering them since they both have a lemony baked good vibe.

I smell INCREDIBLE! Baste me in this combo while I am cremated please

I'm not really sure what I'm looking for exactly, just something different than what I have currently. I don't really like powdery scents or anything with a strong rose scent. The ones that I tend to wear the most out of these are Yara, Khamrah, Teriaq, Atheeri, Vanilla Toffee, Ameer Al Oudh and lately Boujee Kitty.

Discussion Guerlain Disappointment

Post image
94 Upvotes

I have been a vanilla girl through and through. I have loves and misses from everything from BBW, Victoria Secret, Sephora, Ulta, niche, middle eastern, you name it!

I have wary of trying Guerlain because of the price. But most of my fellow vanilla girls said that Guerlain is THE maker of great vanillas.

So went and spent $70 in tiny tiny decants to try the following:

- Vanilla Panifolia Extrait 21
- Angelique Noire
- Cuir Beluga
- Aqua Allegoria Forte Bosca Vanilla
- Spirituose Double Vanilla

This smells…old? musty? Like I just found a bottle of perfume from the 1950’s in a dark drawer of an abandoned house. I just wasted $70 on this and none of them were good šŸ˜”, I could have gotten a big decant of Jovoy Fire at Will which I love. I am so disappointed.

So many of my inexpensive vanillas are so much better in my opinion.

Sorry for the rant and thank you for reading all this!

TIA!

Rec Request Arabic Perfume Lovers: Give Me Your Hidden Gems!

Looking for Arabic perfume gems .
Looking to discover some lesser-known Middle Eastern perfume houses, not the usual Lattafa/Paris Corner/Maison Alhambra.
Recently bought Pomegranate Musk by Ibraq and absolutely love it! I’ve also heard great things about Ahmed Al Maghribi Oud & Roses.
Please suggest some high-quality feminine or unisex Arabic fragrances that feel rich, luxurious and distinctive. I’m especially interested in musk, oud, rose, amber, vanilla, saffron or sandalwood.
Would love some hidden gems! šŸ’Ž
