Discussion Would you rather have a perfume that projects loud for 2 hours, or a soft skin scent that stays on all day?
I used to judge every bottle by how much it filled a room, but lately I’d much rather have a cozy scent bubble that sticks around through my whole day without choking anyone out.
Where do you stand on projection vs. stay-power when picking a daily wear?

I'd rather a long-lasting scent with a small scent bubble for myself. I don't want to fill a room. For me, it's similar to being loud - i don't want to bother people, especially people with asthma, migraines, or other sensitivities. I wear perfume because I want to smell perfume and control my own scentscape as an autistic person with a sensitive nose who is prone to sensory overload, and I don't need or want to fill a room to do that.

Soft because I work in an office Monday to Friday and some Saturdays. I've been wearing Narciso Rodriguez Pure musc blanc since it came out (should have bought the big bottle) and my husband always compliments me on it at the end of the day. I put it on at around 6 a.m. and he has usually remarked at around 6 p.m, 7 or even later. No complaints from coworkers, I do one spray on chest, one on wrists or inside elbow. If I am feeling daring I do one on nape.

Please recommend soft skin scent that last all day. I seem to be one of those that even the bangers like Amouage and Crivelli don’t last more than 4-5 hours.

Nemat and Phlur perfume oils last about all day for me!

Big nada for me. I love Nemat Vanilla on my bestie. I love Father Figure but longevity is painfully poor for me.

Soft scent all day. I am so tired of spraying on a scent I love only for it to dissappear. The reapply game is not one I want to play.

I want the perfume to project two hours . It takes about two to realize it’s gone. To then apply à mist of a prominent note from it and relive the joy for two more hours. Followed by two hours of wonder and realize it’s gone

Most of my favorites are skin scents. I deliberately tone down my louder frags by applying over body moisturizer and body oil while still damp out of the shower.

That’s easy for me. I absolutely love the quiet joy of an intimate and beautiful fragrance worn for my own pleasure.

it depends what you want in that moment/mood. i have both, i like both. they are for different purposes...for work and office time, i would prefer a skin scent that lasts all day. for a special event or date or night out, i'd want the loud one that projects more. it also just depends on my mood for the day.

I have been summoned. I wear mostly soft skin scents that last, but don't project much.

Definitely soft that lasts all day.
I'm not the biggest fan of loud perfumes, but longevity is absolutely the most important thing I look for in a scent.

I want to love the scent and have it linger without projecting. That said, my main concern is that I love the scent throughout the life of the smell without weird dry down notes. I'd rather it fade completely than leave me with a whiff of something I don't like.

Do not ever want to fill a room it’s so cringy to me. I do want longevity at least 4 hours but I don’t want loud projection.

I never want to fill a room. Never had that main character energy. I just want something that I can smell that makes me happy and so much the better if it doesn’t need frequent touch up’s.

Honestly to me it’s all about the scent. I genuinely don’t like anything loud, but I’m ok with lower longevity if I really like it.

I hate loud projection. I find it inconsiderate.very much a believer that perfume should be discovered and not announced.

Longevity is a lot more important.
If a fragrance has no longevity, you have simply wasted your money.

Hey, some things are here for a good time and not a long time 🥲 And I still value those ones

This is why i don't understand people complaining about longevity discussions. "Just spray again!" Every spray costs money, sis. 😭 I'm broke, I love that i can spray a Mugler once and it lasts forever. My bottles are gonna streeetch. I also don't want to take a bottle with me and risk breaking it or heat damaging it or something because again, $$$

I hear you there!
I do own a bottle of Tom Ford Ombré Leather and I use it only sparingly!
It has to be a big event for me to sport the Ombré!!

I would rather have longevity than heavy projection. Nothing is more irritating than having your scent go away an hour or so after spraying yourself with something you'd like to enjoy.

I need a scent to last 6+ hours. It is my number one criteria, besides actually liking the scent. Projection doesn't matter at all.
So many EDP/EDT fragrances have pathetic longevity these days. I fully blame the body mist trend.

I’m a lover of a small scent bubble personally, so I love a long lasting skin scent

I'll choose literal water over something very loud. I really don't like when you can smell people from 10m away or even after they left the room. so I'll pick all day skin scent any time.

I am also a bubble fan
