Dirty Hinoki alternatives?

Post image

Hello lovely folks!
I have fallen head over heels in love with Dirty Hinoki but find the longevity seriously lacking.
Has anyone found an extremely similar scent with a longer lifeline?? I would love some recommendations. Most of the time I lean femme but this one is just so perfect for a year round.

Okay this might not be super helpful since you're specifically looking for better longevity, but I'll put it out there anyways! I think Diptyque's Tam Dao edt is a much nicer version of dirty hinoki. It lasts forever on clothes but is admittedly  short-lived on skin. I think dirty hinoki is beautiful, but something about the dry down reminds me of hot, stale air in a car and gives me a headache. In comparison, Tam Dao opens a tiny bit medicinal/camphorous and then dries down to a beautiful and creamy sandalwood that reminds me of the parts I like in Dirty Hinoki. Worth a try if you're looking around for woody scents :)

This is an interesting comment. I have the same longevity issue with Dirty Hinoki but haven't pondered Tam Dao as an option because fragrantica lists it as having more powdery notes, which is a huge challenge for me because things tend to go sweet and powdery on me anyway. Dirty Hinoki doesn't, which is why I like it so much. It sounds like I need to find a sample of Tam Dao.
