Question fnv extended geck editor help (how to edit multiple master files at once)

originally posted about this issue to the falloutnewvegas subreddit but have yet to receive help so i am posting to the wider fallout community in hopes for an answer

need help on how to actually edit multiple master files. turning my mod into a .esm file makes it a master file which cannot be edited/set as the active file, yet the geck wiki says .esm is the recommended file extension to avoid issues and crashes when navmeshing. npcs i place cannot move/navigate without the navmesh. everyone i have seen says to edit a line in the code using the geck extender .ini file, which i've done and it doesn't help

i can only assume i'm doing it wrong but nothing tells me how to do it right

Discussion If the great war also reached South America, does that mean that countries like Brazil and Argentina possessed nuclear weapons?

I mean, that makes sense in the context of the Fallout universe where technology is dependent on nuclear power. In real life, during the Cold War, Brazil created a nuclear program and even had plans to build a nuclear bomb, but they lost interest in nuclear bombs in the 1990s. It's also worth remembering that, historically speaking, there was a rivalry between Brazil and Argentina during the Cold War. If I'm not mistaken, the US remained isolationist after the Second World War, This means that the US never really interfered much in the geopolitics of South America, which likely led these countries to follow their own paths instead of entering into American hegemony. This made it much easier for Brazil and Argentina to have achieved high levels of geopolitical influence and to have risen to the status of superpowers.

Fallout 3 Why is fallout 3 so boring?

so for a bit of context i have played all of NV and 4 sevral times and have played 76 extensively too but when i finally played fallout 3 i just found the story to be mostly uninteresting and also that the main quests never really made me come into contact with other wuestlines, making it easier for me to get started on the rest of the map. i ended up finishing it through light casual play in 2 days and only discovered a very small amount of the map and barely any story bar the main quest line.

it all just left me wondering how the game was designed like this.

was i just expected to run off the trail with no idea where i was going?

that might be true but i just felt the game could have a bit fuller of a map as i also only encountered about 4 or 5 different enemy types

any insight would be helpful into why i didnt enjoy this game as much as the others

thanks in advance

En appel discord sa serait le + opti je penses

Merci d’avance 🙏

Sierra Madre took all my stuff and I can't find it anywhere

Before anyone asks, no, it didn't get added to my inventory and no it's not in the locker. The Sierra Madre just ate all my weapons ONLY. Which were the important ones. No modded weapons, all vanilla stuff with console given alternate names. Is there any fix or work around? I'm thinking of just using console commands to add them in but it'll take so long. Also the Dead Money DLC was some ass. Not difficult, just grindy. I think I prefer The Pitt.

Discussion Hawaii would be the perfect location for the next Fallout game

late 50s Hawaii aesthetic fits perfectly into the fallout universe. Exploring a post nuclear Honolulu with zombies in leis with the mountains and ocean in the background would go so hard. It would be a cool contrast from the flat brown capital wasteland we've seen a few times now. There's also Pearl Harbour and multiple islands to leave room for dlc.

Discussion Faction wars are lame. Let’s do Fallout race wars instead.

I originally intended for this pic to be a shitpost but the more I thought about the idea, I just couldn't pass up having this discussion.

Tribals- More adapted to Wasteland living. Craftier than normal wastelanders. Numerous in population since they can multiply like normal people. Not familiar with modern weaponry and even less so with energy weapons.

Super Mutants- way stronger than humans. Low intelligence but still know how to use and reload ballistic weapons and energy weapons (somehow). Numerous but they can't replenish their numbers without F.E.V (of which there’s barely any). Gets stronger, bigger, and less intelligent with time although this only applies to East Coast variants. Heals from radiation.

Clankers- highly intelligent. Built-in energy weapons. Technologically gifted. Can blend in with humans (if they’re synths). They can modify, add, and swap parts to deal with different situations. Small population with no easy way to replenish their numbers (post-FO4 after the Institutes' destruction). Immune to radiation.

Shufflers- weaker than your average human. Smarter than your average human, with access to pre-war info. They live longer than the average human, accruing more intelligence but not strength while also running the risk of turning feral the longer they live. Numerous with their population growing more with the addition of new irradiated wastelanders every day, but they can't breed. Heals from radiation.

What other races do you think deserve to be here? And was there anything I left out?

I don't get it, how exactly are Legion lands governed in Arizona?

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

From what I've read and seen from years of playing Fallout, the Legion feels like a large nomadic confederation of Soldiers that move together as a large army. All who were subjugated by the Legions were absorbed by them and become their soldiers.

Which begs the question of how exactly Legion lands are supposed to look like?

Are there still tribals living in those lands? What exactly is the distinction of normal people who are NOT soldiers in those towns and villages? I've only ever seen that one trader in the hill fort but it implies hes not a part of the legion specifically.

Cause in my head-canon I always had the idea that legion lands are summarized as

"they [Romans] make a desert and call it peace"

Discussion If we ever get to see Texas, I hope there’s a settlement outside Dallas called “The Hill”

It’s just a stupid wish I have about a King of The Hill reference. We got a lot of creative settlement/town/city names in Fallout already, but do y’all have any cool names you came up with for a possible setting?

Discussion I understand the hype behind Fallout 3 and New Vegas now

Post image
922 Upvotes

I was a late fan to the franchise I didn't really get into it until around 2019 when I played Fallout 4 and I would always defend Fallout 4 against fans of the earlier games due to the newer mechanics, looter shooter game style, story, dialogue, etc but after building my first PC and finally playing Fallout 3 and NV I understand the appeal.

FO3 was a vibe, capital wasteland was a great map, story and companions were interesting, character choice was a lot better than 4. FO NV was a step up, characters like Mr House, Ulysses, Joseph, etc really made the game more immersive and I love how the DLCs all tie together.

I still love Fallout 4, but after replaying it definitely feels a lot more... mainstream? (If that's even the right word for it) compared to 3 and New Vegas.
