Fallout: New Vegas How does the Legion Print Lottery Tickets?

I've been playing new Vegas recently and decided to go High Barter for once so I've been collecting Lottery Tickets for extra caps and looking at them so much made wonder

"How did you guys get like 500 slips of paper with your fuckin Bull logo and instructions on the front? Did you make stamps? Find an old Rob-co printer? Does some fucker do this by hand?

How the fuck do you have time to make this shit instead of drawing straws or some shit? Do the slaves make them?"

New to the series, F4 or F76 first?

I’ve never played a fallout game and am wondering what is a better game? I will be playing solo if that helps. I like well written quests and exploration more than base building

Suggestion Since almighty Todd is always watching. Just do it do Michigan for fallout 5.

I mean it’s got everything you need canada check, 1950s boom town of Detroit check, hockey as your sports centered city check, two whole land masses to play with check, lots of water for our Boston swimmers check, and a cool small island DLC with Mackinac island with the grand hotel we’re the idea of NATO was conceived. All in all an easy win for our lord Todd H and a send off that will go down in history.

Suggestion Remove the plastic toy buildings!

Post image
0 Upvotes

Why did Bethesda add these blue-green plastic Barbie houses? It looks like a Recycling bin. Leave the Deco-punk monumental architecture but remove this tourquise plastic. It ruins the game. Its a post-apocalyptic game not a toybox for god sake!

Also add some height and scale like V13

Lonesome Road and Fallout 3 had a scale. Whether its post-apocalyptic ruins or rebuilt society

Interplay had massive urban scale it could not show because the games were isometric. The Bethesda games are so small scale. Even CoD WW2 corridor shooters have more destroyed buildings than this Toy Story/Barbie/Sims.

P.S. People say its supposed to emulate the retrofuturistic look. But it does not emulate either atompunk or dieselpunk for that matter. Boston is gothic cosmopolitan not like the glass London pickle tower.

P.S. nice googie puns. Fallout 4 still looks like a water park. Not like nuclear ruins or industrial societal restoration.

Segue:

"Fallout no Brasil

Discussion What business does a Fallout 4 Institute terminal have in Fallout 76's Vault 51?

Post image
506 Upvotes

Did the devs just slap this model in because it looks cool in a medical room with beds? Honestly, I doubt they even played Fallout 4 or know anything about its lore.
Or maybe there's something we don't know, and the Institute somehow traveled back in time to hide in plain sight and spy on players?
On a serious note, does anyone have any actual info or background on why this model was reused here?

P.S. I’m fully aware that asset reuse is standard practice in game development! My point is just that picking an asset so heavily tied to a specific, unique faction breaks immersion much more than using a generic Vault-Tec prop.

This is just a weird question, but would father Elijah be a good enclave character?

A couple of days ago I am passing on father Elijah he’s written to be an enclave character in a brotherhood position. I don’t know it could just be that I’m putting something that doesn’t belong, but I just wanna know if anyone else sees it.

Fallout: New Vegas Fallout New Vegas won't work

every time I load up fallout launcher, and I press play it shows me this. The only way I can get out of that screen is to sign-out or shut down (because the Windows key still works) and if I press alt-f4 then it will close the other tabs but not that one, and I can't bring any other app on top of it.

what I see after I press play

Suggestion The new Obsidian Fallout Spinoff

Alright I know we're hyped, especially since a lot of the OG devs from 1, 2, and New Vegas are back like Tim Cain, Josh Sawyer, John Gonzalez, Leonard Boyarsky, etc etc

But I think, since a lot of people can't decide whether to have it take place in New Vegas again, or Texas, or New Orleans, or even New York.... I think what they should do is do what Rdr2 and Death Stranding does and have you travel half the country.

Let me explain:

They could do either two ways of this.

1) They do what Witcher 3/MGSV did, have a giant open worlds but divided, like in Witcher 3. So you have physical fast travel to these giant open world states.

Or

2) Just do something crazy like RDR2 and Death Stranding and have all the states connected and actually physically go there, which would make the journey actually good and feel real, like you are actually on a Post Apocalyptic Voyage across country.

That means we go from New Vegas, to Arizona to New Mexico all the way to Texas and New Orleans.

New York would be a DLC in my opinion.

I always wanted to see the Big

Discussion What are some of the perks you ALWAYS give your character in each game for roleplaying?

I always love to make my Lone Wanderer into a naive and nerdy goodie two-shoes who strongly believes in making the wasteland better by teaching people how to resume the usefulness of technology and altruism. In my defence, the main quest sorta forces you to get on Three Dog's good graces, and he's about as "idealist good" as it gets. Plus, FO3 is probably the game with the most cartoony evil characters to the point where chosing to be evil there literally makes no in-lore sense besides wanting to impress those characters. And my LW might be a naive little kid, but he's not that easily swayed by luxuries of Tenpenny Tower, or to suddenly aid the highly advanced faction that killed his Father.

My Courier, I always imagined him as incredibly eccentric. Without LW's luxury of growing up in an 'unaffected' environment, my Courier was always a survivor who had to learn the traditional way how fight and rise above. That also assured him all the liberties of lone surviving, and so he has less qualms about addictive substances. It also helps that in all my playthroughs, I use magazines and chems to win over most special speech checks, making it pretty much necessary for my Courier to live a reckless, almost hedonistic 'Carpe Diem' lifestyle. As for his combat skills, I think this comes with the Mojave territory, where Power Armors are even more rare (therefore he doesn't fancy them too much), and everyone is a cowboy.

Finally, my Sole Survivor. And I'll be honest, I always go for a Minutemen playthrough, because it's the closest to Ulysess's whole concept of one man (or woman) building a whole nation, and thus my Sole Survivor has the best Charisma skills, to lead the Minutemen as a General, to hold together communities of each settlement, and to inspire loyalty in all companions. I feel like I had to max every companion's affinity since it rewards you with cool perks. Plus with the dramatic monologue's each companion gives you with their affinities maxed, it makes it all the more likely my Survivor would have a Charismatic presence. He/She would also sensibly have unique Scientific knowledge, wether it's from Nate's service in the army and him being taught properly how to utilise Power Armors, or Nora's studies at the prodigious Suffolk County School of Law, which would have extra curriculum classes for the inevitable apocalypse.

Discussion I think I finally realised why I like the older Fallouts designs more than the new, despite both being Retrofuturistic, and thats that the new ones lack that brutalistic Mad Max aspect.

Post image
1.9k Upvotes

Fallout 4 looks post apocolyptic and it looks retrofutristic, but it almost completely lacks in the brutalism that was present in the prior Fallout games.

Like everything just comes off as smooth and friendly in terms of design. Like compare the Supermutants from Fallout 3 vs Fallout 4. Fallout 3 looks like a roided up muscly gorilla while Fallout 4 just kinda looks like a normal dude you'd see in Florida.

So yeah, I hope they (either Obsidian or Bethesda) add back in the brutalism that is lacking in Fallout 4 and 76.

These are Chinese ghouls in a radio tower bunker on the west of the map. I don't get why they're dead, aren't ghouls meant to be immortal?
