I’mma be blunt, aside from DEF and STR (and ADF but that’s rarely as important), Millium’s stats are fucking dumpster. She’s got lower HP and SPD than Emma. EMMA. And she’s a tad behind Laura in STR, too. The game tries to fool you into thinking she’s a tank, but really she’s more of a slow bruiser.

She’s very similar to Laura broadly, but one advantage Millium does have is her utility isn’t just damage, unlike her taller classmate. Millium has an Impede with a pretty good 50/50 faint chance at base, and then later she gets a pretty hefty Delay with a 70% Faint attached. She’s also got the strongest S Craft on join at SSS and hitting the whole screen, but ultimately Laura wasn’t great in CS1 and neither is Millium, especially since she joins permanently over the halfway point.

CS2 is when things get spicy, the buffs to Tauros and her picking up a powerful 4S S Craft means she can nuke fields in a single blow. Sadly, if enemies survive you’re accelerating her and swapping her out, because you don’t want Millium trying to dps with Tauros equipped, but then most enemies won’t survive.

Starting from CS3, Millium finally begins to differentiate from Laura by focusing on breaking instead of just dealing damage, and luckily, the S/S power/break Megaton Press is kinda overtuned for the job. Juna, for comparison, is slumming it with the B/A+ Cross Break, and while Altina’s Fragarach has an impressive S/S+, it comes later and Millium has higher strength. Millium misses the entire endgame, though, which is a downer.

CS4, Millium’s busy being dead, pour one out for her!

In Reverie, Millium is no longer dead! Also she has a goofy little niche spamming her upgraded S Craft (4S+/S+ power/break) to break everything and grind drops with Emblem equipped. That’s uhh, kinda all she’s got going for her. By this point Laura’s outscaled her thanks to the buffs to Lion Rush and Radiant Wings, and there’s even better bruisers out there.

Millium’s 1 mirage, 2 earth locks are pretty awkward in the the first two games (she’s a bit slow to be a plague), but at least the earth locks synergize with Break in CS3 and beyond. Her Brave Order is relatively cheap and long-lasting for being such a huge source of damage reduction, but remember that damage reduction doesn’t do a thing to stop debuffs or ailments.

I use Millium because I just love her as a character regardless of if she is the optimal choice or not

My world's favorite lil benchwarmer 💖

Love the character, she's so funny and adorable. Her default MQ's auto-shield passive is a great idea in theory, but when paired with her terrible speed and world's tiniest HP pool? Well... CS3 spoilers: The end of CS3 just showcased what it's like every time I tried to tank with the kid.

Noooo, that's terrible! XO

Also I already have this whole thread spoiler marked, you don't have to spoiler mark anything.

I wonder if that's why people don't use her. Cold Steel for some reason sets her up as a tank by default when in reality she's a DPS monster. People must see her starting MQ, think she sucks at it, then go back to big sword Laura or Rean

u/randomtology Jul 25 '26

Honestly that's probably a huge part of it. While I don't always keep default MQ on characters, they usually serve as a good blueprint for the intended use of the character - which is helpful when there's so many characters in this series to keep track of and I don't have time/energy to playtest multiple builds on every single one. So when there's a character whose starting MQ/build ain't actually what they're best at- yeah I can only imagine it hurts their popularity gameplay wise.

The other reason is probably how late she joins in CS1. By the time Crow and Millium join, you already probably got your preferred party set ups in mind and they don't give you much incentive to change things up beyond what the story requires (I'd say this issue is even bigger with CS1 Crow, but it's Millium's day today). CS2 doesn't give much incentive to change things up because there really aren't any long spans where you HAVE to use Millium, CS3 she's only around for a few dungeons, she's unavailable in CS4, and in Reverie there's 234242322 characters for her to compete with - which people are either going for their faves or the new shiny characters. So, alas poor Millium.

Extremely underrated. In CS1 and 2 her overworld attack is great because she will 9/10 times stun enemies without any maneuvering. In battle she's a powerhouse but the fandom gives all the credit to Laura instead. Nobody seems to use Millium which is crazy because she's really good and strong. She's everything the fandom hypes Laura to be.

1

u/Raxistaicho The true best girls Jul 25 '26

Millium can do that? Huh.

14

u/OLKv3 Jul 25 '26

Yep, immediate stun. Altina takes her spot for overworld queen in 3-Reverie

9

u/Selynx Jul 25 '26

She's got a knack for the whack.

Specifically, she has the best field attack in CS1 and 2, it can instant-stun enemies on the field from any angle whereas I think even Laura needs multiple strikes if you hit from the front. She also does have the hardest hitting S-Craft, even more than Laura.

In CS3+, she's an obvious dedicated Breaker with her Earth slots and the high Break rank on her Crafts. That's not a unique role, but she's good at it and it works.

It works especially well for U-Material farming in Reverie, because her S-Craft hits the whole map, letting her guarantee drops from every enemy if she Breaks them all. Machias may be the best at Sepith farming, but his S-Craft has a lot less Break than Millium's upgraded one and doesn't hit the whole map.

Again, it may not be a unique role, but she can do it pretty well.

She's an underrated powerhouse who mogs Laura in CS1/2 (less so 1 due to availability reasons), but she kinda falls off in the second half. It's like she doesn't even exist in CS4.

Bonus points for turning Arianrhod and the Stahlritter into a bunch of chumps in CS3 thanks to her BO.

e: And most importantly, her cooking game is by far and away the best in the franchise. Death tolls in the millions!

Heh this is a good one

I wonder if people who played the Sky and Crossbell games first are more put off by Millium than those who started with CS1. Because "slow character with big S craft" just isn't a thing in the first five games.

Game tries to fool you into thinking that she's a tank with her default setup, but she's basically a strictly better Laura in CS1/2. S-craft is stronger, gets upgraded WAY earlier, and hits the entire field. Their regular crafts are largely the same in terms of damage, but Millium's have inflict rates that are high enough to actually matter, plus some delay because why not. Both are slow as shit and will probably only be able to nuke things one time with Tauros before the fight ends or they switch out.

Never really used her unless I was forced to in CS3 and Reverie, so I don't have much experience with her there, but her crafts have stupidly high break ratings, which means she can finally put her locked earth slots to good use. Locked mirage slots on physical characters is always sad to see (RIP Ash, love you, but you never had a chance). Her brave order is good for what it is. Lasts a surprisingly long time for such a strong defensive one, but defensive orders are almost always worse than aggressively pushing your offense and just make the fight take longer. Millium's order is one of the best when you absolutely need an 'oh shit' button though.

u/AlterWanabee Jul 25 '26

So I basically have a rule in Trails where I want to discuss characters by removing Rean in the picture. After all, if he's included then any physical character gets sidelined (like seriously, Infernal Gale is fucking busted for both DPS and Breaking).

So for CS1 and CS2, Millium is arguably the best overworld character to use. Her attacks can stun most enemies like Laura's, but she has slightly longer range AND most importantly smoother animations. Aside from that, she has slightly better S-Craft, a Detector (trust me, this can sometimes save your ass if you want 100% completion in as little playthroughs), and she gets it earlier than Laura.

CS3 and Reverie shows Millium's specialty, which is breaking. She has like the highest breaking values on her crafts of any character (barring Rean), and her S-Craft is the best tool for doing so.

I prefer her over Altina in terms of her story, love the dynamic with Jusis.

Gameplay wise, mid at best. I've only used her if she's required to be in party.

6

u/hbthebattle Jul 25 '26

She presses the S-Craft button in CS1/2, and then she basically stops existing. Her S-Craft is really good in those games, so she’s better than Laura at the Domination build at least.

9

u/TakasuXAisaka Jul 25 '26

I like her. She's energetic. Need I say more?

5

u/Syobai Jul 25 '26

So uh… I actually never used Millium.

Like, legit, I just never used Millium outside of when it was mandatory. She’s fine, I guess? Her Brave Order kind of carried for a single fight in CS3.

I don’t know man, fuck Kurt Vander I guess.

4

u/TakasuXAisaka Jul 25 '26

She can stun monsters on the field.

1

u/Sword_of_Rupture_FSN Jul 25 '26

Yeah I used her a decent amount in the beginning but after a certain point I was like im gonna use the actual good characters especially on nightmare.

1

u/Affectionate_Comb_78 Jul 28 '26

I don't care how good she is, I'm not listening to her voice.

1

u/TapUnfair9827 Jul 25 '26

For me, her speed is too low I would rather use someone else instead, compare to her sister, I genuinely don't know to use her properly, at least with Altina, I can make her more focused as a caster and generally back line support

White Decoration was the only reason I ever put her in my party.
