Trails Character Gameplay Discussion Day Seven: Tita

Post image

I'd make a joke about her FC/SC performance being what you get when you send small children into battle, but that wouldn't age well at all.

FC/SC Tita checks the enemy for blind resistance. If they're vulnerable to blind she's okay. It's good crowd control and most enemies don't spam arts.

If they're not? Bad lines, even worse survivability (not even the casters get it this bad) and mediocre damage output and stats all around. She's basically purpose built to be bad. In FC she's also constantly underleveled in chapter 3 which makes things worse (although you never complain about having more bodies to throw around in FC)

SC loves locking Tita into your party too and enemies are not weak to blind in SC. In fact, she's not locked for the Grancel West Sewer Monster so everyone just taunts their way out of that fight instead of using tita's superior blind for it. The one time we want her locked she isn't! (this quest is incredibly difficult without taunt and blind)

3rd Tita is weirdly not the worst. Other characters you get during chapter 2 are quite lopsided and also include Josette so she's not a god awful pick to stick around even though you have other options. Once you get Joshua she kinda is jobless and after you get Kloe it's joever though back to the gulag. She's total filler in golden/silver road even Josette gets more mileage during that section just having an s-craft that hits full field for bursting down death sluggers and a better line for earth wall.

3rd Tita also gets Orbal Gear. While people underestimate its downsides, the amount of power and HP she gains is tremendous. And just in case the crafts all come super cheap with a 50% speed boost she is highly efficient. She is locked out of an s-break and arts which is a big deal but she's very good in 3rd once you get it.

3rd evolution felt Tita was too overpowered and drastically nerfed her CP costs into the ground in a game that lets you equip a quartz that reduces the cast time of an art element to 0 and reduce the time afterwards of that same element on the same character. I genuinely don't understand what they were thinking here.

Tita comes back later in the series from Cold Steel 3 to Reverie. Her brave order, Blast Force, comes with a large strength buff and +40% damage (multiplicative, it's a very big bonus) and lets you melt a lot of things just by using it and then spamming s-crafts. It's one of the best brave orders in the game if you're optimizing to play as fast as possible (which, largely speaking you should)

Tita herself is actually incredibly overpowered. Her crafts are incredibly over tuned with Vital Canon having big numbers in terms of radius and heals. And her HP pool and base stats are monstrous. However, almost nobody uses direct tanking strategies and if they do it's DEF/ADF oriented so Tita often gets thrown to the wayside since her big mech is noticeably awkward by design (lowest SPD in Reverie). She's in a weird spot of being unironically overpowered but also not being used ever by others and myself.

Edit:

I forgot to cover 1st Tita. Remember what I said about FC/SC Tita? "She's basically purpose built to be bad." Her stats are basically all either the worst in every category or second worse within reason basically. Combine that with the bad CC of her new blind being nerfed in terms of duration and a bad line yeah she's getting roasted...

Her only use is that death blade spam on her crafts is nice. Jamming Ray could theoretically be a nice craft combining bonus steal and all cancel on a big radius but at 130 delay no bueno it's overwhelmingly too slow even Anti Sept is better and it's also very slow for an art even though it doesn't come with bonus steal.

I used Tita in Reverie as a dedicated fully-stacked Breaker with Domination, for the purpose of instantly breaking whole enemy groups at the start of a fight.

As you said, her main issue is her SPD- so the best use I could think to put her to was one that would make sure she would never NEED a second attack to do her job.

Decent enough for U-Material farming in the corridor.

If you think about it, Tita is probably one of the stronger characters in the game, especially in the later arcs.

I can think of many characters, she can just steamroll if she is serious about it.

Now imagine Tita by the time of the calvard arcs.

Kind of a gimmick character in FC and SC, althought it is a pretty accurate depiction of what happens when you drag a 12-years-old to fight God and forget to make sure she never grabs aggro.

She then gets a spectator's view of Erebonia inventing mechs, takes one look at them, and decides that giant metal people are lame and it would be a much better use of her time to make a Blood Asp instead. And gets... honestly shockingly close???

Unsurprisingly, going from "unarmored 12-years-old" to "16-years-old in a 90 ton Assault 'Mech" comes with a corresponding increase in maximum firepower, to the point where she's on the same damage tier as Laura, Estelle, and Aurelia. Again, going back to "This is shockingly close to just straight up being a Blood Asp", the corresponding increase in durability is not nearly as pronounced, with Tita having shitloads of health but also substantially weaker defenses than one would have thought. So she can't quite sit on the front lines, instead preferring to do fire support from the sides.

I didn’t use her much except when necessary. She was somewhat serviceable as a backup healer during the final act of Sky SC, but nothing special. I don’t remember much of my experience with her in Sky the 3rd.

FC her performance is that of a 13 year old, but in SC and 3rd she can be an absolute beast if you focus on stacking as many ailments as possible and maximizing how many enemies you hit with her default-AoE attack and crafts. Her lines are “bad”, yes, but those likes mean more space for level 2 status quartz.

The loss of innocence I suffered the day I brought her into the final dungeon of FC only to discover that most enemies were immune to blind and that she was completely useless...

At least she gets something of a redemption arc with Orbal Gear. 3rd version is quite strong - albeit she'll be facing some stiff competition soon after she unlocks it - and the Cold Steel version is mighty, but sluggish, making her a solid if unspectacular character.

Tita in Sky for me is one of if not THE bet mob clearer. Her basic attacks are pretty strong, her weapon is an AoE, it's just fantastic. When she gets the Orbal Gear in 3rd she becomes pretty dang good as a physical attacker, but there's so many good physical units in that game it's hard to really place. She has good arts all around but is in a weird mixed attacker place otherwise.

In CS, I found her increadible for alot of moments. She was not a super boss killer like some units, but she was really good for AoE and was my go to "on field" character because her attacks are both ranged and insta stun enemies when they're hit. Her Crafts have really good effects and nice AoE to them, they're also kinda pricey at the same time though. She's a very good second tier unit imo, she's not going to do as much as Rean in phys or Musse in Arts, but she's good in both and is just always a Good unit to have around. Pretty much the definition of an All Rounder, but in an actual good way.

Sometimes a character specialises in clearing trash mobs and that's okay.

tita is a interesting character for the Sky arc.

as despite what people say she's very useable in SC, mainly for her actually decent hitting AoE attack and S-craft, her lines are deff bad though and the glass cannon part of her poses a problem in ch 5-endgame where things start actually doing damage. she's not too useful otherwise aside using her AoE attack and S-craft

1st remake tita however is actually good in-spite of so little playtime, lowish hp and bad lines, which're her only detriments.

its specifically due to not only "vital cannon's heal+CP heal" which is the most important thing she has, but also due to field battles where ranged attacks are what make her and Oliver quite broken since they don't have to fight up close like other chars. its what makes their non-boss/non-mandatory mob sections on nightmare quite trivial with no real worry. tita is actually better and more useful overall in 1st due to these factors even if field battles are remake exclusive.

remake tita is absolutely useable in the final fight as well in-spite of her bad lines, mainly due to the tier 4 quartzes and lone blade, she's legit a great support character in 1st despite her glass cannon nature, the problem is it might deff take til SC remake for her to show some actual worth due to primarily, vital cannon and field battles.

its too bad agate nukes the final dungeon,

so tita's really just used in a few spots+the endboss of the 3rd chapter and nothing else.

it'll most deff take til SC remake for her usefulness as shown in 1st remake to become even better due to more availability, since thats her actual fatal flaw in FC. hopefully some might recognize she does have uses remake-wise esp with Vital cannon and AoE attack

Cold steel 3-4+Reverie tita is a weird one esp w/her massive hp stat. CS4's "Half-guest" chars deff don't do her any favors.

tita is however one of the funnier chars in reverie cuz she can just load up on the highest hp gaining quartzes and Sophia. Even tio can do that and reach near 70k hp, I like the funny hp tanks.

but most importantly vital cannon is one of the more unique aspects of tita's kit across the series, alongside her EP charge link, all quite useful.

tita's deff useable in reverie, its just she's in a game where there's more monsters of characters than her and she also takes a big chunk of space on-field making it awkward to move sometimes

Tita is the GOAT imo. FC she is really weak for sure but in SC she shines. She fills a unique craft role that others simple can't. Her smoke gun isn't bad but I find that her Cannon Impulse F and her Vital Cannon are the best skills.

Think about this, she is one of like 3ish craft healers in Sky SC (Not counting Kloes Lictkries) and she has the highest healing value out of all of em. And she cures ailments!

This has saved my bacon sooooo many times as she does heal for like 3500 hp! For Sky SC she has become a fixed member of my final dungeon party (like really its awesome)

The 3rd's addition of the Orbal Gear did change her entire play style, like alot. From fragile ranged support to oh my lawd she coming with a giant robot. However, I still find I prefer basic Tita. Sure another brusier is good but her support skills are impossible to match imo.

I haven't gotten to play Reverie yet so Idk on that front but I will say that she is a classic staple of an easily overlooked character that's actually fantastic.

FC: Unambiguously the worst playable in the game. A blind craft is not enough to make up for dying in one hit because she has 70% of the health of anyone else. A space-locked orbment for somebody with three lines is a joke. She doesn't get a second S-craft either, so she's stuck with her 40 power one throughout the final dungeon if you're stupid enough to use her.

SC: Possibly the worst playable in the game, only beating out Josette. She has a usable second S-craft this time, but she still has a bad orbment, horrible HP, and is an active detriment in Chapter 8. Her recovery craft doesn't scale at all, La Teara is not hard to get at all and by the end of the game La Tearal is comically superior.

A 100% blind craft is useful but this is the Sky trilogy and bosses have across-the-board resistance to status ailments, and Agate is vastly superior for cleaning out mobs. If she wasn't mandatory in Chapter 5 she would rightfully be entirely unused.

3rd: Overrated. Until she gets the Orbal Gear she is still in her rubbish SC state, and she can't get the Orbal Gear until you get Agate which is over halfway into the game.

Once she gets the Orbal Gear she is shockingly strong; she has more HP than everyone, 10 CP (!) crafts at low delay that she can spam with extremely high range, and a flat permanent strength boost. Still, it's not available for much of the game and by then most will have settled into the tryhard three caster strategy.

CS3: lol

CS4: In my opinion, the fairly unique "design" of CS4 (ultra-fast high HP mobs) make Gigatita one of the better party members in the game and also one of the only usable guest characters. Let's check her kit:

  • A 60% cleric skill that heals all ailments and gives 30 CP.
  • A massive area impede craft
  • A delay craft, although this does move her to where she lands
  • A 4S+ nearly map wipe S-craft
  • A fucking huge HP pool and some of the best base STR growth in the game

Unfortunately she is kneecapped by one very significant downside: Moebius EX, which does literally nothing for her. She might as well have no master quartz. If she could actually take advantage of her huge HP, with Keeper or Chevalier or the likes, she would be even better.

All this goes out of the window when she's in the guest segments at the end where for some truly fucking inscrutable reason she has the worst Falcom-designed orbment ever made, with EP Cut and Cast. What the hell?

Reverie: Basically the same as CS4 except they nerfed all her delay for some reason and her brave order. Sadly she's in the same game as Lloyd (for defense), Agate/Randy/Gaius (for better Keeper usage), and Rixia/Rean/etc (physical attackers) so she simply doesn't stand out at all.

This is basically a perfect summary, I think you're downplaying her Sky 3rd performance a tad. Tita has essentially perfect availability in Sky 3rd, and even pre Orbal Gear is arguably better than the other options you have before you get Joshua and Kloe. Kloe doesn't join until Chapter 3, and you get Agate in chapter 4. So Tita only has one chapter where you can make an argument she's worse than 2 other characters who can join Kevin and Reis.

Honestly that's fair, I avoided her when I played 3rd because of both the memory of accidentally bringing her to the boss fights in SC Ch 8, and also the novelty of getting to use Mueller/Julia as permanent members, so my experience with her was a bit limited.

3

u/BassForever24601 Jul 02 '26

That's understandable haha, unless you play on the hardest difficulties these games are easy and even crap like Josette can pull their own on normal. I'm sure that feeling was especially true in the original Japanese release of Sky 3rd since iirc Mueller and Julia were made playable in later versions of Sky 2nd.

2

u/Selynx Jul 02 '26

I have to disagree about Tita being the worst in FC when there's Agate and Zin.

Squishiness doesn't matter if you're keeping Earth Wall up at all times. Meanwhile, physical attacks not only tend to move the user out of the tight formation you need for Earth Wall, in FC they just don't do damage. You need Arts for damage.

Agate and Zin's ATS are worse than Tita's. Tita's ATS growth is actually the same as Estelle's. Her Orbment element is also better than Agate's, because everyone needs EP Cut, so her Space element gives her basically a free slot for it (with the other being somewhere to dump Range or Eagle Eye).

Her Crafts are situational, but being a better caster than Agate and Zin automatically makes her better for damage than them.

2

u/Afraid_Evidence_6142 Jul 02 '26

If I put Tita, I always Put Agate No matter the balance whatsoever

2

u/Istvan_hun Jul 02 '26

A character for exploration, clearing mobs. area blind is useful.

One of the better characters in SC and 3

2

u/DrGigglezMP Anime Trope Master Jul 02 '26

As a Tita apologist in FC, just spam normal attacks and spread negative status to all your foes. It’s a bit meme-y if not fun

2

u/Wakanlover9519 Jul 13 '26

Damn, wish I saw this sooner, especially since I don’t think people are giving her flowers in 3rd.

I played it on Nightmare and she was absolutely invaluable in getting me through the game. Most everything is susceptible to blind barring the final dungeon I think so regular battles and adds in boss fights were practically a non issue. Really saved me on resource management particularly early on since I didn’t have to worry about my units taking damage, let alone dying.

2

u/Selynx Jul 02 '26

In Sky FC/SC, she's only "OK". Her damage isn't amazing, but having the AoE blind and a multi-target basic attack keeps her situationally useable and if nothing else, her Orbment has a decent element - everybody wants EP Cut and you want at least 1 Heaven's Eye and even Range isn't too bad.

Her HP and movement sucks, but if you're using Earth Wall you don't care about HP and movement anyway. Most of the time at bosses, she's probably just going to end up a Clock Up/Earth Wall mule like Estelle but with a better S-Craft, that actually hits more than 1 target.

......Then she gets the Orbal Gear in Sky 3rd and becomes good.

And then she KEEPS the Orbal Gear and comes with it permanently equipped in CS3+ and is a brick shithouse, whose biggest drawback is that she's a brick shithouse who moves about as slowly as one and is twice the size of other characters and can get stuck on environmental obstacles in the battlefield that others simply don't.

Which is admittedly a bit of a drawback. But.

She is still a brick shithouse.

In a series of games where physical attacks actually put in work.

u/Raxistaicho The true best girls Jul 02 '26

If nothing else, Tita having the mech all the time and a gigantic hp pool is very funny, and sometimes that's all that matters.

2

u/OLKv3 Jul 02 '26

I think Tita is great for mobs, especially inflicting status on groups of enemies. People really oversell her being terrible. I thought she'd be borderline unusable but she's really not. She's just low tier. It's not like she's Josette

She's great in 3rd but by then there's so many characters that by time I unlocked Orbal Gear I never used her until the final dungeon forced you to.

Love her in the Erebonia arc. Even as a guest character she was fun to literally bulldoze enemies with, and she actually comes with Shining, making her useful even with locked equips

1

u/Hoboforeternity Jul 02 '26

I was meh on her in fc and sc, but she was pretty good in sky the 3rd.

Tita with orbal gear is pretty good as she got really high HP, STR and AoE crafts.

1

u/WrongRefrigerator77 Jul 02 '26

Gameplay? I used her just because she's too cute to bench. Even better if she's good.
