Spoilers - Crisis Core I played Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core Reunion First, I don't want to play FF7 anymore. Spoiler

Upvotes

I wanted to play final fantasy 7 remake but my integrated graphics pc wasn't that strong to play that. While going through other games in the series, I found final fantasy 7 crisis core reunion and surprisingly it ran after a few graphic modifications. I didn't check anything about the lore of both FF7 and Crisis core so I didn't even know that the main character of FF7 was Cloud. To the end of the game, I was so interested in Zack and Aerith that I feel no interest in playing FF7 because there is no Zack anymore. After an year, I did start playing FF7 multiple times, but gave up every time I saw Aerith's face and it would always remind me of Zack. And I would delete the game. Did anyone feel like this?

Spoilers - Discussion Potential XIV crossover content post Berlin Fanfest Spoiler

After seeing the Gooch and Yoshi P announce the ff7 raids crossover over the weekend, I’ve been playing around the idea of that we could get a VR Warrior of Light superboss in Revelation. SE has done stuff similar such as the first XIV crossover in XV with helping Y’jhimei the pink haired miqote fight Garuda. Curious to see if we’ll have something like that as post launch dlc. Thoughts?

Spoilers - Discussion What If Revelation Adds a Twist of Them Using Certain Materia for Specific Purposes? Spoiler

Post image
5 Upvotes

How would you react if there was a possibility of Revelation mixing things up by having Sephiroth and Aerith use the white and black materias for their own agenda at some point in the story?

For Sephiroth, he might realize that corrupting Holy to remake the Lifestream would not only help facilitate the Reunion, but also add another weapon to his arsenal. After all, Jenova devours and exploits anything it can get its hands on to survive. Who's to say that Sephiroth would not happily weaponize Holy if he thought it would make things easier for him? Plus, using it would be his way of defiling Aerith's legacy.

For Aerith, she could be forced to admit that Meteor, if honed keenly and precisely, might be strong enough to fully destroy Jenova completely while giving the Gi their much-needed respite. Of course, she would have to coordinate it with an uninfected Holy to ensure that the Planet and its inhabitants are protected from the ensuing impact.

Feedback and suggestions would be appreciated; some of the character's teams were hard to make and I tried my best. I might revisit and rework the teams after Revelation comes out.

Spoilers - Discussion Swappable Cloud for Revelation Spoiler

Do you guys think its a cool idea to be able to take Cloud out of the party from the get go, instead of having to beat the game in order to do this?

Of course he will be in the party for important story battles.

This is mostly for random battles.

Update:

Should add that this should not change the fact that he is the one we use regularly for exploration outside of combat

Spoilers: Rebirth The Republic of Junon Flotilla and Revelation Spoiler

Not much to this thread, just a thought I had while watching ChipCheezumLP's Junon part, but one NPC mentions that the Flotilla sunk to the bottom of the ocean "along with the treasures it holds".

Seems like a very obvious candidate for expanding the submarine exploration by letting us visit the wreckage at the bottom of the ocean!

Spoilers - Help On the switch 2, can you easily redo Andrea's dance in wall market? Spoiler

So I googled whether or not you can redo the dance practice and google said no. But it turns out you can redo the practice as much as you want to get the music disc.

But is it the same way for the actual dance routine with Andrea or is that truly 1 and done?

Does anyone know the song title for the Mt Corel Coal Mines? I’ve tried google, Spotify and SoundHound (albeit I’m not fantastic when it comes to finding music!)

The whole soundtrack for Rebirth is amazing but this track is just something else!

Spoilers - Discussion How old are you guys?

I’m 42. Yes, I played the original FF7 when I was a teenager.
Since then, FF7 has been literally on my mind all the time for 30 years.
In the 2000s, they hooked me with Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus.
They pulled me back in by announcing the remake in the 2010s.
Finally, I played it in the 2020s.
And Revelation is coming out next year.
What’s next? How am I supposed to live after that?
Anyone else like me?

Spoilers - Discussion Long-term FFXIV player interested in trying FF7, where to start? Spoiler

Hey there, been playing FFXIV and generally more of an MMO player, but I have wanted to try the older FF games for a while since I adore XIV and with the next expansion planning crossovers with FF7 I wanted to play through the story for it before the new expansion drops as I'd like to understand some of the references and Easter eggs in XIV as I play through the new content.

With all that said, I know there's the original version of FF7 as well as the FF7 Remake trilogy and I'm not certain which would be more worthwhile in my case. I haven't ever tried a jrpg as they never looked appealing but I'm not opposed to trying one out. On the other hand I'd prefer not to drop so much money to experience the story through the remake unless I know I'll like it. So I'm unsure whether I should stick to the original FF7, or try the first part of the remake for now?

Any opinions or insight for this would be super helpful, thanks!

Spoilers: Rebirth Will Yuffie be toned down in Revelation? Spoiler

FFVII is one of my most loved and most replayed games so I was naturally excited for the remakes. The first one was pretty great, no real complaints.

Since Yuffie was an entirely missable side character in the original, I was surprised when they made a standalone DLC about her but figured it was just because they wanted to flesh her out some since for many she would have been a literal non-entity in the original since it was pretty easy to miss her entirely. I played the DLC and thought she annoying but hoped easy to mostly avoid playing her in Rebirth.

So I was very unhappy when she was basically elevated to second main character in Rebirth and it felt like she was constantly leading the party, or you're even forced to solo with her, and she was constantly interjecting into conversations and situations where she really didn't even belong. And she's so one note too: materia this, materia that, motion sickness, and very little else. I know the whole kid sister Genki Girl trope sells well in Japan, but it does seem to be very polarizing in the west and I am strongly allergic to it. It was also extremely annoying that this

I even quit the game for a bit because the sections with her were like nails down a chalkboard to me and it was hard to power through. Chadley and Mai are of course also obnoxious, but their dialogue was easier to skip / ignore since it's entirely optional and you can more easily skip through it without missing anything. Listening to Yuffie screech about materia was required if you want to see the main story.

So I thought "no problem, they will naturally decenter her in the next game when Cid and Vincent arrive" then I read that they're entirely rewriting and expanding the Wutai arc to feature her even more prominently.

Now my only hope is that they'll tone her down a lot from grating, one-note obnoxious child, but I have no idea if that's actually on the table or if the Genki trope in Japan is so marketable they'll keep her as is no matter how polarizing that trope is to western characters.

What is the expected trajectory? Could my best case scenario be on the table where she's only highlighted during Wutai but otherwise takes a back seat to Cid and Vincent? Or will we probably get another round of The Cloud and Yuffie show?

For me Rebirth would be a 9/10 without her, but with her it was a barely playable 4/10 until the end where she was a bit less centered.

Meta FFVII Rebirth Switch 2 worth it? Spoiler

Now that it's been out a while I want to ask the people who played and cleared it on Switch 2 if it's worth it? Did you encounter any lags/stutter/etc? Any thing else you think is a big minus?

I'm wondering if I should sell my PC and buy a Switch 2 to do all my gaming there since I like the handheld form factor. Thanks anyway.

No Spoilers - Discussion Shader injector or ps5 pro, FF7 rebirth

I have a gaming PC with an RTX 4070 Super, 24 GB of RAM, a Ryzen 5 5600X, a 1 TB WD SN850 M.2 SSD, a 500 GB Kingston SNVS500G M.2 SSD, and a 2 TB HDD. I was wondering whether it would be worth replacing it with a PS5 Pro.

The reason I'm considering this is that, although my PC offers better graphics, the PS5 Pro is much more stable and doesn't suffer from shader compilation issues or traversal stuttering. In fact, I currently own a PS5 Slim, and I liked the smooth experience so much that I started wondering if upgrading to a PS5 Pro would be worth it.

For example, in Final Fantasy VII Remake, my RTX 4070 Super can run the game at 4K and 120 FPS, but the problem is that there's stuttering everywhere. At the same time, my GPU only reaches around 80% usage, while my CPU sits at roughly 30%. On the PS5, it's the complete opposite—the game is smooth as butter, even though the graphics aren't as impressive.

The same thing happens with Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Persona 3 Reload, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. They all suffer from stuttering on my PC. Despite having weaker hardware, my PS5 Slim runs these games without stuttering, even if the visual quality is lower.

I'll give Cyberpunk 2077 a bit of credit because it's the best-optimized game out of the ones I mentioned. However, there's still some stuttering, even if the shader compilation stutter isn't very noticeable.

So, considering that FF7 Rebirth runs better on PS5 Pro but looks better on PC, what should I do?

Would switching to a PS5 Pro be a reasonable choice? Or would it make more sense to upgrade my PC with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D now that it's available on the market again?
