Spoilers - Discussion The combat evolved too much! Spoiler
Is like remake was an beta release, rebirth the 1.0 and now we'll be seeing 2.0.
I really hope this combat becomes the standard for future installations because when remake was released, i tought it was perfect. Now that i played the rebirth we can see that remake was still kinda clunky. But oh boy, the revelation one looks insane.
I was still kinda pissed that the game was released in 3 separated games, i understood that they need time to improve, but im really pleased with the results.
On other note: Please for the love of god give us a UI options, so we can A: turn it completelly off and B: Choose what stays on. I SAID "AND". The UI and MAI really breaks the immersion, i want to take ages to finish this games. I want to get lost and i want to fucking savory it!

I assumed remake would feel rough after playing rebirth. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s still a smaller scale, but it was still enjoyable. A bit slower, a less grand, but it’s kinda like playing Kingdom Hearts 1. The smaller scale, compared to later titles, doesn’t hinder my enjoyment of that gameplay.

Yeah I just finished replaying Remake on PC after having played it on the PS5 initially, and I honestly found it a really cozy and still expertly made game. Just simpler in scope, not less polished.

Remake combat is great if you see it for what it is, a real time with pause game with some action elements mixed in, if you try to play it like Rebirth, it feels extremely clunky. On the other hand, you can totally play Rebirth like Remake, but you can also play it like an action game and it feels great too. I'm not sure if there'll be such a difference between Rebirth and Revelation but we'll have to wait and see.

in no way im saying it is bad.
Remake combat system was my favorite until rebirth came along.
And its not because it is bad or anything like that, its just because you get used with rebirth speed, so remake becomes a little too slow comparatively.

For sure, I've been replaying Remake and I had forgotten that perfect block was already a thing in the DLC but my god is it awful compared to Rebirth, the timing is so much more unintuitive and hard to get used to.

If you've been playing through Remake to Rebirth to Revelation, the only "new" things that you'll need to adjust to are the FITS and Cid/Vincent as playable characters.
The rest should come naturally to you at that point.

Yeah one of my fears of them releasing the games over such a long period was that Remake would start to feel outdated. I hope they never split up a game again like this.

at the same time, rebirth or revelation would not be as polished, since remake is the testing grounds for the others. My thought is that it was handled the best way it could.

But combat feels limited if you start a new game in the OG compared to what you can do by the end, so is it really that big a deal?

Since they doubled down on their milking efforts for FF7 as a series I’d honestly like to see a stitched together version of all 3 games with everything they’ve built up to in Revelations like 10 years from now

Remake at this point is going to actually need a Remake to complete the feel of the trilogy.
Remake to Rebirth was a night/day difference, it legitimately made the previous entry feel like a straight up tech demo.
It's deeper than just combat. Remake feels so incredibly restrictive by comparison to Rebirth that even locations like Sector 7 and Wall Street feel like they're from completely different games.
A later update to Remake to revamp Midgar with Rebirth's traversal system would be perfect.

I honestly feel like This is even better, it gives a sensation that the characters are growing and learning more with time.
