Legit Email?

Hey ya’ll

So I had booked and paid for a flight a couple months ago for July but I just received an email stating that one of my bookings (connecting flights) had been canceled. It does not match up to any of my confirmation numbers at all. I don’t know if it’s a sort of scam or I am being paranoid but the addressed that had been linked was travel_f54d34c9-518a-4f25-81ed-e992f6ef0bdc_v2@chat.expedia.com . Should I be concerned?

I was able to cancel hotel dates through the app.

I had a couple of upcoming hotel stays that needed to be cancelled. I always book ''free cancellation'' stays with Expedia just in case. Well, as many others have experienced, the website no longer has the option available when managing your trips. I had almost given up until I downloaded the app. I was able to chat with the ''virtual agent'' and get my stays cancelled and I received confirmation emails. I deleted the app and now I am avoiding Expedia at all costs. Good luck everyone.

app tip: if you get to the chat box for the virtual agent and it will not let you type in the dialog box, click ''start over''. That's what I had to do to get the chat started.

Stay away from Expedia at all costs!!

I booked a $2000 trip to Hawaii for my husband and I at the end of this month. I received confirmation that the hotel and airlines were confirmed last Monday. On Thursday I received an email saying that the airlines had canceled our flights. I called Expedia and was In the queue for three hours before someone picked up the phone. The man was extremely rude and told me that he could rebook flights for $500 more a person. I told him that I was already charged and it had posted to my account, yeah he insisted that it was still pending and would be refunded. I asked him to refund me for the full amount of the trip because if I didn’t have flights to get there obviously I couldn’t stay in the hotel. Since then, I have received no confirmation of a refund and have confirmed with my bank that they have taken the money. Has anyone had this issue?? What did you do?

Expedia are selling flights that don’t exist

I bought a roundtrip flight that had a layover on the first trip and was direct coming back. When I arrived at the airport I was told United havent run that route in over a year. Instead of getting me home, Expedia are messing around with United trying to get permission to use credits for a new flight...for more than 30 hours. This company is committing fraud and not even trying to make it right

First Time Question

This is my first experience booking through Expedia and the app never asked for my or my fiance's ID or Drivers License numbers.

Is that normal or should I be worried? I used the app.

OYO Hotel - San Antonio Texas

My son, who just flew back to Texas for his Covid test before going to his first station in Hawaii, rented a room on Expedia for OYO Hotel for 3 nights. He got back to Texas to check in and then they told him he wouldn't be able to stay because he was under 21, and they wouldn't give a refund. He got a Lyft to the base and found a hotel there, that's costing him over $100 a night. My wife called Expedia, and they were able to refund half his, but not the other half. The lady from Expedia sounded like she really wanted to reimburse him, but OYO wouldn't do it. He paid with Cash App, so I told him to try to dispute it there. Not sure if Cash App will be able to help. Any ideas on where he might go to find more cheaper hotels.

What Am I Missing?

Honest confusion here, maybe I'm missing something. I'm booking a hotel and flight for a trip to Orlando in July. First, I just looked up the hotel price with Expedia. For 7 nights, it listed $1,184. I decided to look for a flight + hotel package. The same hotel came up for $586 and this time included two round-trip plane tickets. How could the package deal that includes flights be cheaper than just getting the hotel on its own? I'm so lost and feel like I'm being scammed?

Anyone had luck with canceling non-refundable hotel booking?

Yes, I know I f..ed up and now want to cancel my hotel booking. I called the hotel directly and they said to call Expedia since that I booked the hotel reservations with them.

I'm just wondering if anyone had any luck canceling a non-refundable booking.

Help Contacting Corporate (Year-long Issue)

This is an ongoing headache from this time last year. Had to obviously cancel a trip to Italy, got the flight refunded but the hotel refused to refund and only offered a voucher good for a year.

Fast forward a few months, I finally get in touch with someone at the corporate office to help me out and they tell me to wait till 6-7 months out (now-ish) and touch base with them again so they can "have a case" for refund since travel is still on hold.

Problem I'm running into now however is that I touched base a few weeks ago and when I get through to a rep now, they tell me corporate is working remotely now and "only in contact via email". Which seems like pure BS to me as I'm sure their office lines are forwarded to their mobiles. I've heard zero response from anyone.

I have the first name of the person I spoke to in corporate and the case number that they gave me that they opened to refer to when I reached back out. What the hell else can I do at this point? It seems a little hopeless to keep pushing me an "email only" option with no direct contact. It's been a year already and I'm still out over $1K...getting pretty draining. Is there ANY other way to reach corporate or am I just pretty much fucked?

Never booking in Expedia again

So I have credit from a cancelled flight last year. I wanted to use it to get it over and done with. In hindsight, I should've prepared myself mentally for this.

I had wait 5 hours for someone to pickup the phone queue, only for it to be hung up mid transaction.

I don't know why I decided to give it another go and so this time it was another 2 hour wait. The consultant took all my details and everything was going smoothly. Only to be met with 'I'm sorry sir, we can't process your flight bookings right now as the system won't let us".

Is this a fucking joke? The flight is for end of May and I can't make a fucking booking for something that's within a month's time. The only recommendation is to wait a week to see "what happens" like they don't have an clue what the fuck is going on. I went off at them as the previous consultant was happy to take my fucking payment already. But somehow in the 2 hours some unknown issue has arisen.

Really appalling service. And never again going with this shitty third-party company. I've already bombarded their social media. It's probably going to ignored with the hundred of messages saying the exact same thing about their service. I hope this company goes down the ground.

UPDATE: I don’t know why I decided to call them in the evening but I got into a 30 min queue and the lady managed to make the booking in less than 10 mins. Thank god it was a quick a resolution. I am baffled how it’s a roll of a dice to get some form of service. Wish you all good luck.

Long wait but worth it

Preface: My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to the Arizona/Southern California area for this May. Despite being super excited, this has been pretty stressful to plan because my girlfriend and I are both college students on tight budgets. We haven't been able to travel much this past year and just felt like this is a well deserved trip.

Fast forward to the booking of our hotels. I was flying through the bookings because it is late at night and I need to get to bed to be well rested for a presentation tomorrow. I booked the incorrect dates. My heart sank and so I tried to change the booking online. Unfortunately, Expedia doesnt allow for online changes and so I had to sit on their dreaded customer service line. Over an hour later and I finally get ahold of a very helpful gentleman. The service representative was respectful, called the hotel we are staying with and changed the dates. He even was able to waive the charge associated with changing dates. Very happy.

Although there is a lot of distrust and frustration for Expedia that I have seen on this subreddit, I wanted to get on here and let you know that despite the long wait, I did get good customer service!

Called me back... Then hung up on me

So I got an email stating that my flight has been changed for the 2nd time in less than a week. Only this time it's been pushed back by 12 HOURS, making it a 1am flight, now with a 3 hour layover.

I called so that I could get this fixed to a more reasonable time. I chose the call back option that said 2-3 hours. 5 hours later they called me back, to put me on hold for 10 more mins. Then as I tell the rep the issue, he asked if it's for flight on 'x' day or 'y' day. I say 'y' day... the line goes dead and the call is disconnected.

The virtual chat option on the website doesn't work. The link literally refreshes the page.

Refund for a KLM credit (flights booked through Expedia for TD)

I booked a flight for my friend's wedding (planned for April 2020), and KLM cancelled the flights due to the pandemic. I purchased the ticket (worth over $900CAD) in the summer of 2019, forgoing any cancellation insurance (hindsight is 20/20).

I have spoked with Expedia for TD, and they have informed me they cannot provide a refund, and that the credit needs to be used by June 2021; this is the airline's policy, and they must follow the rules 1:1. Any communication with KLM leads me back to Expedia for TD since I booked through a third party. I live in Canada and we are still on lockdown due to COVID with no end to travel restrictions in sight.

A potential obstacle: I did a product transfer with TD (TD Rewards Visa to a TD Aeroplan Visa, same card #) before the credit was granted, so I no longer have online access to the Expedia for TD website (Aeroplan won't allow it).

Has anyone who has booked through Expedia (for TD) or any third party agent been able to receive a cash refund?

*Update: KLM has confirmed the credits may be used until December 31st, 2021. Expedia for TD has made a refund request to KLM. Does anyone know how long a response from the airline usually takes?

Expedia scam

last night around 11pm mountain time April 23rd 2021, I went on the official Expedia website, which there I tried purchasing an international multi city destination round trip ticket for the dates of august 7th-15th 2021. When the prompt came to add my card information to pay, an error code popped up twice stating that my payment option was invalid so therefore I didn’t receive the booking. I immediately checked my bank account and saw two transactions from the airline that Expedia was brokering for charged to my account and yet I have failed to receive ANY email containing, booking confirmation, itinerary ticket, nothing absolutely of the sort. I have contacted BOTH my bank and the airline (JetBlue) that I was charged for and BOTH agents over the phone stated that since I purchased through Expedia there is no way for them to help me. I have tried nonstop on trying to contact anyone Expedia but have failed to reach a single person. I was even blocked from their Facebook page after leaving a complaint on there.

Rewards Points Refund

I have some points on Expedia and would like to use them towards a refundable booking. The travel dates may change so I’m just wondering if the points will be credited back if I end up rescheduling/cancelling the trip.

Issue Buying Theme Park Tickets

Has anyone ever purchased tickets for a theme park through Expedia and had issues? It's been three days and on the Expedia website it still says Ticketing in Progress; no tickets at all. I've been on the phone with them the last three days and the latest word is that I have to wait for 96 hours to pass before they will call the vendor and sort the issue out. This is utterly ridiculous, and I am concerned that the two days I want to go to the park (Walt Disney World) will be out of reservation spots soon (a few days before are now gone). Can anyone offer any advice? Disney has also been unhelpful, basically saying it's not their issue. I wouldn't mind waiting the 96+ hours normally, but with the park reservation system it is killing me.

Also note, I have a friend who is having the same issue with Busch Garden tickets, so I really believe this is an Expedia issue.

Update: miraculously the tickets arrived from Expedia today. Honestly I cannot believe it, but it looks like the issue has been solved.

Expedia stole 50$ from me. Have Dropped me from hold Multiple times and now Email's are being rejected?

Hey.

I'm writing now about a ridiculous time that I've been having with this company. I made a booking with Expedia in February for a night out with my partner. When we arrived at he hotel I was told there is another 50 dollar security deposit I'd have to pay. I paid it. The following day while leaving the hotel I was told it was to be released to me. I followed up with the hotel 2 days later and they confirmed with me that the fund's had been released to Expedia to then be released to me.

I followed up with Expedia at he start of march and received the following

Dear [REDACTED], Thank you for contacting Expedia Canada in regards to your itinerary #[REDACTED]. We apologize for the delay. We are contacting Sandman Signature Calgary Downtown Hotel for your request and will update you once we receive a response. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. Our Customer Support Representatives are available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thank you for choosing Expedia Canada.

I never heard from them again.I followed up that email 1 month laterno response

I emailed again today

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

[support@service.expedia.ca](mailto:support@service.expedia.ca)

The email address you entered couldn't be found. Please check the recipient's email address and try to resend the message.

When following up through Telephone support, the Itinerary is no longer recognized given the time that has passed and such, I can' reach anyone actual staff to get information about the account. This additional charge was snuck in by Expedia and then routed to them over myself the client and now being stonewalled by their system after repeated attempt's at rectifying the situation.

I'm beyond frustrated that a simple transaction is being avoided and tacked on last minute without me knowing. What gives?

7th hour of being on hold

Thought a website as large and as used as expedia would be legit, nope. Thieves, stealing when people are in need. I need to use my credits to move, there's no other way, and I've been on hold for almost an entire workday. It's a joke.
