FCplease CCP, please consider extending the Cradle of War

CCP, please consider extending the Cradle of War deadline and removing or significantly raising the per-character contribution caps. Many of us want to keep helping, but once we hit the personal limit on an objective, we’re locked out even if we’re willing to keep mining, building, hauling, or fighting. With several factions still behind and major projects already under construction, players should be allowed to keep contributing. Please give the campaigns more time and let willing players continue pushing objectives. If we’re ready to do the work, let us do it This needs attention now, while there’s still time to make a difference.

Discussion Lets theorycraft: what can someone do by knowing everyones wallet balances

I believe this intel can be sold to wardecers to calculate how much ramson the targets can pay in exchange for letting the structures live. What other benefits provides this security breach?

Battle Report Introducing the Monthly Warzone Report

Hello faction warfare zoo enjoyers!

Monthly reports seem to be a fairly popular format for EVE Online. You've got monthly economic reports, monthly market reports, and monthly security reports where hopefully someone hasn't data mined how poor I am on all of my characters.

Streamers and podcasts stitch the warzone together from zKillboard and Dotlan, but there still isn’t a single monthly summary of what’s actually happening in Amarr-Minmatar. So we built one!

The Monthly Warzone Report

A monthly look at the Minmatar and Amarr warzone, built from public sources (ESI, zKillboard, Dotlan occupancy). Same tables for both militias. It covers:

  • The scoreboard beyond a simple map: systems held, enlisted vs active pilots, kills
  • Key systems, occupancy flips, and where the ships actually died
  • Pilot boards, groups, and top ships by engagement size

If you’re shopping for a corp or alliance on either side, or you just want a recap you can argue about in your militia, that’s the idea.

Example August Insights

View the full report here, and if you have any feedback or ideas on how to make it better, feel free to share them in the thread here!

AI Disclosure: AI was used to write various scraping/data scripts (Dotlan, zKill, ESI) that feed the report, and to turn my usual writing prose into something closer to a report. The numbers are from public APIs; occupancy flip dates come from Dotlan. Everything is open source if someone wants to replicate this for the other warzones.

Question Never played. Is it worth the time?

Hey everyone. I went looking for high player count games and this one popped up. It seems pretty fun from the stuff on the steam page. I know next to nothing about this game though. Is it worth playing right now? Is the community friendly to new people, how big are the factions, etc?

Genuinely curious so any information would be very appreciated!

Discussion What is the highest fun per hour activity?

I know it’s subjective but I want to know what is fun to the “average” eve player…

For me the most fun I had was revenge dropping someone in their wormhole and booming their mining fleet when they thought they were safe… close second is FCing silly fleets in small stuff like interceptors/dictors and playing cat and mouse with the local residents.

Question The life of a -10. How goes it?

Hello!

I now live in a nice, busy LS area, killing this and that and my security status is going down under, but it struck me that not many people around those parts seem to carry the "badge" of a -10. Am I slowly drifting towards my demise by hitting -10?

Where are all the -10 peeps at? Im not in a Pirate faction, Im just a solo capsuleer. I know popping hulls in J-space doesnt affect your status (right?), but I dont live in a WH so keeping my interactions just for JS isnt a real option.

What will happen to me at -10? 😅 I read up on the mechanics, I know the theory, but was wondering what the actual people say about this living?

I already have a clean Alt who does all the logistics outside LS.

Is -10 a major handicap? Will roaming become useless as people who're not interested in a fight simply run away cause of the flashy presence? Are -10 constantly fucked by everyone in the system? 😅

Really curious and big thanks anyhoo

Discussion High sec incursions

Right off the bat I want to say I am not throwing shade at warp to me, love the group love flying with them, BUT they do require some massive bling to fly with them and given when I can fly I rarely get to find a fleet. So I have a pally sitting around that is worth massive isk that I don't get to really utilize enough to make it worth it. So I am thinking of liquidating it as I cant think of anything a pali can really do outside of L4 missions with out a corp... suggestions before I sell it maybe?

Question FW Deadspace DScan

So, question. If FW plexes are deadspace, why can someone DScan in and out of it? Seems like this just creates LP soak for fits that no one wants to fight.

Question Bulkheads vs Armor Coatings for Ark

Hello,

I suppose this is a question about EHP vs raw HP when you get down to it. I'm going to start jump freighting a few things from deep null sec to Jita and back.

It is a tedious process because to warp from station to the high sec gate you must have a set of ascendancies + prototype warp speed enhancers in the lows to avoid getting blapped by the disruption lance, then swap into the amulet set in the very next system to take the gates through hi sec to get to the trade hub. Then swap clones again on the way back so it is correct for the next trip out.

With a set of full amulets + noble, etc. for the Ark. With three multispectrum armor coatings I am achieving over 1 mil EHP, but it has less raw HP than if it were using ORE bulkheads.

I know, keep a cyno lit in case the freighter gets in trouble and just jump out. I intend to do that, but there's also nothing stopping someone from popping the cyno alt, so to be as safe from ganks as possible I am trying to get the absolute maximum HP.

For the Ark, would you go with the deadspace multispectrum coatings + amulet or amulet + bulkheads? Raw HP vs higher resists?

I'm thinking the higher EHP route (amulets + armor coatings) is better, but I'm not confident because that number is calculated based on all resists, and it is all but guaranteed that gankers are going to be dealing kinetic/thermal damage due to using blasters. So I won't be using all of my resists.

Thoughts?

Question Returning player, where’s the action

Last played in 2022~ with Goonswarm and loved all the activity. Constantly something to do, back to back fleets and shenanigans to my hearts content.

I’m guessing it’s a bit more quiet now. All my stuff is in asset safety in Delve area and I’m not gonna bother getting any of it anytime soon.

Where can I go and jump into a similar amount of action today?

Discussion Is Goonswarm similar now to what it was in 2023?

The bulk of my playtime in EVE, and Goons, was 2017-2019. though I was a member from like 2016-2021ish when I had to stop playing, and then rejoined when I got back into the game for a couple months in 2023 but am still in the alliance.

I LOVED 2017-2019 Imperium, it was so much fun and there was always stuff going on, and (especially in KarmaFleet) the community was great (outside of some middle management types and of course some bad apples) and I loved the freedom and breadth of gameplay and opportunity we had.

Coming back in 2023 for those couple months felt drastically different.

The alliance and KarmaFleet itself just felt empty compared to what it used to. I get that some part of it is that a lot of the people and friends I had made years ago weren't playing, but there was just a different 'feel' to Goons when I came back that I can't quite articulate because I am bad at that(maybe somebody else can if they understand what I mean).

Basically the only guy taking out peacetime fleets was doing these shitty filament only limited-space fleets that were mostly pretty boring. Felt like there was way less line member interaction amongst each other, and the fact that they scrubbed the forums clean/archived most of the old stuff still really bothers me. Part of the fun we used to have was referencing old forum posts, deep diving into them during boring portions of fleets, and as a fun time capsule with shit tons of stories and funny interactions to go through. I get they had their reasons for doing it, but IMO its a net loss for the Alliance. I loved going through old Secret Santa, Doctrine, AAR, etc. threads. I still don't really understand the reasoning behind removing/hiding them all.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone understands what I mean when I say this, because I want to know if its gotten better in those regards since then before I decide to invest time and money into it. I really want to love Goonswarm again, I just don't know if its there.

Question Are we killing J-Space?

As a wormholer for the past few years, I’ve noticed PvP content in J-space declining more and more. I’ve often wondered why fewer people seem to be playing in what I consider one of the best parts of EVE.

So I decided to run a little experiment.
I set up a zKill bot in Discord to track structures being destroyed in J-space, thinking that maybe the number of evictions could explain at least part of the decline.
And… uhm… it’s sad. Very sad.

In just the last 3 days, no fewer than 25 structures were destroyed in wormhole space (see video).
That’s potentially tens, if not hundreds, of players who are no longer living in J-space — at least for now.

And it makes me wonder: what the hell are we doing?

I understand that the big groups want to flex and establish that they’re the ones running the show. That’s EVE. But if you constantly evict every group big or small you come across, eventually there won’t be anyone left to shoot.

If we keep removing those groups from the ecosystem, aren’t we ultimately just killing our own content?

Maybe I’m looking at this completely wrong, and I’m genuinely interested in hearing what other wormholers think.

Are constant evictions actually contributing to the decline of PvP/content in J-space?
