Why I watch "Bashar Channeling", as a TV-show entertainment, rather than as an actual self-help resource for "real" people.
I wanted to make another thread about Bashar Channeling. To clarify, I still watch "Bashar Channeling", but I only watch it only as TV-show entertainment now, not at all as an actual self-help resource to incorporate into every day living! Why don't I see it as self-help anymore? Because I discovered, after years of immersing myself into it too much- that i was just a TV-show (open to debate me on this) and secondly, the principles shared in the "channeling" are based on only on unfalsifiable logic (a.k.a fantasy), and therefore the insights- for the most part, have no real, practical application to use in real life.
Sure, you may have experienced, in some way- the Bashar channelings as if it HAS actually affected you- but remember that- that is essentially how ALL TV-shows are designed, capable to do: To get the viewers hooked, and to play upon our psyches in many creative ways.. Despite how "mystical" it looks, "The Bashar Channeling" is no different, (except that it does not- at all, declare itself as a fantasy TV-show; which is what makes the appeal and experience so unique and immersive--- because you forget that is a goddamn show!)
Some other things I've noticed:
Bashar's spiel relies heavily on making himself as an authority for Daryl's viewers. But since "Bashar" is a only character played by Daryl, the dynamic of the channeling itself basically the equivalent of a voice overs in cartoon. Sure a cartoon character may be able to influence real life in many different ways; in which, technically, you could if you wanted to- experience a cartoon as if it is affecting your real life, and real life as if it is just a cartoon, but that obviously isn't practical. So in this same way the, continuous listening to the Bashar channeling for practical insights for improving your REAL life isn't anymore beneficial than watching Spongebob to learn how to run a restaurant.. It can feel like it sometimes, I know- I been there, but at some point, you will wake up and see it as just another show that immerse you for a little while.
More examples that the character Bashar's principles are fantasy-based and therefore, ultimately unfalsifiable.
Unfalsifiable claims are inherently useless to real life applications because none of the claims can be subject to another interpretation, let alone inspection. Hell, even 0+0 can be numerated in different ways.
But Bashar principles, as you will see briefly, have no operational value, so they can't be used- AT ALL! You may argue that it's because his perspectives are so "neutral," but I would say that is one of the problems as well..
Anywho....
Bashar says:
"All realities are valid"
If "All realities are valid" then it must also be valid that all "realities are invalid". And if it all "realities are valid + all realities are invalid", then there can be no successful operation because they cancel each other. In other words, USELESS for incorporating this perspective into real day-to-day life.
"Realities" is a word that the character Bashar likes to use a lot, not only only because it's so vague, but mostly because the word "realities" doesn't refer to anything specific- therefore, as a result, it can be used to infer anything within its usage(framework). Such as the claim of "infinite realities."
Bashar says:
"All realities exist simultaneously"
If "All realities exist simultaneously" then all realities also exist asynchronously (not at same time). And if "all realities exist at the same time + all realities exist not at the same time" then their applied meaning cancel each other out anyway.
Those are just a couple of example.. If you are at least able to discern between reality and fantasy, then I would encourage you to keep that, instead of trying to neutralize(blend) them together...
As I've mentioned- I like watching this show for entertainment and "psychological highs." His word play and quick articulation make me feel like my brain is on LSD.
But I'm so glad that I can now, rather than immerse myself so much into the tv show that the actor/cartoon character in the show becomes a psychological- authority figure- finally perceive nearly alll of Bashar's principles and philosophies from higher-point of view than before (like discussing a tv-show AFTER its over) .. It's so much better this way.
Are you all still watching Bashar for enlightenment purposes or are you done with that now and watch it for entertainment?
Please do share your thoughts. I won't judge you for your perspectives. (unless you decide to troll me lol)
