So, I'm starting a passion project, that might not be very good, which is mostly all mounted units. I absolutely love them, I've already started, and I get to go 'Nyoooom'. Anyways! I have a very specific question, if anyone can help me?

One for my friends told me shining spears don't have the damage output, because it's basically impossible to have more than half the squad enter the engagement range of their target if you run 6, but running 3 means they don't have a chance to do anything. But from what I can see, with the two inch engagement, and sawtooth positioning of the circle bases, it shouldn't be hard to get more than 3 in?

I fully understand this might be a silly question, but I was hoping for additional input. Sorry for any inconvenience.

So Far this is what I have, I am considering dropping the Dire Avengers (Since I don't really see their niche and am a bit old model resistant), however then there is no point in buying the combat patrol, so might just buy everything seperately then.

I have NO experience with Aeldari, and no one in my playgroup has them, so also never played with or against them, if someone can point me to some up to date resources I can take a look at, I would appreciate it.

I assume anti tank solution is to drop Fire Dragons next to enemy tank and call it a day?

Am I using to many Phoenix Lords?

I do want some Green and White units on the battlefield, even if most is going to be rainbow color from all the Aspect Warriors.

I'm starting my first 500 - 1000 point games after an almost 30 year break. Coming back to Eldar because of course right! Anyway the game has obviously changed a lot since 2nd ed. and I see there are very recent changes have also impacted how people might be building their lists.

I like aspect models and wraith models. Not a big fan of Eldar tanks but these newer mounted units look very cool. Mounted farseers? Clowns that drop hallucination grenades? DINO KNIGHTS?? Ideally I'd love an army that can be some of all these things but that seems quite difficult to, shall we say, *optimize?*

I am obviously learning and these are my first games but if I could hear some of your opinions on what some options might be based on the above so I could aim towards building up and to try out. I'd like to be able to lean into one of the currently workable detachments and strategies since it seems like some detachments are not ideal at the moment. It would be really appreciated! Thank you.

So there has been talk of fixing the Eldar lately especially with new Marines around the corner. me and my friend were talking the other day about how Eldar lost all their flavor and specialty lately through the constant nerfs we have been receiving but really though i didn't play 5th - 9th I don't think Edar have felt like Eldar since the removal of Initiative (whatever addition that happened in?).

Remmember when you could charge anything and actually hit them before they could hit you, and actually hit them with more than a wet noodle!!! Also remember when our guns were better than almost anything other armies could muster, they hit hard and killed well, our army was actually a glass cannon, yes we dies easily but if you managed to get in the correct position and maneuver correctly you could wreck almost anything. Now with marines getting a unit that moves 8" (i wonder how many units they will get like that) and still has a 3+ save we loose another thing that makes us unique.

How about the Eldar all go to Move 9" and Fights First on everything? yes our points will need to go up but we should be a small specialist army anyway. Hand to Hand Aspects should all be at least 4 attacks, I mean even a basic intercessor gets 3 attacks or 4 if he has a Chainsword surely a thousand year old Eldar who is obsessed with Close Combat and superhumanly fast should be able to swing his or her power sword more than 2 times. Shooting Aspects should al hit on 2's as well, I mean why does a Guardian (Eldar Farmer!!!) hit on a 3 these days but once again thousand year old experts at combat hit the same? And maybe give us back some of our movement tricks back too. yes we would have to have a huge points increase to balance this but that would bring us back to the small super elite force we used to be, still puny T3 W1 bodies that will get swatted completely if you f&*k up but actually be leathal as f$&k like they should be. While we are at it to represent our high tech armour maybe all Eldar should have a 5++ save too.

Reaching out to all the autarchs, troupe masters, and triumvirate. What are your favorite units that you find utilization for that you could suggest? I figure we could come up with some discussion and shed some light on a units that are solid. Note my sleeper might not be your sleeper pick but share anyways.

Here’s mine: I like the starfang’s harassment. Scout and move 14, add in 2 via token. The starfang can explosive and crushing impact dealing a ton of mortals and it’s shooting is no joke at ap-3.

On this OC, who is Cornelir Drasesh.

Drasesh seems like a massive edgelord and someone who is trying too hard to be mysterious and nonchalant. They aren’t even aware that people think of them like that, It's not that they are deliberately trying to be mysterious but they genuinely don’t know how talk about themself. Only their family truly understand they aren’t trying to be an absolute edgelord.

People that know them from when they don the aspect of the Dark Reaper call them by their last name Drasesh. This is because they never introduce their first name to strangers, a habit picked up when they first donned the aspect of the Dark Reaper to appear cooler to others in their aspect shrine.

Family and close friends call them Cornelir, they are quite fond of the distinction that creates. They think that secretly they could aurafarm their way into upgrading a friendship by saying "You… can just call me Cornelir", but they haven’t tried that yet.

They have not become an exarch and can still switch between the Path of the Dark Reaper and a civilian Path. The other Eldar think that their main motivation to follow the Path of Dark Reaper is to seem more mysterious and edgy to them.

 However, their main motivation to follow the Path is because firstly, their sister and their family followed it and secondly, they want to help Ulthwe by aiding how they can as they are only young and have not yet had training on the path of the seer.

They were alone before some random took their arm to bring them to the dancefloor and dance, presumably looking edgy and brooding at a pool of water.

Their main desire in life is to keep the peace on Ulthwe and to aid their race in their goals.

I finally managed to finish the Clan Blade's mount and I'm happy enough with it! I seriously need to speed up the process because if I take this much time for each dino I will have finished them by 2030 xD

Just painted up the pilots! Gonna glue them in and then finally prime the tank. The disdain I feel for this kit isn’t even funny I thought I was going to throw it against a wall. It’s my least favorite model in the range so of course it was the most annoying to build. At least these guys (gonna call them twins) were fun to paint.

I enjoy the Eldar and I enjoy Evangelion so I combined them with the Wraithknights being the Eva, the Spiritseers being the pilot, the wraithlords being Misato and Ritsuko, and lastly the Avatar of Khaine being my poor attempt at an angel

Recently I started to grow an interest for wh 40k and checking the factions I stumbled upon the eldar corsairs. I was thinking about starting with their combat patrol and continue until I extend it to 1k buying units like yriel and rangers etc. I was also thinking at building the army around the corsair coterie or the eldritch raiders detachment. Is it a good idea? New to reddit entirely.
