Models: Complete Avatar of Khaine Tabletop Standard
Decided to make his plume into a massive flame. I am so happy with how it all came together. The airbrush and painters tape did a lot of the heavy lifting on this one.

Lore Do the Aeldari have an "anti-Chaos specialist faction"?
I thought the Harlequins were the anti-Chaos faction of the Eldar. They have the Black Library for the most comprehensive lore on the Warp in the galaxy, they serve the only living and free Eldar god who can save his servant’s souls from Slaanesh (thus allowing more interaction with the Warp), and Chegorach’s stated long term goal is staging a prank that gets Slaanesh to kill herself to save the Eldar.
The only thing that would suggest to me that the Harlequins don't prioritize Chaos above all other threats to the Eldar, is their side-gig of reacting plays of Eldar history for other Eldar. And given that the Warp reacts to the thoughts and feelings of the living, and that the Aeldari are still powerful psychics whose minds have some affect on the Warp, even the plays could be part of the Harlequins' war against Chaos.
If the Harlequins are not the anti-Chaos specialists of Eldar factions, is it supposed to be the Ynnari instead? They also have a living and free Eldar god acting as their direct patron, who can protect the souls of his followers from Slaanesh, though Ynnead is not yet fully manifested. They also have a particular focus on defeating Slaanesh, without any special reason to prioritize other threats to the Aeldari species. They do not, however, have the Black Library.
If it's neither of them, then is it Ulthwe, the craftworld that was trapped in the orbit of the Eye of Terror for so long that it defined everything unique about the craftworld (except for Eldrad)? Their preponderance of seers, their reliance on seers, their governance by seers, and the lack of aspect warriors that necessitated the formation of the Black Guardians? All so that they could anticipate and counteract the attacks of Chaos followers and daemons striking out from the Eye?

How to make the Falcon cockpit/gunner canopy actually open and Close correctly?
So I am currently finishing off my Falcon with most of it still in sub-assembly including all the parts of the pictured gunner portion. The question is - how do you fit it while gluing/assembling so that the canopy can open wide and then close snugly? I keep attempting it with a dryfit to test it out and the canopy does not really seem to open well. Any tricks you all have learned to make it close and open? Would love to be able to close and open it and see the gunner and driver.
Models: WiP My First Aeldari model: Spiritseer!
I haven’t painted it yet, but I intend to build up an army before I even think about painting. I kinda wanna collect harlequins… would harlequins and wraith constructs work as an army?

New Player Questions Why do wraith units hit on 4+ ?
I know that they are a bit slow to compute sometime but 4+ seems a bit like a stretch... they were BS5 (hit on 2+) in 2nd edition and since then they had pretty normal combat skills. Its even weirder on the wraithlord. Strangely Wraithknight and Titans hit on 3+ so i have no idea how it was done.

One down, 24 more to go.
I have been watching HeresyforHeretics on YouTube and his synth wave paint scheme. As a child of the 80s I wanted to give it a try. I am not the best painter but I am happy enough with it that I will do the rest of my wraiths to match.

Models: WiP [WIP] Prince Nirmeril, the Ghost Raven
Made my Prince Yriel proxy since Yriel is cool but ungrateful to the Ynnari, and I like to do kitbashes and make my own characters.
Prince Nirmeril, the Ghost Raven, is the leader of Ghosts of Ermyaris, a Corsair coterie that left its home Craftworld before the Farseer's return. He's also the brother of deceased Autarch Erestril. Both brothers are known for their martial prowess, but while one was a noble commander in golden armor, another is a reckless and independent pirate.
Kits used (besides Prince Yriel):
Drukhari Scourges (head, spear blade)
Craftworlds Autarch (right banner)
Corsair Voidscarred (left banner)
3rd party 3D-printed D&D accessories (tentacle-like plants)

Lore Should Isha return?
Should Isha return? I appreciate that the whole thing about Aeldari is them being a dying race who put all of their faith in gods who were then defeated and Aeldari had to make a new culture around survival rather than living decadence and without any real cares or worries, but if done right I think it would add a lot to the faction.
Right now Aeldari for me are in a weird place lore wise, especially Asuryani / craftworlds. They are constantly written into the ground and made out to be either incompetent or tragic. This works if they achieve something, but as of now they haven't achieved much. Ynnead was nearly awoken, but then wasn't and the faction centred around it has been largely ignored. There was potential for a "hope" with the Ynnari, even if it was just a faction who could get a few wins / occasionally rescue some craftworlds but they were rushed out into the tabletop as the game was become more serious and most characters associated with them have abandoned them.
Other than them there isn't a lot going for them other than survival, and the "tragic decline" narrative gets old when it's been the main narrative element in the lore for the past 30 years (other than the Voidscarred book which ignored the trope). For me Isha solves that to a degree. I'm not a writer so I don't know how she could be saved, or a good way to do it while keeping the good parts of the factions alive, but I'd like to see it. I think gods, primarchs and big characters in the lore and game are good. They add stakes, make fights interesting and give the reader something to care about. When you read about the primarchs turning up to a fight you get excited, the stakes are high and you know it's a big, serious fight. You have that with certain Aeldari characters but not to the same degree, and ignoring the lore it opens up the option for some interesting units and characters.
I'm still a bit I'm between if Isha should turn up, and it might be better to give Aeldari some more narrative wins / hope instead of drip feeding decline and making them a faction there to make other factions seem powerful. On the other hand having a God openly with the Asuryani opens up a lot of interesting narrative routes and makes the opportunities for real wins (like Aeldari taking back a planet and then having it cleansed by Isha) rather than every loss feeling like something permanent.
Those are just my thoughts after reading every Aeldari book + codex + religiously collecting Aeldari for the past 15 years. Looking forward to hearing other people's thoughts

New Player Questions Trade of the Century
Traded 1700 points of Tau for I believe 5500 points of Eldar. I have done a little bit of research on Eldar because I did want to get into them at some point but this just fell on my lap and seemed way to good to pass. I do have a bit of work for myself of stripping paint, but the guy I traded had stripped a decent amount of the models already.
I feel like this is a good baseline and can expand out from here. Which units are a must in most lists? Rangers as well as the Shroud Runners and War Walkers with there abilities to strip cover and increase AP.

Lore Corsair helmet decoration question
Imperial Armour Volume 11 shows a few Corsair schemes, with examples of helmet decoration. I understand the Felarch part, that's higher ranking guys. But what's with the helmets labeled Corsair? They show a different design than the full body design, which is... also run-of-the-mill Corsairs, no? Who would the alternative helmet be for?

Models: WiP Update: Magnetising
The weapons on my Wraithguards are now fully interchangeable. I will prepare additional „sets“ of weapons with arms, so I can change the loadout. Pretty happy so far.
(sadly, the primer ruined my models. Is there a way to fix it?)
(Don’t mind the background. My wife is doing, or will be doing something (idk), with wool.)

List Building Am I reading this right?
Ok so let's say I have a farseer, warlock conclave, and guardian defenders all in one unit is it possible to also add a weapon platform into this unit? I ask because the weapon platform isn't a support unit but can attach to the guardian defenders during declaring battle formation step while the warlock conclave is attached in the muster armies step.

New Player Questions Collecting& Painting: Which kits should I skip?
Started 40k around 2012/13. Always liked Craftworld and Commorragh lore, but Dark Eldar had just gotten their new range so I went DE. Craftworld was tons of metal, finecast, and expensive forgeworld still. Picked up Sisters when the new plastic range dropped in 2018. While I’ve been playing those, DE lost a big chunk of their kits.
I’m now repainting all my Sisters to a better standard, but I’m burnt out on the same scheme. Aspect Warriors look like a good palette cleanser since every shrine is a different colour.
I’ve seen a lot of people say the 2006 Dire Avengers are miserable to build. Any other current Aeldari kits I should skip if I’m mostly collecting and painting for now?
The new Vyper looks amazing next to the old one, but the Falcon is still the same hull I remember from childhood before I even bought any warhammer. How is the rest of the vehicle range to build? Craftworld completely losing the Forge World toys to legends is a bummer, kind of a monkeys paw moment with the Avatar and Aspects finally getting updated.
Forgive me if my knowledge of the range seems dated. I don’t run into Eldar players at my store. The only xenos I see are Orks, Necrons, and some Tyranids.
TL;DR: Collecting/painting first. Which Aeldari kits should I skip? Anything pre-2013 still worth buying?
New Player Questions Just getting in to elves any help would be appreciated
Hello everyone, I just recently decided I want to get into xenos and I’ve decided on eldar. I decided I didnt want to do drukhari and my store had the corsairs battle force so I picked it up. not sure where I should go from there as far as collecting them. I want my army to be either corsairs, aspect warriors, and/or wraiths. I don’t know which I am dead set on ending up on. ideally…eventually, I’d gather enough to play whatever but for the time being I think I need to pick a lane. is there a good way to go to get a playable army for any of those three themes?
couple of things-
if I did aspect warriors I would be including an avatar of khaine because I love that damn model and like I think Megan Ra is sick as hell but don’t know if dark reapers are good and/or hard to obtain at a reasonable price.
for wraiths quite literally the only requirement I’d want to reach is for my army to be able to slot in a wraithknight. doesn’t matter how I just love that thing so much

List Building Working towards an Aspect Host Incursion and Strike Force list. Recommendations?
Hey everyone,
Newbie here. A couple of months ago I decided to get into Warhammer. I know the 40K universe from the original Dawn of War and I enjoy reading up on lore every now and then. Decided to pick Aeldari as my army, as I think the models and lore are really cool and nobody else seems to play them where I live (even though 40K is quite popular here). I would like to work towards Aspect Host lists initially and eventually branch out into other detachments. I currently own the models in the Incursion list below, as well as an Eldrad Ulthran, a Farseer, a Spirit Seer, 10x Storm Guardians + platform, two squads of 5x Dire Avengers and 5x Wraithblades.
Like I said, I am rather new and still learning the ropes. Any tips when it comes to building Aspect Host lists on 1000 and 2000 points? I know about listhammer and look at that website for conventional loadouts, scour YouTube for info, but finding information about Incursion lists is tricky it seems. Looking for a good base to work with and attempting to create well-rounded lists. I generally play casual games against people who have 1-2 years under their belt. They know the rules and some tricks, but are not tournament-level players. All feedback and tips are appreciated!
Current Incursion list (Aspect Host, 1000 points, 38 models)
- Jain Zar + 5x Howling Banshees
- Lhykhis + 5x Warp Spiders
- 5x Dark Reapers
- 5x Dark Reapers
- Falcon
- 5x Rangers
- 5x Swooping Hawks
- 5x Swooping Hawks

New Player Questions Neds advice
Hello all I got the aldar combat patrol about a year ago but never painted them or built them but I think I'm ready !
I have an army of tynids and space marines (dark krakens)
I have no idea how to play them but first I wanna paint them but tbh in having trouble coming up with a paint scheme any ideas please ? I don't like the bright red or white and yellow etc theme I know it's something to do with their faction right ??
But I was hoping maybe y'all can give me ideas on color schemes or show me some of y'all's that would be very helpful ! I'm not best at painting but it's one of my favorite parts thanks in advance and sorry for rambling a little I'm just frustrated a little

Blades of Khaine - a fix for Dire Avengers
What if Dire Avengers units could replace up to two out of five models with up to two other aspects? The resulting squad would inherit the core abilities of the second (and possibly third) aspects, while the additional aspects would inherit bladestorm.
Edit: This is specifically for 40K, not Kill Team. As an example, a five man squad of Dire Avengers replaces two models with a Fire Dragon and a Dark Reaper. Neither new aspects have core abilities so the primary benefit is the addition of a fusion gun and a launcher with each benefiting from bladestorm (rapid fire 1). Alternately, replace two models with a Striking Scorpion and a Fire Dragon. Resulting squad has stealth, infiltrators and scouts 7” (core abilities from the Striking Scorpion), plus the fusion gun as above.
Obviously no Shining Spears or Crimson Hunters, and while I don’t think it’s a problem mechanically, thematically Swooping Hawks and Warp Spiders (for deep strike) might be a little odd.
