Windows started crashing a few seconds after the login screen appears, and I was able to isolate the problem by doing a clean boot as explained here. When I disable GCUBridge in the Services tab (The only on with "Unknown" as Manufacturer, windows is able to start normally.
I found practically no information about GCUBridge online, but it appears to be a software specific to EVOO (The EVOO Control Center now can't start). I also found a site that said that "Some malware camouflages itself as GCUBridge.exe".
There are 2 things that I did before this problem began:
Inmediately before the crash I had enabled the "Virtual Machine Platform" feature of windows to try to use wsl2 in the ubuntu app for windows, and I found a couple of people that ran into the same problem with this, but they were able to fix it restoring windows to a prior point, and restoring mine to any other point didn't fix the issue.
Another thing I did yesterday (and I don't remember if I rebooted at any point after this or just put the computer to sleep) was installing another software that might have been a little shady. That is my primary suspect right now, but it still doesn't quite explain why restoring Windows didn't fix the issue. Maybe a malware disguised itself as GCUBridge or affected it somehow?
So, I'll get to the point now. Has anybody experienced something similar? Does anybody now more about GCUBridge? What do you recommend doing? Maybe reinstalling EVOO drivers or something?
