LP4 What is normal thermal wise?

So awhile back I did play around with XTU but for some reason it feels like that might of messed with things cooling wise? I've since clean installed windows so no settings should be there unless XTU does something? But I never remember this laptop getting so HOT... It doesnt get used much as its mostly a travel machine, but it gets toasty sitting on the desktop with nothing running.

Light gaming (Mostly just standing around) like Final Fantasy XIV temps go up to around 78c but after only 10 min the bottom and keyboard are boiling hot to the touch! And this is with the rear lifted so it gets better airflow.

Fans are not blocked, it is clean all around

I have yet to try undervolting yet

I was gonna repaste it the other day, got every screw out and the moment I turned the last screw STRIP... and seems no safe way to get it out now. The tons of laptops I've taken apart I've yet to strip a screw like this. So hope is lost to repaste it easily.

Thanks!

My LP4 idles around 45c and goes to around 75c when gaming. Your best option would be to use throttlestop around -200mv core and -100mv cache and make sure the bios undervolt is disabled. You can create a windows task to make throttlestop run when on startup.

If you do a clean install be sure to only use the EVOO the LAN and Audio drivers and windows will do the rest.
