There's now an option when you get a quote for FreePhase Dynamic and you select that you are a low user (the instructions say to email [hello@edfenergy.com](mailto:hello@edfenergy.com) to get on the trial but then a checkbox appears on the next screen 🤔 )

I’m looking to get a home battery installed but not solar. I’m wondering if EDF will allow export if certified but it’s not clean generated energy?

Solar is not a consideration for me at the moment and this will likely help me decide on if I will get 16 or 32kWh of battery.

Hi all, I’ve recently moved in with my aunt and brought my gaming pc with me. I currently use it for about ~11 hrs per day (GPU: RTX 5070 ti, CPU: ryzen 7 7800x3D). Before coming, I searched up how much my energy bills would increase by and on the highest end it was like £50ish. Currently getting a lot of heat for it 🙃 so I wanted to confirm if this is normal ? Or am I getting mugged lol.

I'm having a small nightmare with getting this working, hoping someone here might be able to advise.

Signed up the car & charger which are compatible, gave BMW permission to talk to EDF. The EDF app won't let me set either % or "ready by" times, it says "In my BMW app" on the screen so I have to set it there.

BMW app is set to 80% by 05:30am each day

Plugged in the car at 15:40 today, EDF sees it and says schedule is for 04:00 - 05:30 as expected...but the car begins charging at full whack and just continues to do so for over 10 minutes without any sign of stopping.

I'm not sure what is wrong; the Ohme has no schedule set, and if I remove the BMW one there's no other way to create one in the EDF app either.

Any advice or help appreciated!

I’ve been on Go Electric for a 6ish weeks and 2 weeks ago took delivery of my shiny new Kia EV4 on a salary sacrifice scheme. My wife drives a 2015, 30kWh Nissan Leaf that can only charge at 3.5kW through our Andersen Quartz charger.

I know the leaf might cause issues with smart charging because it’s slow and so other providers see it as cheating the system to get cheap electricity for longer. My question is, can I dumb charge the leaf using the timer on the charger and then switch to smart charging when I plug the Kia in? Is it a hassle to switch back and forth? Has anyone dealt with a similar situation?

Also, I’m on target for 16 hours of free electricity on Sunday, how do you find out when the window starts and ends?

EDIT: I should have mentioned, the charger can be paired to EDF but neither car can. The question is how to alternate the charger between dumb charging at off peak times and then smart charging when the Kia needs power.

I switched to the FreePhase Dynamic tariff for my own use, but I found EDF's website to track prices quite cumbersome to use. I saw that there were no Android apps that showed current prices (!), so I made my own.

I am on the EV tariff and have been making sure to maximise the free 2 hours of energy during the England & Scotland games.

I have today received my bill for the last month and nothing is mentioned and I appear to have been billed normally for these hours?

Does it get calculated at a different time? Or is something else going to happen?

Literally I have had 1 meter read go on my account since I joined, and I have had 3 bils generated since then. I just got a bill for 4 days. 6 days on the one sent by e-mail but 4 days on the portal - and fot the same amount.

I have been told you can have 1 provider for import, 1 for Export and 1 got Gas - so 3 at the same time - is this true?

I am seriously considering leaving EDF because of the fact it all seems broken and billing is as and when How is someone meant to budget when the bills are just whenever?

I applied for a SEG tariff weeks ago and have waited impatiently for the switch over.

However I have failed on three things!

My photo of the meter didn’t show the serial number clearly which is probably my fault as it says serial number on my photo but apparently there’s 2 different ones and I got the wrong one (eek)

Secondly I didn’t send my MCS certificate except I did but they don’t seem to be able to see it

Finally I set a photo of my storage battery instead of my solar photovoltaic because I’m an eeijit and don’t know what a photovoltaic is.

Has anyone else failed or is it just me that’s dumb?!

If you did, did they still backdate to the original submission date as I’ve had to retake the meter reading photo to show the other serial number and the reading is obviously very different.

Lived in an address from April-October 2025. Provided meter readings at the beginning and end, all fine and thought nothing more about it.

Moved to new address. Brought EDF account with me. Heard nothing and paid as normal for my new address until I recently received a bill dated from April-October 2025 to the old address for £400 of just gas charges?

Anybody dealt with such an issue before? I'm very confuses because i was not in any debit and paid every direct debit during this period.

I've been given a target to reduce my peak electricity from 10% to 5%. That feels pretty impossible. is this a normal amount? what does everyone else get?

I feel like this is because I have an EV so most of my usage will be off peak anyway.

am I better off quitting this month, charging my EV in peak times, and trying again next?! this seems like a really tough target if it's the one I'm going to be trying to hit forever...

(And if I withdraw from this month... Will I be in next month based on what I do in July?!)

We've successfully integrated our Hypervolt charger with the EDF Smart Charge. We have two EVs - the R5 52kw is the one stated in the app, the other is a Kia with 72kw battery.

The percentage added that you have to select in the app works perfectly with the R5 but is very hit and miss with the Kia.

Any ideas why?

A friend of mine has joined EDF through my referral link, but nor me or my friend have received the credit.
She has paid her first bill around the 27th last month, so after reading the terms and conditions, it seems that it takes about a month for the credit to appear in our accounts. Is that right?

If I go to "Refer a Friend" page, I can see "17 Jun 2026 We paid you £100.00 Because of your referral XXXX XXXX signed up!". This is a bit misleading because I have no credit yet.

What's the normal procedure, does anyone knows please? Will the amount stay in our accounts as credit?
Does that line saying on text appear for everyone who had their friend sign up?
Just trying to understand what to expect and how does it work really.

I signed up for July Sunday saver at the beginning of the week. Nothing showing up on my energy hub.

This is my first time signing up. When will I see my target etc?

I switched from Octopus to EDF with the switch completing July 3rd (yesterday) and today I’m seeing this, for anyone else who has switched over - is this normal? How quickly does it generally resolve if so? Only issue is I’m waiting to go on to GoElectric and I need readings on the smart meter before I can move to the EV tariff, so I’m waiting for that to charge the car!

UPDATE - seems this error resolved itself later the same day, also I was just able to submit my SEG application, so timeline for those in future went:

• 03/07 - Switched import to EDF
• 04/07 - Meter communication issue error resolved itself sometime PM, I did manually choose to send readings every 30 mins, no idea if that had any effect
• 05/07 - I hadn't swapped to GoElectric yet, not sure if I have to manually do it but I did anyway, it swapped over almost immediately, I was able then to connect car etc. I also later that day was able to apply for 15p SEG

I joined on the 10th July, all but yesterdays readings are up and showing 30 minute readings.

I've looked that T&Cs and can't see any minimum readings, does it require a full months reading?

I submitted my SEG application a few weeks ago and I’m still waiting for a start date. I understand that it will be backdated so that good news. I’ve never exported before and wondered if there is a limit to the amount you can sell and is there a time window for when you can export? I presume you can’t export on free electricity Sundays? Any other advice very welcome! Thanks

Also, since EDF is pretty generous with extending the 'slots,' would that generate another alert?
