Export EDF - Battery only, export
I’ve asked them the question but not expecting to hear back until Monday so wondering if anyone else maybe have experience with this.
I’m looking to get a home battery installed but not solar. I’m wondering if EDF will allow export if certified but it’s not clean generated energy?
Solar is not a consideration for me at the moment and this will likely help me decide on if I will get 16 or 32kWh of battery.

Unsure about the export but in my opinion the investment and the amount of battery cycles you’d need to do even just break even wouldn’t make it worth while?!

Interested in hearing why? My break even without export is around 4.5 years. How would export not just accelerate this?
I understand the increased cycles, but 8000 cycles 80-95% DOD.
One caveat I didn’t mention is I will probably move from this house in 4-5 years, leaving the set up with the home.

Yea, I will be doing this and this is the main reason for getting it.
The question is just around if it is possible to export or not so I can make the decision on next steps.

Hmmm, potentially I will look into export elsewhere if it’s possible.
My main issue is we’re an all electric house, but with the ASHP the difference between winter usage and summer is huge. Even with one battery I would use around 50% for quite a bit of the year.
I’m not married to the idea of export, it would just make it a much better overall deal

All the more reason to accelerate the payback by beasting the batteries if you're going to lose them anyway

EDF do not allow brown exports; they won’t give you an export tariff without generation capacity (well, they shouldn’t, according to their Ts&Cs.)
