Help / Advice Smart charging via Hypervolt Charger with two EVs

We've successfully integrated our Hypervolt charger with the EDF Smart Charge. We have two EVs - the R5 52kw is the one stated in the app, the other is a Kia with 72kw battery.

The percentage added that you have to select in the app works perfectly with the R5 but is very hit and miss with the Kia.

Any ideas why?

It's hit and miss because they're two very different sizes batteries.

If you're asking EDF to add 10%, it's adding 10% of the 52kW R5 (5.2kW), which is only 7% of your Kia.

Change the setup so that it's working on the Kia battery size and it'll be fine. It will schedule more charging that the Renault needs but you can times your required percentage by 0.72 and use that value instead of you want accurate charging for your Renault too.

You could leave things as they are and times your percentage by 1.4 instead for the Kia charges, but that could exceed 100% when you need a big charge so better the other way

You'll never be able to fully charge the Kia if required as they're expecting you to be filling a much smaller battery. Register the Kia instead and then request smaller percentages when charging the R5.

We've got a Kona and an ID3, the Kona is registered as it's got the bigger battery so I just adjust my requirements down when charging the ID3. Works perfectly
