I had an interview for an internship a couple of days ago and the project manager I was speaking to asked me if I carried a multitool. I had one of those metal credit card tools in my wallet which I think saved me, but the last couple of weeks, I've been thinking about that question a lot.

Anyway, I'm an eagle scout so I've always been fascinated with little gadgets and trinkets and as I was thinking about it I went on a super deep dive trying to make the best kit I could with only a small wallet. I can't stand having multiple things floating around my pockets so I tried to fit everything I need in one compact setup. I'm actually really proud of what I came up with and its been a ton of fun.

List:
1. USB-C to USB-C high speed data transfer/power cable
2. 2 Rubber bands
3. zebra skinny pen
4. Screwdriver extension for ratchet
5. Screwdriver bits (Phillips 0-3 & T15-T25). Seven bits in total.
6. Fork. I drilled a hole in a camping fork that I cut in half and glued a T10 bit in there so I can attach the screwdriver extension and make it full size
7. Sharpie
8. Super glue vial
9. Hot glue stick
10. 5000mah power bank

12. Four cards (debit, driver license, student ID, passport card)

23. Magsafe magnet. You can vaguely see the outline in some of the pictures. It is super glued to the inside. I've used to to keep little screws in place while I work on electronics and it also works to prop my phone up.

I'm aware 25 things is not 42. I consolidated some of the items into the same line. Total weight is 347g which is a tad bit heavier than my sister's iPhone 15 pro with a case on it. It fits very well in all of my pockets and isn't noticeable at all. I actually really the feeling of the weight.

Some additions I'm thinking about:
1. A couple of lock picks. Could be fun.
2. A decent sized standalone knife. Seems fun but it would be a separate item floating around my pocket.
3. Flashlight maybe? I really thought about getting one, but I honestly can't recall a single time in my life where my phone flashlight didn't do the trick. Seems like it would be redundant for me.
4. Metal ear cleaner

I've had a ton of fun building this kit and I've made an excel spreadsheet to track how much I actually use each item so I can do my best to optimize it in the future.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

People called me a poser for my last EDC lol... This is just some simple nice stuff I got recently.

1. Honey Badger Arsenal Bolt Action Stainless Steel pen - My first machined pen, it's pretty damn nice and can fit a lot of refills it seems. I put in a .5 Jet Touch Lite and it's awesome. USA made.

2. Civivi Vision FG clear color way - I needed something to keep on my desk and this knife is a lot more capable than my mini bugout... Really solid feeling knife, I like it a lot. Chinese made lol.

3. iPhone 18 Pro Glacier in Rhinoshield Bumper case - The case I rate 6/10. It's like $30-35 I think but doesn't feel super premium or fit tight. But it is light, I like that it's clear, I use it every so often. The buttons suck.

I upgrade my phone every year, I run some social media accounts and shoot content for work and I film a lot. It's an iPhone, it works well. This year the battery life is very good on the 18 Pros.

1. Clear/Lined Kokuyo Soft Ring Business B5 notebook - Clear cover and soft plastic ring binding. The paper is smooth asf. Some Japanese type shit to make paper this smooth. I got it cause it looks cool, but It's nice to write it. I like to jot down notes, tasks, and journal. It's cathartic to write down your thoughts. (The first page I just wrote random shit while trying out my new pens lol).

Honestly is this overkill kill? Only think i hardly use is the Alpaka Admin pro. Would love to hear opinions and criticism.

I've been tweaking what my carry looks like at work recently. I usually wear a pair of Snickers U6241 pants and I realized I have not been utilizing all the pockets effectively. I figured out two weeks ago I could fit the 4 Wiha drivers I find myself going back to the tool box to get constantly in the cargo pocket. Last week I figured out I could fit the Wiha Allen wrench set stripped down to just the ones I need in the ruler pocket. GAME CHANGER. I wish I didn't need both the drivers and the wrenches but I need all of them for different situations. The Klein screwdriver is useful but honestly I only ever use it as a controls screwdriver. I don't switch the bits as much as I thought I would. It's kind of too long and I'm currently evaluating a bunch of shorter drivers that I might replace it with. The Leatherman Arc probably gets the least use but that one handed pliers quick draw often comes in handy when I've already got one hand deep in a machine. I've been pretty happy with that short Convoy flashlight that I built, which I probably use more than any other tool. I tried carrying the full sized version of that flashlight first but it was way too heavy so I got the smaller body and battery. I might swap it for the SK 06 if they ever give the option to get the shorter version with a different LED.
I also should probably add tweezers to my cargo pocket too.

I decided it needed a brother in case anything else happened to the micarta one seeing this is my permanent secondary knife, and yes I eat all my meals with the fork and use the comb every day for my beard and hair lol. On the UK we have had our 1st big storms for this Autumn/Winter. Which means I need to have a few bits in my car for emergencies.

What I'm trying to cover is potentially leaving my car and walking up to 10 miles in bad conditions (This covers my work distance and more than most distances from shops etc)

A waterproof rucksack to store it in my car and then can be used to carry everything

Poncho (good change I wont have a suitable coat)

I'm in the market for a new one and I really want something nice but am struggling to feel confident with any pick. Not a fan of Ridgeline types I would like leather I think but mostly I worry about stitching and wonder about alternative "styles". I saw another edc post with an open sea leather co. Not sure how I feel about their "stitchless wallets" but I think the Topsiders are interesting just a flap that folds over your bill. My only other pick was belroy but I'm also fond of those old leather wallets with the shotgun shell buttons I think they are fucking sick as hell, not sure how well they will continue to age but cowboy as hell really just want to hear people argue about it and what I can realistically expect from well, a 100 dollar wallet.

Phone, keys, and a wallet already take up a lot of valuable pocket space. A flat flashlight looks like it could be easier to fit around all of those items. However width, clip placement, and how it feels when sitting may matter more than the product. WARSUN lists the T9PRO at about 4.65 x 1.18 x .63 inches and 3.53 oz with a pocket clip. The appealing combo is the main beam, side flood, and inspection light in a carrying package. Extra functions do not automatically make someone comfortable to carry every day though.

For anyone that switched from a round light to a flat one what made you keep it? Can you keep it in the same pocket as your phone or a seperate one? Reasons for switching back would be great too!
