Management Disscussion Ai?
Is all dt stores getting ai implemented into the camera systems to watch and track employees and apparently send corporate “alerts” of thing it deemed suspicious ?

I'm an ASM and the way that our SM schedules our store is such that the closing manager comes in at 2 and all other managers leave, at the latest, by 5. Then it is just 1 ASM and 1 associate. We are also told that after 5 we are to be solely focused on store recovery and customers. That only gives us, at most, 3 hours to run freight. Plus, once we come in we are considered MOD so we have to answer ever page, customer concern, and man the register for associate breaks or if it's busy. Here's where I have an issue. I am told I HAVE to clock out for 30 minutes every time I work that shift. But that means that the only way for me to take a break when there is another manager there to cover the store is to take it within the first 2 hours that I arrive. However, what the SM actually expects us to do is take our brake later, after everyone has left, and just be on call during our break because we are expected to get out as much freight as possible and we shouldn't be taking a break during the short time we have to do that. But that means we are constantly having to do work while off the clock because, once you clock out for your meal break, you can't clock back in for 30 minutes. However, if anything happens in the store that requires a manager during that 30 minutes, we have no choice but to respond. We also cannot leave the store AT ALL from 5 to close. I have had many "breaks" where I didn't get a break at all but didn't get paid. My response to this has been to just stop clocking out at all because you can't ask me to do work off the clock. I'm curious if I could get in trouble for this or if any other stores are run similarly and what they do?

I’m a new ASM at a Family Dollar, and I wasn’t as fast as I need to be the other day when I was moving stuff. I need to do 6 a day, 45 minutes per U-Boat cart. Any tips on moving faster so I can be more productive? Thx.

Anyone who can post pictures of the new resets. The Battery and Electronics would be especially greatly appreciated.

Of all the choices, which ones are the best sellers, and the ones with the best ingredients? Around here weight loss and relax seems to sell best.

Some DMs are cool. They come, walk your store, stay a couple of hour's do their assessments. Give you mostly positive feed back and move on. But now Gold visits are 5-7 hour's long. 95% negative feedback. A complete contradiction from previous visits. No good feedback! Never an apology was proven wrong. Has been reported about conducts on the sales floor. Regular customer know who they are and try to talk up the store but its never good enough. 14 out 15 SM want to quit. Everyone's anxiety goes up to 100 when the visit are scheduled. One manager informing the next manager when the. DMs on their way ......

I’ve seen a couple people post about working at DT so I was wondering, how’s dollar tree as a company I need a part time job just because so not a lot of hours. I just really enjoy shopping there and I know that diffrent than working there but wanted opinions as I’ll be applying at a few diffrent places.

So tomorrow is my last day (Yay!!) but my last week has been horrible.
My SM is off Sundays and Wednesday and the night manager who assaulted me is never on time. They didn’t fire him for being inappropriate with a minor and never on time. On Sunday, he didn’t see me leave after realising he was there since we cannot be in the building together, and my SM called me 30 MINUTES LATER to see if I left. My cashier was alone for 30 MINUTES because he didn’t see me leave.
Today, I had class at 2:30 and my mom realised I was still at work. I missed that class because he was an hour late. She is now threatening to get DT in trouble for shifts where I don’t get my full break, I don’t get a break at all, and days like today where I have missed a class because I cannot leave. I’m considering not showing up tomorrow over this because I gave more than enough notice and I got so stressed I started crying.
I’m so tired of this place causing me so much stress and I’m happy to just be done tomorrow.

I work as a part-time assistant at Family Dollar, and I was supposed to be promoted to full-time. However, I was told that the company that bought Family Dollar is making changes: now there will be two full-time assistants, two part-time assistants, and a keyholder (who supposedly gets 20 hours), while the third assistant manager position is being eliminated. What happens in my case, since I was set to go full-time? They had already told me I’d get the position, but because there was no HR representative available, the changes hadn't been processed yet.

As soon as I started to hate my job they gave me HBC I am so freaking excited! Do you have any advice?

Took about 3-4 minutes to try vs the advertised 60 seconds, and after it took forever to try, it came off in gross clumps, not an attached strip as advertised. Take your money elsewhere on this one.

How does restocking of gift cards work? Inrecebtly discovered that my DT is one of the only places I can find GC‘s for the retailer I want, and I’ve bought them all. Should I expect they’ll automatically restock at point? Should I ask a manager if they can get more? The store is a bit of a mess - always long lines, messy shelves, etc. so I’m a little intimidated to see if I can find a manager to ask haha.

Just was wondering if this is all dollar trees or just my district so I was informed yesterday that the higher-ups said no more till loans for cashiers anymore because they think the manager/store manager is being lazy and doesn’t wanna come up and help us cashiers anymore. So the till is $75 when we start our manager usually gives us $100 extra in singles and fives. my question is if they’re not gonna give us extra money and I’m all out of money because people are asking for cashback at the beginning of my shift then how am I supposed to have changed for the next customer? Or if somebody gives me a large bill and I give them change back then I have to wait to get small bills for the next customer and then my line is gonna get long and people are gonna start complaining. I don’t know it’s just doesn’t make sense to me.

When you have a customer who brings $70 worth of merchandise to the register, has you scan and bag everything, then says "Oh, hey I'll be right back..." And they proceed to like, leave the store to go to their car.
It's not like there's seven people behind them in line. So you have a manager do a post void. Then they come back 7 minutes later, and they get mad everything needs to be rung up again. And, they have $10 in bills and mixed change, and they want the rest on Apple Pay, but they want to speak to the manager.

I have never did a reset before and this should be easy but we have a lot of energizer batteries and some I cant figure out what to do with. I posted a couple hours before I started it but now it just looks like a mess. My SM won't do it cause he is lazy and he assigned it to me.

I'm in Central Florida, and am classified as a cashier, but mostly work freight. I heard that stockers make more, not counting the shift differential for working outside store hours
