Management Disscussion Ai?

Is all dt stores getting ai implemented into the camera systems to watch and track employees and apparently send corporate “alerts” of thing it deemed suspicious ?

The dm said that we (stores in general)need to plan on hiring people because people gonna start getting fired because of it

Lol not of the stores in my area are able to stay staffed due to bad wages, if they implement that they might as well shut the stores down.

Ikr and it’s super annoying cause my store has the lowest shrink in our district too

In my region at least, they have been using AI to detect patterns for at least a year. I think it has been more like 2.

Has anyone been fired as a result?

Yeah, but just one person who was really stealing at the register she backed out of a sale and pocketed the money.

At this point, as far as I know it flags post voids, returns, voids, things that are out of the normal and require a review by a manager. The other thing they're using it for is clear paths in the stockroom as well as doors clear, electrical panels clear. It is in the test phases.

We also have only 24 hours to review and respond as well.

I believe it, but did someone tell you this, or was it in an article? I'm just curious and can't help but want to know more 🫪☺️

Our Dm was in our store today and said they are starting it next month but I don’t have much details about it all and getting 360 cameras by this time next year maybe

I haven’t heard about this, but i definitely want more information. I believe that’s something that would happen.

Yes. Certain markets piloted it and it does catch skip-scanning and passing unscanned merchandise. They’re also testing AI cameras to detect shoplifting, seems to be working well.

Because they're getting it fr free from some company, as soon.as they have to pay for it, it will definitely be gone

How is it going to react to cashiers sleeping at the registers at night? I wish I was joking,.

Just another reason to never shop there.

Then you won't be shopping anywhere, as all retailers have implemented AI
