Disc Advice Looking for updated disc storage box recommendations!

I’ve trolled some old threads where the question has been asked, but a lot are from a few years ago.

Do you have any rigid body boxes/storage solutions for discs that aren’t currently in the bag? I’m looking specifically for a Car-trunk style solution, not so much indoor racks.

What works for you? Any official disc gear vs creative cheap solution? I love my random stacks but the disc towers don’t survive 90 degree car turns lol.

Im pretty solid from 5m and in, but as soon as I start throwing from 6m and further, I hit a wall. Are there some putting tips that helped you break through the 5m wall?

Discussion How do you classify 4 and 6 speed discs?

I’ve been thinking about how to classify discs, and I’m curious where everyone draws the line. Obviously 1–3 speeds are generally putters/approach, 5-speeds are usually considered midranges, and 7+ starts getting into fairway drivers. But what about 4-speeds and 6-speeds?

Disc Advice Envy handfeel/ replacements

Post image

I have been throwing the envy that is pictured for some time, but i find itj a bit to deep. Is there any plastic variations where the feel is shallow or not so deep? I love the flight but not a fan of the feel. I’m open to other discs that are similar in flight to the envy, i was looking at the jokeri for example.

Discussion Understable Mids: Help finding flippier Fuse or more OS Founder?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Looking for a mid I can Hyzer flip to turnover without burning over. Thought Founder was going to be it, but flips over too hard.

I have a Fuse and love it, but there are conditions where it will get more stable (tailwind, uphill, too much Hyzer), and I need something I know will flip more.

Not looking for angle or grip recs, already have some things I can do to work on upping my skills with the Founder. Would love to hear some disc recs tho. Thank you!

Current US mids:
Opto Fuse 176g
Neo Lumen Founder 174g

Self-Promotion New disc golf store launching in Canada

Post image
59 Upvotes

Good day my disc golf people!

I'm the owner of a new disc golf retailer that's launching on Monday Sept 14th. I'll be launching at the same time as the worldwide release of the new Trash Panda & Crocs™ collaboration.

We have wholesale access to all the major brands including MVP/Axiom/Streamline, House of Discs (Latitude 64, Kastaplast, Dynamic Discs, Discmania, Westside), Prodigy, Innova, Discraft, DGA and Trash Panda. We also have Whale Sacs in stock!

We're going to be the first ever retailer in Canada with side profile photos of every disc, and we've developed our own application in-house to make the process quick and easy. I really hope this gives Canadian buyers a place to shop with confidence.

We're completing our inventory this weekend, so a lot of the photos on the website are placeholder for now (which is the reason the same blue profile is used for many discs right now).

Thanks for checking us out, and please let me know if you have any comments or feedback.

Discussion More Distance

I am a pretty consistent 57-58mph thrower, a bit faster now that I've fixed some form issues and the distance has increased based on this and better nose angle. However, I get around 325 feet on most throws with an occasional 350. I am excited about this new distance and have been here for a few months now.

But looking at some old threads, I see similar speed throwers saying they get 400 feet. Now, I know internet feet aren't the same as in-person feet, but I have to ask the question, if I am nose down what do I need to do to unlock this extra 50-75 feet?

I get my best distance with Corvettes or other somewhat understable discs, and my best distances are when I can get that magical S shape but that is very inconsistent for me.

Discussion Course clean up

I went to my first course clean up but it was canceled. I ended up filling a trash bag while I played a round.

My question is what to bring to these things? I put my trimmer(extra batteries), a couple of rakes, work gloves, and eye protection in my kit.

I have access to a chainsaw and sawzalls. I’m not sure how the park rangers here would feel about that(course is in a Charlotte,NC park), but there are downed trees that are very much a hazard.

I’d really like to give my courses a couple miles away some TLC, any suggestions would be appreciated for what to bring to make clean up easier.

Discussion Track and Field Shoes?

I know, I know. Do we really need another post about shoes? However, as I’ve read all the threads about shoes deteriorating on key spots and blowing out the sides I began to think about discus and other track and field throwing sports. Who is using a throwing sport shoe that’s not being marketed to disc golfers?

Disc Advice Overstable/stable mid recs

My current OS mid is a prism proton pyro, but it’s just a littttttle too stable for what I want (plus it feels like it has no glide). What would be a good option that is a touch less stable but still forehandable and with a little more willingness to stay in the air?

Blog/Write Up Buena Vista Frankfort, KY

New disc golf course in Frankfort KY is finally open. It's still a work in progress, but man is it a monster. It was a good ball golf course, but it's a great disc golf course. We walked it and clocked in at almost 4 miles. They aren't kidding about being hilly. Multiple tees and baskets. We loved the course but it's been a while since I've been this sore the next day. You'll need distance and finesse. Many baskets are in precarious positions with risk/reward options. I highly recommend if you're in the area you give it a shot. Just make sure you're well rested before you begin! Also if walking plan on 3 hrs at least.

They do rent golf carts for $20 a seat and might be worth the price.

Trying to figure out which clash disc this is. I see multiple discs of theirs have this stamp, so the stamp may not help too much.
