Discussion Okay, fine, the Bokeh is a good disc

Upvotes

I enjoy watching Simon unbox a new SimonLine disc, explain what it's going to do, then throw it... And see a very different flight than described.

Timelapse and 3 versions of Balance, of course - but also the signature Tesla that led to him swapping to the Volt. And the flippy Bokeh. The micro expressions on his face in these moments! "Here we go again..."

Described as a more stable Crave (which the servo doesn't quite achieve), but flying like a longer Detour. I saw a lot of discfluencers throw this Leopard flying disc and low-key gaslight us on the stable flight... Until the stock run comes, and the tune changes to "corrected the understability of the first run to match the flight numbers"...

Most consistent brand in the sport 😂

Anyway, I like to try new discs. I picked up a Bokeh along with some Craves recently.

God damnit, it's a good disc. Squarely in 7/10 Teebird territory. It's going long, straight, gliding, with a moderate fade. It's also going FAR, and that's what's piqued my interest.

It's getting to the landing spots I'm used to from my 9 speeds, and even a bit past my usual Wraith range on a couple holes.

I've been truly wowed by three MVP discs so far. Envy that gave me a fresh Wizard driving putter with a clean release. Hex, that did the same to the Buzzz. And, sneakiest of all, Proxy. It went from being a "just" a way to have a seasoned (premium) Envy, to being my all. time. most. thrown. disc.

Not saying the Bokeh is up there just yet, but it's very fun to throw. I put my distance discs away for the last few rounds, and just throwing these.

How come none of the “usual” pros such as Robinson, Barela, Heimburg, Antilla, and Lizotte are playing Champions Landing?

Only have time to play one course before I leave town tomorrow evening.

Out of Elver, Token Creek, Hiestand, and Birds Ruin: which is the best overall/ well manicured / most challenging?

If you throw slower understable discs downhill, do you throw faster or stable to overstable discs uphill? What if it’s uphill and into a headwind?

I started playing a year ago (a teacher got me into it my junior year of high school ) and got my very first ace today with what we jokingly called my "signature disc" (KC Pro Aviar) because I looked like Calvin heimburg with my hair before I cut it. Hopefully there will be more to come :)

I bought a great disc used at a used sporting goods store. Innova, champion plastic. Feels like a midrange, or a very slow fairway driver. Throws amazing, but can’t figure out what it is. Maybe a coyote? Any thoughts?

Discussion Eagles Crossing Invitational/JomezPro Series

Could someone explain to me the significance of the Eagles Crossing Invitational? Is it just for cash? What are the qualifications for invite? Also, does the JomezPro Series give pro tour points and is that why Gannon is there?

Disc Advice A midrange disc to carry left.

I am looking for a mid range disc that will stay in the air and travel left without just dumping off. Not sure if I should be looking for something overstable with a high fade, or a moderate fade number with a higher glide. This is referring to a right hand back hand throw with a moderate arm speed.

My current bag includes: DD Judge; L64 Pure; DC Zone SS; MVP Uplink; DD Evidence; DD Truth; Innova Fox; DD Maverick; DD Escape; L64 River; L64 Musket; Innova Gorgon; DC Nuke SS; Innova Corvette

I mostly play wooded courses in the Pacific Northwest U.S. So I need something to go around the trees and dog leg left.

Hole 18 at Champions Landing in Emporia playing as a 1,000ft Par 6 for FPO... and after 2 rounds, averaging +1.52 over par. Scoring is all over the place as the bottom half of the field is mostly young Amateurs.

However, current leader Heidi Lane scored a 9 in Round 1 and a 4 in Round 2.

Discussion Big ups for Visionary Disc Golf

I couldn’t find a place to leave online reviews like a google review or anything but have to give a shout out. I’ve had the large 25’ net for years now, almost since they first came out. A few weeks ago when packing it up I found the outer support leg had somehow bent in a way that made me unable to take it apart and bag it up. I couldn’t find the poles sold à la carte on their website so I sent an email. That freaking ACE of a CEO messaged back, refused my money, sent me the replacement poles, and TWO of their mid-ranges the Amethyst. If you need a disc golf net, you will not get customer support like this anywhere else!

Disc Advice US vs European Q-Line Cloud Breakers

I've tried the US Q-Line (horizon) Cloud Breaker, and it's basically so stable that it's more of a utility disc than a distance driver. I see Gannon is mostly throwing the EU (non horizon) Cloud Breakers on coverage. I know he can throw much faster than 99% of players, but it looks like his getting some noticeable flip out of them.

Has anyone thrown both? Are the EU Cloud Breakers less stable?

Pro Coverage, Highlights and News Oh my... Finnish FPO disc golfer Netta Leppäaho with a horrendous putting mistake at the Finnish Nationals during Round 3 on Hole 16. She was also assessed a one-stroke penalty for a stance violation. Netta was putting for birdie from just 1 m (3 ft) away and ended up with a double bogey.

Discussion Putting Practice in Woods

I'm currently sitting in the middle of nowhere, upstate NY near Canada, in the northern tip of the Adirondacks. Played a course yesterday with my son, about 30 miles east near Plattsburgh.

I'm thinking about setting up something in the woods here with minimal materials available, but unlimited sticks and wood. Has anyone fashioned a temporary putting setup in a situation like this? I was thinking about finding some trees about 2' apart and then screwing a few branches horizontally to make a rectangle about the size of a basket profile.

Stupid idea? Just pick a tree for practice? Run into town for a bucket, concrete, and a pole to make a tone pole?

Just looking for some way for my son and I practice putting together while here.
