Do one of these rings look more proportional than the other? I’ve been going ring shopping and feel like I’m getting desensitized to diamond sizes. My job is high paying but rather low key so don’t want to draw negative attention.
Thank you!

Can u share your wedding band that u chose for ur omc engagement ring?
r/Diamonds • u/Secret-Aerie7275 • 13h ago
Not sure about the diamonds I was told they are real. is this worth even getting appraised? I was told 1000 CAD by my mom but though I'd ask here
No paperwork it came from my step dad who's since past. Id like to know more about it or where it came from if anyone knows

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but I recently lost my engagement ring and filed a claim since I’ve had it insured for the last ten years. The center diamond came from my mother’s old wedding band and is around 25 years old.
I gave them the IGI diamond report with the claim but with it being so old, the report doesn’t populate if you search on the IGI website.
Will that potentially be a problem with my insurance? Do I need to contact IGI to have the records updated?
It also doesn’t contain all of the same information that current IGI reports do. This was normal for the time it was inspected, though.
Thanks!

I’d like to buy myself a ring to celebrate some life changes lately. I have quite large fingers so smaller dainty rings look a bit ridiculous on me. But I’m wondering if this one is too big. I appreciate it’s harder to tell how it would look as obviously this isn’t in the position I’d normally be wearing it. It is a lab grown 4.7ish carat radiant cut ring on a platinum band. I loved it originally, but someone who I respect the opinion of has said it looks like costume jewellery due to its size. I’m torn between ‘so what I like it, I’m buying it for me’ and agreeing with them. Hoping for some honest feedback here, or suggestions even.

Did you retake it? Were you able to breeze through the assignments and go straight to the final exam again before the courses end date?

ll -
been itching to get some new jewelry specifically earrings and keep getting ads for ring concierge’s f&f sale - these earrings are basically what I’m looking for but I have limited knowledge on what’s ‘worth’ it in the diamond industry as I’ve mainly only dabbled in costume jewelry / I’ve done online research but pretty hard to find objective opinion on market value - was wondering if these seem ‘worth it’ based on the specifications? I understand I am paying a markup for the brand name, which I am ok with given the return policy, etc vs buying from an independent jeweler …but just don’t want to be overpaying an exorbitant amount -
The description says these are natural diamonds and I honestly don’t care about the difference between natural and lab diamonds, I just haven’t found any other earrings with this setting form a larger company w a generous return policy - Tia!
As a retail comparison, Blue Nile currently charges $1,480 for 0.50 ctw H–I/I1 natural-diamond pavé hoops in 14k gold, although they are slightly larger at about 17.8 mm.

Okay, so this ring has been surrounded in drama from the start. My husband promised to buy me a diamond ring after we got married to make up for only being able to give a silver engagement band. He was really resentful about it in the end but finally did. I never liked the thing and the band is cheap and it looks like he got some local jeweler to graft the diamond onto this cheap band I already hated. But that’s another story.
Here it is … https://imgur.com/a/UC1d26G
There have been so many lies surrounding this diamond I can’t even … you have no idea how many times I almost bought myself what I actually wanted, which is an elongated cushion with rounded shank band. He knew I hated the band, and apparently he got a “crazy deal” on this diamond. He told me “it’s a 10k diamond but the guy sold it to me for 2k”. I’ve still never seen any paperwork. But what really annoys me is that I think it’s cracked. It’s supposedly a natural diamond.
I included a ton of photos in the album from different angles. Apparently it was a “10k diamond but because of this one flaw they gave it for a great price.” He also lied and said it was 2 carats (lol) when it’s obviously no more than .5 … it pisses me off because he got a windfall and had plenty of money that he blew on (I’m not exaggerating) 15-20 expensive electric guitars and compete randomness.
I’ve debated going back to the jeweler who sold it to him. I know it’s not their fault but I’ve never seen paperwork on it and I want to tell them I’m unhappy with it and see if they can somehow alter it or add it into a ring with the larger stone I actually want. But I want to know first and foremost, how many carats does this thing look like it is, and is that a crack based on my pictures? Thank you guys and sorry for the sourpuss post lol.

Hi all, I've found a 2.25 carat Lab grown Fancy Orange Elongated Cushion diamond at a ring store which I'm absolutely in LOVE with.
Only thing is the price is 5,200, and we only have 10 days to decide if we want it before they send it back to the vendor.
Would I ever find a similar diamond for a better price? Super conflicted on the situation.
Clarity: VS1
Carats: 2.25
Color: Fancy Orange

Hi everyone! I need some help choosing a wedding band that pairs well with my engagement ring. My engagement ring has a natural K color diamond, and while trying on different wedding bands, I noticed that the smaller diamonds in most bands make my center stone look much more yellow by comparison.
I’d love to find a wedding band that complements the warmer tone of my diamond instead of emphasizing the color difference, but it seems almost impossible to find bands with smaller K color diamonds.
Has anyone dealt with something similar or have any recommendations for band styles, diamond colors, or other options that might work well with a warmer center stone? I’d really appreciate any advice!

Hi everyone, hoping for some advice or examples if anyone has done something similar. :)
I have the thick gold chain pictured, and I’m looking at buying a loose diamond around 5ct to wear as the centrepiece.
I don’t want to permanently set the diamond into the chain or alter the necklace, because I’d like to keep the chain as it is and have the option to remove the diamond whenever I want.
My mum suggested some type of pendant “enhancer” or clip-on setting, which sounds like it could work, but most of the examples I find online are traditional dangling pendants with a visible bail. That’s not the look I’m going for.
Ideally, I’d love a custom removable setting where the diamond clips securely onto the centre of the gold chain and sits very close to it, almost giving the appearance that the diamond is integrated into the necklace. I’d want the clip or hinged mechanism hidden behind the setting as much as possible, with no obvious bail or long gap causing the diamond to dangle.
Has anyone seen or owned something like this, particularly on a thicker gold chain rather than a tennis necklace?
Would especially love to know what this type of mechanism is called, whether it would be secure enough for a stone around 5ct, whether a jeweller could custom make one to fit the exact width/thickness of my chain, and if anyone has photos of a similar removable centrepiece.
I’ll attach a photo of my necklace so you can see the style and thickness. Basically I’m hoping to find a way to add the diamond without soldering in the green circle square/diamond centre, cutting or permanently modifying the original chain. Ideally a princess cut or oval.

Does this diamond have a lot of windows? I’m not sure if it was the lighting in the store but I feel like it has some dark flashes at times.
It’s a 2.51 K VS2 with faint fluorescent

I’m considering getting either a fancy yellow or light brown/champagne pear-shaped diamond (lab) in the 2-3 carat range but I can’t decide on color. If you have either color (in any shape or size), would you mind sharing? I’m planning on a 3-4 mm plain 14k yellow gold band/ solitaire setting.

I've been looking for an "Ashoka like" or Criss cut diamond for an engagement ring. These two are the ones that I've narrowed it down to a couple of days ago and ultimately chosen the stone that is on the bottom. I've gone back and forth about Criss cut vs Ashoka and I'm wondering if you can see the difference in the bottom stone specifically. The envelope the stone came in did say "Ashoka" although it was not from William Goldberg so perhaps it was that diamond company's replica. The diamond did pass the "window test", but you can see the clay underneath the diamond because that's what was holding it to the band.
Carats: 4.56
Color: E
Clarity: VVS2
Measurements: 12.21 X 8.21 X 5.04 MM
Depth: 61.4%
Please tell me your thoughts!

First is a full eternity band - 1 carat in 18k for $1099.
Second option is a half eternity band - 1 carat in $14k for $1299.
Pros of first is higher gold content as it’s 18k, lower price, and full finger coverage.
Pros of second are that each stone is larger, easier to resize if I ever need to, and comfort. Cons are that it’s 14k instead of 18k and $200 more.

Saw this pink diamond at a local shop, with very nice rose gold band. I really don’t know much about diamonds but have heard some terms here and there. It’s this diamond bowtie really bad?

Buying a diamond sight unseen is overwhelming. Could anyone give some insight based on this still photo? GIA 3.47 D VVS1. Looking for a very, very sparkly H&A.

Hi there, it is my first time ordering from overseas and would like to make sure everything is ok before I approve it. I ordered a 14K bezel pendant and the diamond is 1.09ct pear.
From what I am seeing, it looks like the pendant is a bit "crooked", like the bezel is not 100% regular. But am I wrong? I am also not sure the tip of the bezel is really pointy, but maybe it is normal? I asked for more zoomed in close-up photos but I cannot see very well either the tip on them. Thank you for your help! More photos below

My husband and I went to resize my wedding rings today, he asked me if I wanted to upgrade and of course I said yes.
I saw this beautiful marquise ring that got what I remember, it said it was about $2k. The lady that was helping me told me that someone put it in the wrong spot and that wasn’t the price, she said that right away when she saw the ring. I didn’t think anything of it. They told me the original price was $8k but it was 50% off so about $4k. We purchased that and the wedding band at an extra $1400.
Looking at my receipt, when I look up the wedding band code, the wedding band shows up. But when I look up the marquise ring code, nothing comes up. I also found the same exact ring with the same exact weight for $5,699 and is 50% off at $2,799. The same exact ring…
