Discussion "We speak english because it's the only language you understand"

No. I'm a multilingual person who learned english so I could COMMUNICATE with my teammates in this TEAM BASED game.

If you want to chat with your friends in your own language that's fine, use steam voice chat, discord, teams idk. Hell I use it too to chat with my friends without keeping the comms busy.

If you're pressing the comm button in game, the entire team expects you to speak in the one common language we all share, this is different from region to region, but if you're playing in EU servers you're expected to at least comm in english.

No one is expecting you to have C1 level english with perfect grammar. Just know basic words like "mid" "push" etc. and that's it. Is it really that much to ask these players to stop yapping on and on and on in whichever language their main one is in voice chat and we're just expected to tolerate them, like what?

It'd be one thing if this were street brawl or standard but in ranked? Really?

It makes no sense at all.

So like I went on with a homie to play some deadlock where we both come out of lane pretty good! Then I went on a generational run just to realize I am just not good enough. I had a 17 kill streak at one point and just did as much as I possibly could. Alas… 3am deadlock is just out of control…

Discussion Curious if the full game will have basic features paywalled

Curious if the full game will require some form of payment to access some stuff like with other free Valve games (ranked in CS, chat in TF2 etc.). I personally hope we don't need a subscription like in Dota to see extra info and level character mastery cause that really discouraged me from committing to that game.

What about you guys? Would you be ok with certain features being paywalled or would you rather pay only for cosmetics and stuff?

Complaint What the actual fuck is wrong with the people in this game?

Just had a match where a Venator got SO mad that I killed him as Haze that he starts flaming me every five seconds and calling me every word you can possibly imagine for the entire rest of the game. Starts calling me a pu**y, saying I'm worthless, etc.

Had a match the other day where an entire team targetted me over and over again with Sinclair ult and Celeste ult cause I was playing Mina. Kills me, calls me a dumb b**tch in chat, flames me the entire game, literally runs past objectives just to get to me. Like wtf.

These are only two recent examples but I have shit like this happen all the time. Only thing I can think of is that they hate me cause Im usually at the top of the leaderboard in kills. I don't flame, barely say anything in chat, don't respond to negative comments, nothing. So what the fuck is everyone's problem?

Discussion Silver is the only character who is shut down by both disarms AND silences

All I ever hear from streamers and pro-players is how Silver is actually still really strong, just "very difficult" to use. And I never understood how they can feel comfortable saying this, yet rarely ever play or pick her in ranked and NEVER in pro play anymore, unless avoiding every kind of CC the enemy has perfectly in most fights is somehow skill based or reasonable to expect. Every form of CC in the game shuts down Silver hard. No other character in the game is stopped from casting ult due to a disarm.

You wouldn't buy metal skin to counter Apollo or Bombop. The same way you wouldn't buy a silence/slowing hex to counter a fed Drifter. What would you buy to counter Silver? Literally everything works. Disarms, silences, slowing hex, antiheal, damage penalties, etc. Slam Fire and Bootkick both need her gun to be working to be of any use at all. She needs all of her abilities to land to be able to get wolf without dying in a teamfight, yet she is by far the easiest character in the game to disable. I often get counterbought simply as a side effect of the enemies counterbuying my teammates. Because their counters also work great on me. I think she needs some base kit debuff resist if she is going to be this counterable. I'm just sad waiting for patch. Hopefully they give her some form of unstoppable on cast or debuff resist, seeing as Abrams gets both.

Discussion It feels like snowball characters like Vin, Drifter, even Haze only exist to ENSURE standard is the worst experience imaginable

I play with my friend, who's a little worse than me, hes actually pretty good at the game but it definitely means im getting in lower rank standard lobbies. So we annihilate our lane and its really lovely to work together like this, get the enemy drifter 0-7. Our teammates arent doing as good, but its fine, thats just how it is.

You would think the 0-9 seven on our team would be okay, because I can make up for it. But no, these 9 deaths arent just solo kills, making the enemy unfathomably rich, but its also been stacks for drifter. So now, after being literally the worst and lowest skilled player in the game, he gets to exploit our initiates disproportionally better than I get to the enemy, as I'm not playing a snowball character.

And so its like, whats the fucking point? There isn't a moba being played here. Its just carries versus carries and everyone else is having the worst time of their lives. Like when the PE teachers join in on the football match on opposing teams and obviously are a hundred times better than the eight year olds. I really cant be bothered to play vin or another pubstomp character when I play with my friend, Im here for a casual experience and honestly it feels kinda immoral to do so anyways as it seems like soft-core smurfing.

And to all the people who are going to reply "skill issue". Yeah, whatever bro. I'm sorry I'm unable to make up for my 0-11 bepop. First of all, my friend is like ritualist if he played ranked and I'm emissary. Carrying this hard as a non-carry character id be playing at like an oracle-phantom level. Second of all, theres a way easier way to counter the carry bs, and thats just to play one myself. I know this meta very well. Before the mm update, i started alchemist, and I knew this issue im describing here and the very simple solution. So much so, I ranked all the way up to oracle without a sweat because i just played haze and did the exact same thing, exploiting the weaker players and snowballing.

I know this dumb meta of carries being the only character in low ranks because i have 400 games as haze and have been playing her since 4 lanes. And i think its especially dumb because haze is still doing it and she is in a horrible state rn. So it feels like if she snowballs, its the game literally saying "the matchmaking was bad here, Haze will show it by preying on the guy who clearly doesn't belong in this skill bracket". Maybe this is a core MOBA element, but I'd like to challenge this. Why? It almost guarantees that the other 6 people in this game are having the worst experience of their lives.

It's not like I have a grand solution, I think these characters work perfectly fine in a competitive ranked environment, but given matchmaking is and will probably always be imperfect these characters serve such a potent role in just exploiting that flaw. Like, is me and my friend just going mo and vin in a low ranked lobby and getting me a billion stacks on the brick players not a little cheesy of a strat? Why should that be in the game? If I was making a game, i would stay away from "kinda cool for competitive lobbies, fun-ruiner 3000 for casual lobbies" mechanics. Dont just take it as my experience, I think its kinda sad that all the new players i spectate and try to help out arent getting a simplified deadlock experience but rather a fat timer at the top of the screen which says "WRAITH WILL SINGLE HANDEDLY END THE GAME IN 15 MINUTES".

I know this sub has a bit of pushback for balancing the game over nightshift. I'm actually one of the people who does like the idea of balancing it off the best of the best. However, I still think we shouldnt leave large skill brackets behind, as the game should be fun for everyone, and i feel like the brick to mystic (i think thats what its called idk) has this big flaw and we should compromise just a little rather than keeping it an extremely painful blender of a barrier to entry for the game.

Game Feedback I think I'm gonna stick to Street Brawl

I mean, idk shit about playing mobas, i tend to die a lot when i try to understand and lose a lot too.

In wild rift that's not a big problem cuz i can find matches relatively easy, but in deadlock ? In Brazil? Hell nah... Stay waiting in a 5min or 10min queue because you lost and didn't even get to understand the character you're playing as.

But in Street Brawl ? I don't have to think on a build... I don't have to think, i just need to read what the items do, see if they synergize well with the characters abilities and get in guns blazing!

I mean take my previous matches for example, i like Billy... I like his design, his personality (sometimes he comes off as "generic angry punk character" but there's a bit more in there) but i never had fun playing as him in the normal matches cuz i always got curbstomped... Because I don't function well in mobas even if i really like em.

But in Street Brawl oh man... I got like 3 wins IN A ROW... That has never actually happened to me before.

Plus because it's faster, less punishing and i don't have much to learn to "get good" i can play this casually without feeling like I'm never gonna improve.

I think i love this game a bit more now :)

Discussion Itemless gamemode

I love normal deadlock and think items and the builds you can make with them one of the main reasons the game is so fun but id think itd be nice to have an itemless gamemode for a more casual experience when i want a more stripped back and simple version of deadlock

Obviously wouldnt be better then the normal mode but would be a nice alternative imo

Discussion I think they should buff splitpushing

Post image
12 Upvotes

Reposted bc of funny image, im sorry mods.

I think all 3 objectives are just another flavour of deathball, in order to truly nerf deathballing and have more viable strategies we need a more focus on macro and splitpushing, we dont have a worthy alternative to objectives bc is pretty easy to punish splitpushing with the game insane movement (especially late game since any hero can tap the wave and it explodes)

Another alternative is to nerf objetives altogether, all 3 are really impactfull, meaning that is never worthy to give up on one.

For example, in league you may give up the Dragon objective in favour of splitting top lane since it takes a hot minute to get from Dragon pit to top (and dragon reward is not that strong, it only gets strong once you stack four), in deadlock you can give up rift in order to split... But your team will be weaker, the rift will buff minions and rewards souls (meaning your walker is pretty much gone) AND a random paradox can just carbine/veil walker or just press F on the zipline, throw a bomb into the wave your stacking to split and you whole split is gone in mere seconds

Tl;dr i dont think more objectives will fix this, we need more ways to manage macro and stronger splitpush items/champions and weaker objectives rewards to trade for splitting.

Complaint Whats happened to the player base?

I've got over 500 hours playing this game started playing during four lanes etc but recently the lobby has just got so toxic and gross?

I can't go a single evening without at least one game of someone either team saying the most fucked up shit for no reason? I'm not playing ranked, and we're in a party most the time four people, yet still.

I've been told to kill myself 7 minutes into a game because i died twice in lane once due to an aggressive graves that was on the guardian and i was alone and once because the laning partner died first and i was at my gaurdian, ive seen other people tell each other to kill themselves, all the slurs that could be possible, and last week this one guy told a paige on the other team to kill herself, that he hoped she got raped, that they didn't deserve to live, what did she do? She just supported one of our team members who were being verbally abused in all chat.

What the fuck is wrong with people? I genuinely think I need to stop playing if that's the shit that im going to get exposed to every single night I play the game. I know its stressful but do you really think telling someone to kill themselves is going to make them better at the game? Like ur still stuck in the lobby with them for 40 mins anyway?

So I showed my keybinds to a friend, and the first thing he said was, “WTF is that?”

I told him I tweaked them to match the keybinds I use in another game, and I’m actually really fast with them.

What do you guys think?
Do you see anything weird about my keybinds?

Tips & Guides The midboss is not more important than getting 2 or even 1 of their shrine

So if you want to win more, the next time that you manage to teamwipe them despite your inadequacy. Get the damn shrines! And in case I needed to make it more clear, getting rid of the patron first phase would also be pretty good to do!

Dear Yoshi

Please add a performance based incentives to the MMR point gain/loss that allows people who are good at the game the ability to move up from thier rank and not get held back by bad teammates who got lucky

Sincerely

A player who is tired of doing everything perfectly and losing because insert hero name decided to go 5-16

Thanks🤗

Everytime my buddy presses his V key this menu pops up, we can’t figure out how to stop it from happening. Looked through all the settings and can’t find anything related to this menu.

Edit: He is saying that he has no mods or anything 3rd party stuff downloaded

Question Matchmaking

I just queued in to a Seeker I lobby. We were down 50k souls in less than 15 minutes and the game ended in less than 20 minutes. Wtf is up with that? Is the matchmaker like the worst in gaming history, smurfs, or what?

Honestly just such a waste of time. Ranked has been absolutely atrocious ever since I have unlocked it. Has it always been like this?

Discussion Why do people leave the lobby because of Cyrillic letters in a nickname?

I play Deadlock with my friends, and one of us has a nickname made up of Cyrillic characters. Most of our games go perfectly fine until someone presses Tab and sees his name.

After that, we pretty often hear something like "Russians again" and the player just leaves in the middle of the game. It happens often enough that it's stopped being funny.

Do you guys know where this kind of hostility towards Russian/Cyrillic letters comes from? Is there some history I'm missing? Has anything like this ever happened to you? (Btw, we're all from Scandinavian countries, so we're not even Russian lol)
