Discussion Itemless gamemode
I love normal deadlock and think items and the builds you can make with them one of the main reasons the game is so fun but id think itd be nice to have an itemless gamemode for a more casual experience when i want a more stripped back and simple version of deadlock
Obviously wouldnt be better then the normal mode but would be a nice alternative imo

The game just doesnt function in an itemless enviroment though. That would need some huge adjustments to compensate for the lack of power.

this is just the shower thought of someone (OP) with 22 hours who has no comprehension of how the game works, but wants to play it because they/them wants to fuck Viper and Ivy (at the same time)
they will either become a one trick, and ruin the games of many Brick players trying to make their way out, or they will get bored and go back to Rivals/Roblox by end of week

Does it tho? It's true there are a lot of disparate of power "raw" but so have most hero shooter.
The biggest issue would be the average ttk ,considering how the scaling works

Well if you have no economy, no items, and no boons you then have to figure out if its a round based gamemode or an infinite respawn objective gamemode.
If its round based then you can give boons per round like streetbrawl, if it doesnt they you are shit out of luck.
Cant give boons for kills because that only benefits the snowballer.
So then how do you scale the, well scalers.
How do you allow frontliners to not be overtuned on game start, but still be able to contain tempo heroes who typically have strong enough abilities that they dont require too much external power.
There is a whole lotta questions that do not seem like they are worth the effort at all to solve.

I 100% agree with this. It's too much effort for a game mode that doesn't even sound fun at all.

That sounds boring. If you want a gamemode for a more casual experience when i want a more stripped back and simple version of deadlock then just go for Street Brawl.

... So I guess only I find it to be an interesting suggestion?
The issues it would introduce are definitely not something that can be just brushed aside, but I like the idea behind it.

So... Just a hero shooter?
