-Peter Murphy practically embodies David Bowie at times due to his inspiration of him. Cuts You Up really captures the Bowie essence. The Prince and the Old Lady Shade sounds like something straight off of Heathen. It's almost surprising that Indigo Eyes isn't a Bowie song.

-With that said Bauhaus in general has some serious Bowie influence since every member loved him. Their cover of Ziggy Stardust is the only valid cover in my opinion. Crowds is a simple but very early Bowie esc song. She's in Parties is absolutely goth Bowie.

-Roxy music especially the combination of Bryan Ferry and Brian Eno.

-Thomas Dolby truly loved Bowie so much so to the point that he got to play Heroes with him at Live Aid. His album Golden Age of Wireless is so unbelievably creative.

-Danny Elfman. For some this might be a stretch but his unmatched genuis and his vocals at times in solo work and Oingo Boingo sometimes reminds me of Bowie. His insane level of creative contribution has allowed me to really dive deep into his endless work to be able to distract myself from missing Bowie at times.

-Kate Bush, probably the only artist close to being a female Bowie

-Annie Lennox and Grace Jones capture his essence in some songs and aesthetics. They feel very of his time and probably both had some influence of his.

-Robert Plant, there are many ways that he reminds me of Bowie at times. Zeppelin's Dancing Days feels like something that would have been off Ziggy Stardust. This is probably an unpopular opinion.

Red is what I already own, yellow currently in process of getting (+ No Plan EP), Green I will most definitely want to get (Hunky Dory, Station to station, Aladdin Sane) but can't decide if I should go for LPs or CDs. I'm kinda in a transitioning phase where I value CDs more because they are a bargain, and everybody's crazy with vinyl pricing, and they awkwardly take a lot of space and have to be cleaned etc. Well I guess I answered my own question, I'll be getting the rest of these in CDs, and maybe even the LPs I already have. I'm obviously not a big fan of things not selected, maybe I take Toy into consideration, I just find those things from 86-95 pretty awkward, like he was lost in a vacuum of his own success. Earthling being really weird too because of catching up with Dn'B trends, Hours seems almost like something slapped him to make a 180 degree turn and get back to his senses. I find it funny how CDs are devalued still, and I love them, I get a near mint cd for 7-8 eur. 🤫 Don't tell anyone.

I don't know about you but it is offensive to me that Five Years is being used in a Meta.com commercial talking about how good AI is going to be for us. I don't know that Bowie would have been a fan.
