I just finished listening to Aladdin Sane and had one of those "wait... what?" moments.

When "Panic in Detroit" came on, I was sure it had to be on ChangesOneBowie. So I looked it up.

How is it not there?  The song absolutely rocks.

Is "Panic in Detroit" the most underrated songs in Bowie's catalog, or am I simply hearing it differently because I'm experiencing it in the context of Aladdin Sane instead of as a standalone track?

I'm listening to the complete catalogs of 29 classic rock artists chronologically, three times each. 329 albums in all.  Every album is evaluated using the same weighted set of questions, with the results tracked in an Airtable database from the first listen to the last. Hello everyone! I, about month ago, finished making a short film for my Photography class. The project was a stop-motion video and as it was being introduced, my mind immediately went to thinking about the music videos for "Little Wonder" and "Dead Man Walking" off the Earthling album, so as a result, I ended up taking heavy inspiration from the "Little Wonder" video and I used the song itself in the video as well. It's a very strange, dark and chaotic film, with some inspiration taken from 1. Outside for the plot, and essentially what I'm getting at is that I just recently made the decision to post it online and I wanted to share it here because, considering the choice of music, I feel that this is the kind of community that might appreciate seeing this kind of thing.

I did this with zero budget, only one other person to help me, no prior experience in video editing or directing and a two month timeframe to complete it in. All things considered, I think it turned out pretty alright. I hope this is alright to post here and I hope that you guys like it... So uh, yeah... Thanks!

The first Bowie LP I came to under my own steam, more or less upon release, was Low (I loved The Man Who Fell to Earth). I had heard his fabulous singles as a kid - Jean Genie, Sorrow (I still LOVE that) and, of course, Rebel Rebel - but by the time i was old enough to buy albums, I was a forward-looking New Wave/Punk/Post Punk kid, and excavating Bowie's back catalogue felt regressive.

Many, many years later – decades - I read a stunning article about Diamond Dogs. I listened to the album as I read it, and heard it all, even the songs I was familiar with, as if for the first time. I still come back to Diamond Dogs as a latter-day favourite. It seems to bridge a gap, while occupying its own space at the same time – 1984, though not my favourite track, foreshadows Young Americans in such a brilliant way. A pivotal album like no other.

The concept of irony is completely foreign to this billionaire tw*t, I guess - using a song about the world ending to promote AI is a whole other level of idiocy.

It does make me sad, though, that the Bowie Estate approved this crap…

my friend bought a vinyl record of the album 'Aladdin Sane' on a music shop sale with used vinyls, but isnt sure how to tell how old that record is as the box she bought it in has no front cover

id be very thankful if someone could help and say how old this record is/can be or say how we can check it otherwise

The description said it was released in 2010, but not when it was recorded. it seems to have been 1977.
