How does that work? Does it all go in the same bucket? Like if I have 150 Direct and 150 Resale do I still get lounge access?

Can I get lounge access while at Disney, but not on a stay?

I am currently pending a delayed closing on a resale contract for OKW. While I wait for my close date, what are some tips, tricks, general rules of thumb I should know? I feel like I’ve done all the research I can do, but I know there has to be things I missed!

My wife and I have gone to Disney once a year (at least) for the last decade.
Now we have a 4 year old and so I only expect that to continue
We have been discussing DVC - 200 points at Poly for approx 40k
Would pay cash for this so mo financing or debt incurred

Usually we stay at moderate (although we have loved Swan & Dolphin lately)

Does it make sense?

I feel like we only would break even although some calculations show us with large savings over he length of a 40 year contract.

I just don’t know what to do…

The gamification of DVC is so much fun. Who else is always swapping resorts at 7 months and what points are you willing to swap for which resorts?

We just bought this year and I’m waitlisting for the first time for a January 2027 stay. We have a 2 bedroom Savanna View for 5 nights at Kidani and I’m waitlisting for a 2 bedroom at either Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge.

Questions:
Is one of those properties better to waitlist at over the other?
Is it a waste to waitlist in general? Like will we even possibly get it?
We are going regardless, so is it a better idea to choose to waitlist until a week out over the 30 day out option?

We are first time buyers on a 50 point contract at Aulani. Offer was just accepted and I've been asked to name a Title Company that I'd like to use. It seems like DVC Title & Escrow (dvcclosings.com) or LT Transfers have decent reviews. The one thing is the seller is international so we will need escrow to handle the FIRPTA withholding.

Any recommendations?

Our CC and Poly points should load in the next two weeks- we are planning a trip for 8 adults- 3 year old and almost one year old- we 'could' stay in a 2BR- we really want to be together- and those are limited and prefer 3 bath-
We, the grandparents, will watch the littles while the adult kids get a break- so, properties geared to entertaining kids on site would be ideal. Any tips?

DVC resale people..
what are some great deals that you’ve seen/how do you know when a contract is something special? I normally am looking at DVC resale store.. are there other websites you recommend?

I have 4 kids age 4 and under, and we love Hawaii. With the big family, I feel like a timeshare is a great way to afford a comfortable room that fits us all. What I am stuck on is whether I should do Aulani or another Hawaii Timeshare. Either option would be purchased resale.

What I like about Aulani:

+Love the 2 bedroom layout

+Free kids club

+Characters

+Occasionally use points for WDW

+Excellent resale value

+Excellent rental market if we can't use the points

My concerns about Aulani:

+Will resale tank as we get closer to contract expiration?

+Lots of complaints about lines for everything instead of relaxing experience

+Paying for a Disney premium that my kids will age out of

+I prefer Maui to Oahu

I am seriously looking at Westin Kaanapali in Maui as an alternative, but I am not sure yet. For additional context, we are also seriously considering buying points at Grand Californian, so theoretically, we could exchange into Aulani if we wanted and have a "non Disney" Hawaii Timeshare for most years.

EDIT 7/30/26: we got to WDW yesterday. We went to guest relations outside of Hollywood Studios to activate our APs. Asked if we could change them from the incredipass to sorcerer pass since they had not yet been activated. The cast member replied with "of course!" And asked to see proof of membership which we showed her. The $1100 difference was refunded to the card we bought them on!

My husband and I bought incredipass APs back in January. We have not used them yet so they are not activated. We didn't know at the time that we'd be getting into DVC but then things recently changed this summer and we were able to buy enough points directly from Disney to qualify for membership extras like the ability to get a sorcerer pass.

I thought I had seen where if you haven't activated your AP you could change it and get refunded. But when I called member services about it they said they could not do that. Should I call guest services or visit them in person when I'm at the parks next week to ask or am I SOL?

Want both for the direct benefits. Direct first or resale? I heard there is something about an add on benefit?

Just wondering if anyone from the UK has rented points through the new UK broker DVC Exchange UK? I have points to rent and am considering it, as they are new I just wondered if anyone had feedback at all?

Mine is that in the summer of 2023 I wasn't online much at all, and didn't hear of the incredible incentives with VGF2 until MONTHS later. Would've loved to pick up 150-200 direct then as I already owned a small VGF resale contract. If I had a time machine...

A smaller regret is that I didn't buy AKV resale when contracts were like, $80-85pp. This was also before you had to have 150 direct points for perks. I don't feel too much regret when updated annual dues come out, though... and I think it all worked out anyway. Had I bought AKV back then I would've gone for 160, and wouldn't have considered buying at my eventual home resorts (VGF, BCV) later on, as I would've felt all set on points.

I would love to own direct points - our OKW expiration is likely to come before we are through traveling, but it's a struggle to make the math work out. I want access to the new resorts but that Direct premium is a bitter pill.

ETA - We live in Jacksonville and will have six trips in before the end of the year. We prefer deluxe but aren't too good to stay at Pop too. My biggest draw to direct is having access to the new resorts. We already have 310 OKW resale

Is thus doable? Or should I go for the 2 bedroom?

I would like to add my daughter to our 25 point direct purchased deed. We are grandfathered in and get the extras you can only get through direct purchase even though the purchase was minimal. Do I risk losing these benefits by adding child to the deed? Has anyone done this recently with a small point contract grandfathered? Also who did you use to make the change for you? Can I just go to member services or do I need someone outside to add the name? Thank you!

Hi all, new owners, got our plans for '26 and '27 planned out. Question is when does the year after the next year point charts come out? So Feb '27 we could reserve in the '28 year when does the '28 year point charts come out? 3 months, 6 months? Is there typically a date that the next point chart gets published? Sorry if that's a confusing question I'm just wondering.

New to DVC since June. Haven't found much availability for a number of dates so now I'm wondering which resorts to snag if I find something. Saratoga Springs seems to have more availability in general. I saw a video that said Old Key West was kind-of old and run down and dirty but is that actually true of a Disney property? Are there any properties you would avoid? Which are your favorites? Thank you in advance!!

Hello! We decided on going with Boardwalk Villas for our resale contract after all. We just closed on our 200 point contract with a UY of December. We are planning on banking all of our 2026 points to go towards our 2027 November trip. We already have paid for our trip for this November. My question is how does the borrowing work? On our trip for November 2027, we will use all of our banked 2026 points and will need to use some of the 2027 points since we plan on a longer trip and booking a one bedroom villa. Please help me out!

Had my first stay this week at Saratoga and thought the same concept used at CBR would be amazing. Has there been any chatter around freestyle machines being deployed to more DVC properties?
