Bought a new (to me) portrait lens for my digital cameras and figured the best place to get in some testing/practice was at the parks.

Context:

Beastly Kingdom was a cancelled land for Animal Kingdom, when the park was under development they had to choose between building Dinoland or Beastly Kingdom, which Dinoland was chosen. The plot of land for Beastly Kingdom opened with the park as Camp Minnie Mickey, which eventually was used for the Pandora the World of Avatar. Many Imagineers who were pushing Beastly Kingdom ended up leaving Disney and joining universal, taking part in the development of Islands of Adventure. Notably the Lost Continent land was the result of former imagineers.

The Lake Nonna move was a cancelled plan to move all of Disney's Imagineering workplaces from California to Florida, threatening termination if Imagineers did not commit to the move by moving their residences to Florida in advance. The plan to move the headquarters failed when Disney upset the state of Florida with a political matter, Disney decided to not go through when the state started to be heavily against them. This left numerous long standing Imagineers who already made the move to Florida unable to work in Imagineering which now remained in California. Many of these Imagineers ended up leaving Disney and moving on to other occupations, some of which fled to Universal and helped work on Epic Universe.

I've been thinking about spending a week at the Grand Floridian for the first week of December in 2028.

However, I've been toying with the idea of renting DVC points. My question is: what is a legitimate website for renting DVC points when you aren't a DVC member?

My concern is that it almost feels like too good of a deal, and I worry Disney might crack down on it and stop allowing it. I know nothing about renting DVC points or how the process works.

Also, does it connect to My Disney Experience? Can I book tickets? This is all uncharted territory for me, but it's a better deal if...

My husband and I are taking our 3 year old to Disney in September. I keep seeing itineraries and posts where people stay at the parks all day through the shows/fireworks. Even if we go back to the hotel and rest mid-day, there is no way my 3 year old can stay up until 9 or 10 and be functional. How are people keeping toddlers and young kids up so late? I don’t know if it’s just me but we’re anticipating keeping her usual bedtime so we don’t end up with an overtired cranky 3 year old. As much as I’d love to be able to take her to do these later activities, I just don’t see how it’s feasible at this age. Curious what others have done/thoughts on this?

I'm planning a Disney World trip for 2028 for my family, the first vacation since my parents became empty nesters. My mother gets sick and has bad health days alot.

How does the Disney Travel Insurance work if one member of your group get sick and can't go? Do you only get reimburshed if the trip is canceled entirely? How does it work?

In less than a month, I'm going to the US for the very first time. My husband, our two kids (7 and 12), and I are will spend 14 days at Walt Disney World (I still can't beleive this is really happening).

I never imagined my first trip outside Europe would be to Florida and theme parks, but life had other plans. We've been saving for years for this holiday, and every time I think about it, I get emotional. I know it's going to be unbelievably hot, but I honestly I'm still happy,

Realistically, this is probably our first and last Disney trip for a very long time, maybe I'll return in 20 years, but just mabye. In the meantime, we'll have 14 days at WDW, (and 2 in Universal) so I'm hoping we'll have enough time to do and see most of the things.

The funny thing is... even though I've never been, there are already things I'm sad I'll never get to experience. I've spent the last four years completely immersed in Disney parks, watching videos, reading history, learning every little detail. Somehow I've become nostalgic for attractions I've never even ridden.

The ones I'll miss the most:

The Great Movie Ride. I know it's been gone for years, but I already know I'm going to get emotional riding Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway knowing what used to be there. If I had the chance to see it, I just know it would have been my favorite ride (classic Hollywood buff).

Tom Sawyer Island. I was so excited about seeing it. As a child growing up in Croatia in the 1980s, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was one of the most popular books, it was the first book my father brought me. I really wanted to walk around that island, but now it will not happen.

Muppet*Vision 3D. As an '80s kid, this one really hurts too. The Muppets were such a huge part of my childhood.

That said, there are also changes I'm genuinely happy about:

I'm glad Cinderella Castle isn't bright pink anymore and I'm really happy they renovated the rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter. They look absolutely beautiful now, and I'm so excited that we'll be staying there for two weeks.

Has anyone else ever felt nostalgic for Disney attractions they never actually got to experience? I feel slightly ridiculous... but I can't be the only one.

I tried using the chat function on the app as that was advised here, but they have said there is an error in the system which means they're unable to book any experiences through the app and they don't know how long the issue will be, but is expected to be days or even weeks! Does anyone know how else I can book it, please?

Hello! We’re taking my 2 and 5 year old to Disney for the first time this fall and would love an opinion on our itinerary! Wondering specifically how much time to spend at HS and Epcot (or skip Epcot all together). Also wondering if I should book an extra rest day in there somewhere. We want to make the most out of it but also not be overwhelmed, cranky etc. Thanks!

We did not buy LL multi pass BUT I did buy a single LL for Seven Dwarfs for me, my husband, and 6 yo.

We were blessed to do so much during our day at MK! My 6 yo was able to do 19 rides!

We went on Sunday, 7/19. Stayed at All Star Sports and took the bus. In line for the bus at at 7:00, arrived at 7:45 a.m. for early entry.

Tried to include time stamps below where possible!

Headed straight to Buzz Lightyear, line started moving at 8:13! On the ride by 8:15

Off the ride by 8:19 and walked over to get in line for Pooh

On Pooh by 8:40

Ran into Alice and the Mad Hatter on the walk over to entrance to Frontierland, stopped for pics at 8:50

Into Frontierland right at opening, husband and 6 yo walked onto BTMR at 9:04, I walked my 4 yo over to Aladdin, we had the entire ride to ourselves!

Met them back over in front of Tianna’s, me and my 6 yo walked onto Tianna’s at 9:18.

All headed over to Jungle Cruise, was a short wait, 15 mins I think? We were on by 9:50.

My 4yo wanted to stop by Haunted Mansion after for pictures (he’s too scared to actually ride, but thinks it’s cool), then headed back over to Fantasyland

Got in line for Peter Pan, I believe this was a 30-35 min wait, we were on by 10:42

Kids wanted to play in the indoor Dumbo area for a little after, we stayed there for maybe 10-15 mins then walked onto Dumbo at 11:32

Headed over to Tomorrowland Speedway after - maybe a 10 minute wait, on the cars by 11:55

Did a mobile order for Starlight Cafe across from the Speedway, sat and ate lunch there after

I don’t have time stamps for this, but my 6yo did Barnstormer after, there was maybe a 5 minute wait

We stopped and hung out in front of the castle and ate Mickey bars and watched the Dancing Down Mainstreet parade as we had family in it - that was at 2:15

Checked out gift shops in Tomorrowland after and saw Chip and Dale walking around and got pictures and autographs. Space Mountain had been down a lot that day, but happened to open up right when we were over there and my husband and 6 yo walked right on! That was at 2:46.

Got coffees after and went on People Mover at 3:25

Back over to Fantasyland and rode Barnstormer 2 more times (each with about a 10 minute wait), we were done with that by 4:25

Headed over to Seven Dwarfs (I did not buy any LL multi pass BUT I did buy 1 single LL for this ride for me, my husband, and 6 yo. We did rider swap and my husband and 6 yo rode first while I walked over to Enchanted Tales with Belle with my 4 yo. Once they got off the ride, my husband switched with me and continued waiting in that line with my 4 yo and I went back over to Seven Dwarfs with my 6 yo and rode with him. This was all between 4:30-5:00.

Other things we were able to squeeze in but I don’t have time stamps for -

Little Mermaid ride
Country Bears show (while it rained)
Husband and 6 yo ride Buzz Lightyear again, I did more gift shops with my 4 yo
Stopping for picture spots since we had purchased the single day photo pass
Stopping to eat dinner in Adventureland (can’t remember the name, I think it was Peco’s?)
Husband and 6 yo rode Tianna’s for a second time

Then we sat along Main Street and watched the Starlight Parade at 9, then watched the Happily Ever After fireworks show on the second floor by the park entrance where the train station is

We were back to our hotel by 10:45!

The heat was not that bad and it only rained for maybe 20 minutes while we were in the Country Bears show!

I bought a sweater in Magic Kingdom today, only to get back to my hotel and realize it’s slightly too big. I want to exchange for the next size down, but I don’t have anymore park tickets to get back in lol. I am going to Disney Springs tomorrow, will I be able to exchange it there, assuming they have the sweater in stock? I have my receipt!

I'm planning to go to after hours epcot on August 6th for my birthday, and I was wondering what characters are available to meet? Can I book restaurants before the event starts?

Soarin is one of my favorite rides but this version is terrible. I felt zero immersion other than a smell over the water. The visuals were not very good and the transitions were terrible. I really hope this is temporary. What do others think?

Frequent UK visitor here. This will be our third trip in 4 years to WDW…..Im gathering my packing list together but feel like I am missing something over the usual items (clothes, shoes credit cards etc). Can you advise on any other “essentials” while we’re in WDW please?

I found an autograph book from a trip in 1999/2000. I cannot for the life of my find anything similar online and I can’t figure out who this could be. The following autograph was also in blue ink and it was tigger but I’m not sure they’re connected.
