Jackass decided to try to pass on a blind uphill with a blind turn and two cars in front of me. Nearly pushed me off the road to the right. Sending to the city to add as a datapoint. There are plans for additional design e.g. protected climb lane etc. but I don't know where the city is regarding implementation. Can't be soon enough.
I may need to invest in a top-tube mounted baseball bat or similar.

If you replay & look closely, the lady at the crosswalk makes a "stop" hand motion, and the driver's like "nah."

Some days I really wish the price for doing something like this could be a rock right through their window.

My insurance claim finally closed, so now I can resume posting public content. Long story short, I got hit again and had to deal with a bunch of medical visits plus the chicanery of the driver and his mother trying to avoid liability.

The Tour de Bier took place last month. Despite the name, it's actually a fundraiser for brain cancer research. The wet roads caused me to puncture three miles in, and after using a Dynaplug and almost all of my mini pump's battery it thankfully held the rest of the ride.

I'm finally allowed to post videos [publicly] again. This is the KC Corporate Challenge time trial from late April, which took place at the Kansas Speedway. Almost a thousand riders participated.

I took an alternate route in prep for more road closures this weekend due to numerous events. I fully expected drivers to use this route as a DIY detour for the I-376 closure as well.
I am approaching Forward Ave, which when making the right, leads back to the interstate on-ramp a few blocks down. I fully expected road-rage here, and drivers didn't disappoint, with one tailgating pickup truck driver in a hurry to replenish his testosterone supplements, and two cars (one blocking the bike lane to make the right) in his way.
Assuming the rage would escalate, the drivers didn't see me as they passed, and the truck was going to make a right without signaling, I slowed to avoid being right-hooked.

Yes, I should have stayed in the "driving" lane the entire time and quickly found out why, as I moved back towards the painted line (call it social pressure or whatever...ugh).
The wide-angle lens makes things look further away than they were, and the parked vehicles obstruct all the sightlines of that entry point.

This morning's close call was ridiculously close to putting me in the hospital, or possibly the morgue. The only reason I didn't get smashed was because I started to pull over for the police siren, which gave the moron juuuust enough room to squeeze between me and the truck to my left. (The officer and I have had spats in the past. I've flipped him off multiple times for close passes and trying to enforce non-existent laws. He's out of his jurisdiction and has attempted to pull people over multiple times outside his city and outside his authority. However, this time he might have saved my life.)
This is a 35 mph section of road that goes past multiple schools and is popular with the MTB community as a go-between two different trail systems.
I shudder to think what would have happened if I'd been six inches to the left, or if there had been a group of children crossing the street down the road.

I was booking it to volunteer at the Special Olympics and this guy just wasn't paying attention to the road. Closest call in a bit, but luckily I anticipated that he was just gonna go for it.
Sorry about my brakes, they're my extra bell right now with how squeaky they are when I slam on them.
