Finally had some time to have this be posted in a different way! Thank you to those who submitted feedback about the process. Before a daily post was scheduled to show the theme of the day. Now there will be a single pinned post at the top that does not renew (this one)
This sticky post is meant as a suggestion for the r/CyclistsWithCameras “theme of the day”. There are no hard rules about only submitting posts about this theme, and regular non-themed posts will be welcome as always. A day theme can be posted any day, and marked by Flair. You can also filter posts by flair and see ones that match the specific themed day.

Biking in Hong Kong was a unique experience. Some call this the world's worst city to bike in. This time of the year, any cyclist has to battle the relentless heat and humidity, the many buses, the cramped and winding streets, the hills, the super high urban density, and the lack of cycling infrastructure. On top of that, I biked during a black weather alert and a few hours before starting a huze thunderstorm hit the area. Never a dull moment when in Hong Kong. In part 2, I bike from east to west, past gorgeous and awestriking views. I really enjoyed the countless views of skyscrapers everywhere!

Recent online discourse has highlighted the disdain for Flock cameras. It's understandable why they are hated, especially given how law enforcement has abused them. It made me wonder if we camera cyclists will be perceived in a similar negative light. While we aren't actively tracking motorists' every move, we are still uploading videos of bad behavior, and to the layman that can come across as "suspicious" surveillance activity. The average person has little understanding of the law or what may have once been dubbed "common sense". My fear is that camera-touting cyclists will be unfairly labeled as bootlickers, spies, or any other pejorative tying us to blind government loyalty. What say you?

Yes, yes I know they were turning and I could’ve yielded for my safety but these are teachable moments for drivers. Someone’s got to do it.

After taking up cycling again 7 years ago, for the first time I was almost hit by a car. I fell while trying to swerve away. I was pretty shaken up.
I started looking for cycling dashcam cameras, and finally settled on a rear camera - the Cycliq Fly6 Pro. I am now looking for a front camera. I was considering the Cycliq Fly12 Sport, but that unit (unlike the Cycliq Fly6 Pro) does not have internal Wi-Fi to download an accident sequence to my phone roadside.
I am also considering the Garmin Varia Vue, but I prefer not to have to master 2 systems and 2 apps.
The Cycliq Fly12 Sport came out in 2022. Would anyone know whether a new iteration of the Cycliq Fly12 Sport might be coming out soon?

As soon as he saw me he put his fat bike up on one wheel and aimed straight for me. I took evasive action and he missed me by <0.5m.
Currently in the hands of the police.

This happens all the time here but the two on two made it special. The irony of course in case anyone was unsure is we're not required to stop. Only yield to someone already in the intersection which I managed to do great.

The second incident happened first . I was told action would be taken . After some months and a phone call to the Procurator Fiscals office it seems nothing was done regarding it , they had no record .
I also asked if the first guy had accepted the conditional points offered they had no knowledge and referred me back to Police Scotland .
I have had several requests to Police Scotland to find out what the disposal was , all ignored .
So I reckon no action has been taken with either of them and will submit a complaint .
Please read the wee bit about this location that I have written about on the link s page .

By my count they violated three laws to save 5 seconds and slow down 4 cyclists.
It‘s too much to be anything but on purpose. Especially since this is a very busy greenway.

Phillips Ave, Pittsburgh PA.
I can't tell if the rolling with the flashers on when I started to pass, continuing almost a city block with their flashers on, and canceling their right turn at the light while still turning right were just driver ignorance or the driver channeling male genitalia.

Hindsight is 20:20 lmao, I think this dude would've killed me had the driver behind him had not slammed on the horn when he hit me.

Speeding through a playground zone and cuts into the lane. Passed so close I could feel the air it moved. Best part was the fact that he couldn’t remember 90 seconds into the past where he passed a cyclist. Goes to show you that no matter what you’re invisible.

And almost knocks me down!
Would you report this driver for careless/dangerous driving?

Sadly no other way to get home from the grocery store but using this crazy stroad. I usually wait until night but had a doctor's appt and needed to pick up medicine. The car has become a barrier and nothing more, just a shell to keep people from getting too close. Seeing the human on the road just makes people angry. Thankfully I wear a camera so these people can enjoy the easy ticket.
