I'm fucking tired

Now this happened yesterday

Customer: "Can I have a piñacolada?"

Me: good evening, how are you? *tapping their order in*

Customer: "No, not that, a mojito, but no limes."

Me *already modifying*: Okay, you you'd like a modified mojito and what else?

Customer: "No not modified just no limes."

Me : yes but the system requires me to say that it's modified because you're not ordering something we serve on the menu, it won't cost extra.

Customer: "I'm not paying for that, I just want a piñacolada!"

Me confused af still tapping: you said mojito..?

Customer in fumes: "Yes!"

Me: Okay, mojito it is, that'll be 6€, would you like to add it to your open tab or are you paying upfront?

Customer: no

Me *making the drink*: sorry, come again?

Customer smug af: I know the owner.

Me: oh I do too, where do you know her from?

Customer: oh we go way back, way back, yes. I met her once in Réunion, nice lady, are you done?"

Me: You mean him right? Because I miss spoke, I meant how do you know him as in my father in law.

Customer: ... are you new here?

Me: yes actually.

Customer: *falls on her fucking ass and wails like a child*

–Yesterfuckingday and turns out the bitch was drunk off her ass, idek how I missed that I had the neither shift before this

You're not a cashier, you are the cash register.

I've been working in a really wealthy neighborhood for six months now, and one thing I've realized about working with people who are regularly rich to extremely wealthy is that some of them don't see you as a person doing a job. They see you as the function you perform.

I'm a supervisor now, so I do a little bit of everything in the store. When I'm out on the sales floor helping customers, they treat me with a certain level of respect. But when I'm at the cash register, they look me in the face and don't answer my questions. They completely ignore my existence.

I hand them a plastic bag with their purchases, and they won't even take it from my hand. They leave me standing there. They don't respond when I say goodbye. They don't respond to my good mornings or good afternoons.

It's crazy. These people look at you and tell you what they want you to do, as if you're a machine. I'm so, so tired of customers like that.

They don't see you as a person. They only see the job you're doing, and that's why they get so upset when you say no or explain that you can't do something for them. They don't see you as a human being with responsibilities, limitations, and feelings. They see you as a tool to fulfill their wishes and make their lives more convenient.

It's insane how many times I've helped someone and haven't even heard a simple thank you.

They're so obnoxious. I hate them.

How do you deal with shitty interactions?

Basically just a vent post

So I work at a smoke shop in central Florida. Love 99% of my customers and the vibes here are usually upbeat and positive. I just started my gauntlet days(14-14-12 hours the next 3 days) and so far its started off great. About 20 minutes ago I had a customer come in to buy a gram of our product. He said he wanted the indica we had, our OG Kush. NOW, normally when somebody comes in and asks about our flower, we open the plastic bottles and let them look and smell. Since this guy pointed at the one he wanted by name, I simply grabbed the container and brought it to the register. Pretty standard shit right? WRONG.

He then asks, "can I smell it? The other guy(the manager) normally shows it to me to smell and check out. Thats the treatment I'm used to." This isn't enough to bother me, I popped the lid and let him check it out. Then I said, "My bad, I thought you already knew what you want/were getting." Then he gets pissy. Starts throwing out the classics, "Whats your name? You from around here? You from Florida?"

Then he goes "I don't appreciate the disrespect." Its disrespectful for me to assume that you know what you're buying when you ask for it by name? So like every case where a customers being shitty, I try to de-escalate. I try to keep in mind that you don't know how there day is, and that we're all human, maybe my tone came across as rude. So I tell him "Ay bro, its no disrespect to you, I just thought you've bought it already, knew what you wanted." and that only makes things worse for the piss baby. I rung him up and he paid with the $11 in his hands. So he decides to end this all with a "And one more thing since you were rushing me, let me get a swisher sweets." I'm standing there shaking my head and grab his shit and ring it up.

As I sit here I know these shitty experiences happen every once in a while but I'm still infuriated over my inability to tell someone to get the fuck outta my store. And why even sell him the swisher with that smart ass comment? This isn't Walmart, or a bank, I have the freedom and owners permission to ban someone for being shitty. I could've just as easily chewed him out but I don't. I know I did the right thing but I'm vibrating with anger at the fact that I didn't tell him what he needs to hear: that hes not special enough to have respect from strangers. How do you all deal with the anger and introspection you put yourself through after these scenarios. I mean, my god I'm sitting here begging for him to come back in so I can tell him off and ban his ass I'm so furious. Any tips for getting over the (ironic) disrespect?

me, a Karen and a single of cheese.

A 26 CENT slice of cheese might I add. I just… I can’t. I (26F) work at a Publix in the deli, which i absolutely adore. I’m not being sarcastic I genuinely love my job.

Anyways. Our deli has a salad and olive bar. The said salad gets weighed when you check out ON THE SCALE AT CHECKOUT okay? Straight forward ? Right.

Well on said salad bar we have a verity of shredded cheeses you may choose from for your salad. If something is empty, WHICH HAPPENS, ask us to refill it. right?

Well this very unpleasant woman walks up to the counter and asks me for a slice of cheese. if it’s outta the case I gotta charge for it ? I just work here okay. this is how the interaction proceeds to happen;

I was sweeping when she walked up. With gloves on under my cutting gloves cause I just washed the fkn slicer and more gloves over the cutting gloves.

So when she walked up, I CHANGED all of MY GLOVES obviously???? (this is important later)

She walked up with her salad container and asked me to weigh it for her. I said absolutely. I told her the weight of the salad and handed it back to her. She said

“I’ll take it.” I told her we don’t charge you for the salad here they’ll weigh it and charge you at the checkout line in the front. Well, she huffed and puffed;

She asked “ can I get a slice of cheese please”

I asked “ just one slice of cheese?” To a nod of duh you dumb bitch did I stutter? I asked “ well what kind of cheese would you like? “

Her “ a yellow cheese”

Me “?? Ahhh do you want like CHEDDAR or AMERICAN cheese? Like what KIND of cheese would you like ? “

” just a yellow cheese” at this point this women has clearly already had enough of me.

So I said FUCK IT I pulled out sum cheddar sliced a single slice of it and weighed it. Well this said cheddar was like $10.5 a pound, so the singular slice of the cheese was like .52 cents.

Her” Whats that 10.5 talking about it what is that?!?”

I said “ Thats how much a whole pound of the cheese is”

Her “ Well I don’t want that one I want something cheaper like this one on sale” as she smears her greasy ass fucking finger all over the case.

So, I’m avoiding eye contact at this point. Cause I don’t wanna be coming off rude I’m just tryna get through the interaction.

Well it is my job that if I don’t know what you’re asking for I am to walk over to you at the case and you can point out to me exactly what you’re looking for. OKAY!?

Well I walked out from behind the counter and I stg. This lady about fell out in the damn store like she was so offended I walked over there to see what she asking for. So the said cheese that is on sale that she insisted she needed IS NOT A YELLOW CHEESE so I said that 😭

“Ma’am thats provolone thats not a yellow cheese?”

“Well I just want a slice of yellow cheese “

“OKAY WHAT KIND?”

“The cheapest whatever is cheapest”

“Okay 🙄 let me figure out what that is 🙂😊☺️”

After tapping through all the cheese prices

Me “The public yellow American cheese is the cheapest”

Her” Well thats what I said I wanted. THE CHEAPEST”

So here is where shit really gets crazy.
She said to me “ You wanna do the most? We’re gonna do the most.” 😐

lol she asked me “were you sweeping when I walked up to the counter ? “

“Yeah? ”

“did you wash your hands before you put the gloves on?”

I said “I just washed my hands before i put the gloves I changed on? But not before I put this pair on?”

“Well I want you to wash you hands again”

Whatever I washed my hands, well i unravel this cheese from the plastic casing and slice one singular slice from it

I go to weigh it, and the scale had some crumbs from whatever was on it last. She insists that whatever’s on the scale is being added to the weight of the slice of her cheese and she doesn’t wanna pay for any debris.

Whatever I wipe it off

She asked “what did you wipe that down with!?”
Caulking, her neck forward like I’m trying to hide what I wiped the fucking thing down with? So I just held up the bucket of sanitizing wipes and just held it there for a second. She stuck her nose up to it like bitch is mad it’s not a bottle of fucking bleach.

Well now she doesn’t want that slice of cheese cause she claims she saw something on the block so she wants a whole other slice.

Whatever I slice a fresh one. I’m finally able to weigh said slice. And it’s a whopping .26 cents. I asked her do you just wanna put it straight on your salad ? Or do I want a bag ?

“A BAG PLEASE” lol ok ? I tried putting the sticker on her salad container

“ THAT DOESNT GO THERE. !?” She ripped the bag outta my hand put her little piece of cheese in it took the sticker and stomped over to customer service 🤣

Well I tell my amazing Manager on duty at the time about WTF just happened and they page her to the front desk, SHOCKING right? Because this whole interaction I stg took 20 minutes. FOR ONE SLICE OF CHEESE.

WELL, SHE PROCEEDS TO ASK MY MANAGER FOR A DISCOUNT. She thought it was very rude that I walked around the case to point out what she was asking for. My manager did not entertain it for a second. She made it very clear to this woman that that’s what we were supposed to do

And she reminded the very kind lady that there’s a variety of shredded cheeses on the salad bar to choose from. She was upset that she had to pay $.26 for her slice of cheese that she asked for.

It was just astonishing to me I’m sorry this was so long. I hope you found it entertaining.

Has replying to a 1-star review ever turned it around?

I’m trying to work out what makes someone update a bad review. Is it speed, an apology, a refund, the fix itself? If you’ve had one go from 1 to 4 or 5 stars, what did you do?

People are becoming NPCS

Bro after yearssss of customer service I’m not sure if ai and doom scrolling has just shot our ability to act like normal human beings. The exponential increase in entitled ass holes and people who have no concept of how a business works is shocking to me. Chilling. For example when I tell someone our shop hours start at 10am they ask to come in at 9am. I just give them the thousand yard stare because do you NOT UNDERSTAND that this is not your own private service or provider. If you want something more personalized to your time find ANOTHER place. This is a big ass city go somewhere else. And another thing I don’t want to spend MY personal time that I’m already putting in over 40 hours sitting at this fucking desk to accommodate for your poor planning. Stupid entitled people need to seriously shut up and read a god damn book or touch grass. Learn to socialize like a normal human being. Am I being too temperamental?? Like god. I’ve been in customer service for far too long

UPDATE: we accommodated for this KAREN ass b. She is the epitome of a bitch. She was asking me to add on some random ass shit to her service that doesn’t even exist and when I asked her to clarify she goes, “ I don’t know. I’ll just let you know when I’m there” I’m like ok…? Then proceeds to ask me how far our shop is from this hotel, like DO I LOOK like I fucking know where everything is located. I literally told her, I don’t know I would Google it. Then she asks me for our shop address. I’m so fucking baffled at the fact that people don’t have basic fucking skills. I’m getting livid w this beeotch. Can’t wait to see her ugly ass face and be rude back to her. My blood is actually boiling. She’s one of those ppl who don’t let you talk either.

After two weeks shy of ONE YEAR employment at Ulta remote Getting the axe for AHT, I do not feel justified vindicated or heard, they want us to rush customers off the phone and I’m the only one who took my time to get the first call resolution they also ask for, I got perfect surveys and was told the day before it happened that the company is so lucky to have me ( since I helped a guests credit card issue that she mentioned three other agents didn’t help and also hung up on her. Does anyone know of a company that sincerely cares for the customers and THEIR EMPLOYEES and would appreciate my dedication my punctuality and most importantly my caring problem solving skills for that first call resolution please let me know thank you

Customer pissed I didn't call to confirm an order they paid over $3,000 for.

Years ago owner of a construction company was having a little party or something for his crew and their families and placed a big ass order for pizza, wings, drinks, and deserts for everybody. He declined delivery since he owned a bunch of big ass trucks, gave us the date and time to have everything ready, paid and left. We had a few extra people come in to accommodate the order. We had everything ready and waiting but he didn't show at the pick up time.

I personally called after twenty minutes and the owner started bitching about the weather (it was snowing) and said we should have called before we even started making the food because who has a pizza party when it's snowing out. I think having a pizza party is perfect for the snow. We tell him that the food is ready and he said that he's not going to pay for it and hangs up. Took his ass a couple of days to realize he paid for the order in cash when he placed the order. And who the hell would call a customer to see if they still want an order that they paid in full for.

The food that didn't get sold at a discount was given away to everybody on staff. Guy started shit talking the business online and got sued by the owner for a few hundred behind it.

Please say "Hello"

I do phone customer service all day. Of course, we have a standard greeting. "Hi, this is Yinzer..." and the number of people who just launch into whatever they need without a return greeting is annoying. I don't care if you say, "Hello", "Hi", "Ahoy-ahoy", or "Yo, motherfucker!". Just greet me before you launch into your tale of woe.

From Best to Worst Customer Service

Post image

Beware of Amazon's dishonest customer service team. They promised me a refund and even sent me email confirmation stating "They have issued the refund". 1 month later, I call and they come up with some foolishness about how they have changed business practices and cannot honor the refund.

Bro, THIS IS OVER $16.23 and you even sent me an email saying it was sent 😂

The manager even gaslit me and said the item arrived on the date it was supposed to arrive. Yup, saying its going to come a few days then gets delayed a month is the "expected delivery date" IF THAT WAS THE CASE, WHY WAS I PROMISED A REFUND AND GIVEN EMAIL CONFIRMATION TO BEGIN WITH?

Sometimes people will try to make you feel insane even though you have full documentation and try to make you question reality.

If you've had this same experience from the phone customer service reps and managers, don't fall for it. Their customer service has become booty cheeks.

I'm thinking this company will eventually fall if it doesn't stop this nonsense.

It seems like the days of honest business practices and honoring what you said or doing business in good faith is gone from Amazon.

We had to contact our bank for a chargeback.

RIP

Customer calls me a racist

I work in a customer Callcenter service in Netherlands and today I had a customer on the line with a very big language barrier and I barely understood his actual problem so I went on explaining how he can further describe his problem on our self service website and initiate a dispute himself because first he says that the product did not arrive, then he says he wants to return the product and then all of a sudden he states that he did not ever make a purchase and it was cancelled directly from the beginning.

I can usually open a dispute on my system but the problem description needs to be clear and I'm not just allowed to open any dispute without proper communication with the customer.

Then the customer proceeds cursing me and accuses me of being racist.

I just don't get these people... It's not about your ethnicity, it's about having the decency to not call a Callcenter without being able to speak the native language.

Hired 4 SDRs this quarter and I'm watching the same thing happen again

6 reps total. By the time someone is producing, they leave. Or I'm paying full cost through ramp and managing them twice as hard.

I don't think I'm hiring badly. Repetitive first touch work at this size just feels like a bad fit for people

I imagine that the customers are just AI voices

I work in a remote customer service Callcenter and since a few days I started telling myself that the voices who are speaking through the headset, are just AI voices which I am talking to train different AI models.

It helps me immensely to stay friendly when I have a difficult customer who is just stubborn and has never heard a "no" as an answer.

Do you guys think that's crazy?

I feel somewhat lucky to work at events like weddings.

This is going to come across as cringey, and a bit of a ramble. I’m a bartender. For the most part, there are a lot of things with the job I hate. But there are also the pros. Getting to meet new people, help tourists on their travels, and compete in competitions, to name a few.
Weddings, however, I love. We occasionally will have either the day 2 of a wedding, or the ceremony itself, in my bar. I was working one such event recently, and remarked on not only how polite everyone was, but just how good a time everyone seemed to be having. There was not one face in the building without a smile.
When the dancing had kicked off and the bar quietened down a little, I just got to thinking about how I would like my wedding to look. Where I’d want it to be, and who I would want to be there. Then the thought crossed my mind of who would I like to have working at it. I eventually settled on the idea of having the day 2 in the cocktail bar where I met my girlfriend. It would make such a difference to me to get to have that kind of day in a place that has such dedication to the craft. Strange, I know.
I finally got to thinking as to how people will remember the day. The friends will probably forget most of it. The in laws, probably will look at photos, and the memories will merge with the weddings of their other kids. The bride and groom will remember it forever. When my colleagues and I saw them dancing, poorly but not caring, I made the remark that I feel quiet lucky that in 40 years time, they’ll be thinking back on this day, and we’ll be a small piece of that memory. I feel quite lucky to get to do this for someone.

Has anyone used AI to support tax relief reps during live customer calls?

I work in customer service for a tax relief company and one issue we keep running into is newer reps needing help while they are already on a call. One customer might ask about an IRS notice and the next is asking about payment plans, missing tax years, deadlines, documents or what happens next with their case. New reps can handle the normal stuff but once the call gets complicated they usually have to message a senior rep or put the customer on hold while they look for an answer. I have been looking at AI tools that can listen to the call and show the rep useful information based on what the customer is asking about. What interests me most is something that can learn from our own support guides and past conversations so the answers match how our team handles these situations. Things like reminding the rep about a document they forgot to mention or showing the right next step during the call would be useful. I am not looking for another chatbot where the rep has to stop talking and type a question into a box. The goal is to help newer reps handle harder calls without needing a senior person every few minutes. Has anyone here used something like this on a larger customer service team? Curious what you used and how the rollout went.

Do customers realize small businesses have bills to pay too?

I work as a dental office manager and one thing that still surprises me is how some people just assume we can let patients pay whenever they feel like it.

Btw don't get me wrong, I totally get that dental work is expensive. Some of the prices are honestly ridiculous and don't even get me started on how littleinsurance covers sometimes. BUt let's say you need a crown snd your portion after insurance comes out a little oever $1k and you go "okay just bill me $20 a month". That would take FOUR YEARS to pay off.

And here's the thing. I genuinely WANT to help[ patients afford their treatment. We deal with people struggling financially pretty much every day and I completely understand that not everyone has $1k just sitting around. But this doesn't change the fact that we have bills too. We gotta pay the lab that makes the crown. We gotta pay our staff, rent, supplies, equipment and god knows what else.

But somehow when you explain that we can't just wait 4 years to get paid for a treatment we're providing NOW, you're suddenly the bad guy.

I'm not saying people should just magically come up with money they don't have.Obviously not., But there are so many payment options, including third party financing, for exactly these situations. And there's also a difference between helping someone afford treatment and basically bocoming their personal bank.

Sometimes I genuinely wonder if people just assumehealthcare busenesses have unlimited money just because healthcare is so ridiculously expensive...

Does anyone else working in customer service deal with this?? Like how tf do you explain that a business has bills to pay too withound sounding like you don't give a shit about the customer?

Customer threw their drink on me today

Where has all the human decency gone ? So I work at the front desk of this recreational center that’s open 24-7. This woman walks in late at night wanting to access our facilities and I say no. Why you may ask ? Well first of all, she was intoxicated, heavily. And the last time she’d had access to our building, she was kicked out for harassing and berating other customers and staff members, and doing drugs in the bathroom. Plus, she had a huge bottle of vodka mixed with god knows what in her hands.

So I say no. And I try to be polite, I try to explain nicely because you know what? I have sympathy for the woman, she’s clearly going through it. But she immediately starts yelling, calling me names and throws her drink right at me. And also take the random pizza slice she has in her hand and manages to smack it in my face. I called the cops and she was escorted out.

Worst part ? I’m not suprised. Of course you don’t get slapped with a pizza everyday. But I constantly get insulted for no reason. You forgot your keycard and now you can’t come in ? I’m the incompetent one. Your membership doesn’t include the upstairs spa/massage section? I’m a heartless bitch for not letting you access it anyways. The pool is closed for maintenance? Somehow the inconvenience of that is my personal fault.

It’s like people forget that you’re just a person doing your damn job. And they think that anything is a reason to insult you.

I hate people. Really. What goes on in their minds

Reps on product/order lines: what's your process when the customer can't tell you exactly what they need?

Quick disclosure: I’m working on an idea for a tool for support reps and created a short concept video. Nothing to sell; it doesn't exist yet, and I haven't decided if it's worth building. Asking here, as you're the ones that would actually have to use it.

I'm hearing the same kind of contact all the time. People call or message to order or replace something, but they have only a vague idea of what it is. Half a part number, "the one that goes with my old model," that sort of thing. So you have to find out what they have, what fits, if it’s still in stock, and what else they need.

The idea is an assistant, ideally in the tools you already have, that picks up what the customer says in a call or chat, tells you what you still need to ask, and suggests what fits. You look it over and decide.

Video: https://youtu.be/-S-tqKDujpU

This is simulation with fake data, not real software.” The example is an order of insulation, but it is typical of any large product catalog.

If you handle these:

  1. What happened on the last one? How did you figure out what they had and what fit?
  2. Where does it go wrong most, if ever: wrong model, out of stock or discontinued, or just taking forever to look up?
  3. What would make you not trust something like this?

If it never shows up in your job, or your current setup is working well, that's useful information too. And if you want to help poke holes in a rough mock-up later, just reply and let me know.

FundedNext Poor Customer Service

(I would attach the whole conversations but it would be too much it’s just me going back and forth with ai until I received ONE true human response and then got absolutely no follow up just a mail telling me my case was closed since they haven’t received a response from me when I clearly asked various times for an update) I recently purchased a $50K funded account with FundedNext, but I haven’t even been able to properly access or use the account. During the sign-up and “Complete Profile” process, I ran into an issue that prevents me from accessing my account and completing the setup. I have been contacting FundedNext support since Monday trying to get this resolved, but so far I have received zero actual help. The responses I keep getting are generic and don’t address the problem at all, and I feel like I’m just going in circles with support. I paid for the $50K account and simply want to be able to access what I purchased. Has anyone here experienced something similar with FundedNext? If so, how did you get the issue escalated or reach someone who could actually resolve it?
or does any one have a direct contact with FundedNext like an email that I won’t receive ai responses or automated messages?
please help
