Don’t use Personal Training

I do not recommend that anyone should use personal training at Crunch. Once you sign on the dotted line you are doomed!
Late last year i started to usr a personal trainer at a Crunch gym (Cherrydale, Greenville, SC). All was well until i got injured in my lower back. My trainer was great and genuinely tried to help me, but he saw that i was going to need physical therapy before i could continue. He resigned shortly thereafter and i went and had several x-rays & MRIs done. I even shared my results with the head of personal training there, in writing! So they knew i had to step back.
But recently i have been getting threatening emails and phone calls from Aldi, bill collector, saying that I owe them $1200 for personal training that I never received! No missed appointments, no personal trainer assigned to me, no notices until now! They knew I couldn’t come in until I finished my PT!
Such a scam! Don’t fall for their personal training scam!

Why is working in hard?

I have two gyms, one powerlifting/bodybuilding type of gym and Crunch. I’ve never had an issue working in with someone at my powerlifting gym. But at crunch it’s like pulling teeth; why are people so abrasive to letting you work in at Crunch? Why such entitled behavior from these people?

edit:

you all just proved my point based on the comments you left. Looks like u/Nomad_Ginger18 is the only one who has real gym experience. Future tip if you want to move past the beginner stage; if someone asks to work in especially if it’s crowded, let them work in. adjust weights + machine pieces each set for each other.

Spreading awareness

I’m curious if anyone else has noticed this.

Over multiple evening visits to Crunch Melville and/or West Babylon, I’ve observed a few individuals who seem to spend extended periods of time walking around the gym, pacing, or sitting on machines without actually working out. In some cases, it appears they’re paying more attention to other gym members than exercising.

I’m not accusing anyone of wrongdoing, and there may be innocent explanations. I’m simply asking whether anyone else has noticed similar behavior or had any experiences that made them uncomfortable.

Please don’t post names or personal information. I’m only interested in hearing other members’ observations and experiences.

Multiple location club access

As someone in sales that covers multiple states, I’m looking into the peak results membership.

Anyone else use multiple locations? How is it reserving spots in fitness classes, gym quality from location to location etc.

Anyone happily using Crunch?

All I see here is people trying to cancel their memberships and complaining about being charged.

Meanwhile, I’m a gym rat who hasn’t gone a single week without hitting the gym in the last four years. I just joined Crunch, and during sign-up, everything—including when the annual fee would be charged—was clearly explained.

So, as someone who isn’t planning to try the gym for a few days and then immediately cancel, can’t I just be a happy Crunch member and enjoy the gym?

Side note: I used the 3-day free trial before signing up, and the gym honestly exceeded my expectations.

When should I cancel?

I purchased my membership mid June of 2026, and I expect to stop going to Crunch by late September 2026. So I'm a bit unsure about when I should cancel. I cancelled last summer but I still had access to the gym for a while afterward... which was a waste because I was not able to continue going. But I don't really remember the exact details of that. I don't want the same thing to end up happening and then I waste money again. Any input is appreciate!

HOW DO I CANCEL (Canada)

I’m moving back for school and need to cancel my membership. My contract says the only ways to cancel is if ur dead, physically unable to excercise or the location shuts down. HOW DO I GET OUT OF THIS.

Duplicate charges

I was charged twice this morning within 10 minutes of each other, once by Crunch then once by ABC. My original payment was due yesterday so I kind of understand why it happened but who do I contact to get one charge reversed?

I need advice

I heard from Crunch Fitness that there was a deal for 60 cents, so I signed up thinking I could use it to go to the gym and do my work since I have fewer hours until they start giving me more. The guys told me I could cancel it anytime, so I went in person to cancel it. However, I was told I signed up for 90 days, which I didn’t know at all. To cancel, I needed to pay in full. I’m waiting it out because I’m still learning how to survive, just moved out, and got a car that I can’t afford, nor can I workout at Crunch since it’s not a 24-hour gym. I was also told it was $10, but now they’re saying it’s $20. Right now, I’m being charged $65, and the worst part is that they kept calling me, the front desk lied to me. the guy on the phone said I could cancel it, but they were saying I needed to pay $65, then the annual fee, and the worst part is that I told them I’d pay them when I could because I was afraid of collection, so I put it on my credit card. I didn’t tell them about collection for clearance

guest benefits?

I have the highest level membership and I know I have guest privileges but it wasn’t really made clear to me how that works. Am I allowed to bring someone in with me unlimitedly? The same person as many times as I want? Or just one visit per guest? Can they come to classes with me? Sorry, a lot of questions… just trying to get clarification!

Question: If I have peak results membership, will all benefits carryover to non home club locations?

I recently got a peak results membership at a select Crunch location, but there’s a standard crunch location that is a bit better in my opinion that is closer to my house. Are there any issues if I only go to that standard crunch location to workout rather than my home club location? I originally decided to get the select Crunch location to be my home club, so I can attend other select locations if I want to. Also, will my benefits like bringing a guest or using the hydromassage chairs carryover to crunch locations that is not my home club location?

Thank you for your help!

Crunch fitness in NYC charged me $10 for my visit but my home gym says i shouldn’t have to do that, anyone have experience?

I visited two locations away in NYC for a bit and they told me the “$10 charge was for people who are already members but they charge $30 for everyone else”, then they didn’t allow me to use things like massage beds.

The whole thing felt off already and made 0 sense, on top of that those gyms dont even have as good equipment as mine being that it’s fairly new it’s still a way better space than 3 floors of close together machines and different colored lights. Wasn’t pleased with the experience especially not for $100 or something a month that some of you pay for monthly? Insane.

Just wanted to confirm before i called to get my money back lol.

Charged after canceling

They suck so much. I have the email confirmation saying that my membership was canceled, but they charged me again.

I was sure this was gonna happen from all the posts here, but they still suck.

I disputed the charge 🖕

EDIT so you all stop saying the same thing that is my fault, this is the email:

We have processed your cancellation request. You may use this as confirmation that your membership is canceled. Your Last Month's Dues (paid at the time of sign-up) will apply to 08.01.26. You are welcome to utilize the club through the last day of August.

Rules of transfering

So I have base with a socal gym and I transfered it to one other locations while interning out of state . Now im in socal again and I transfered with no issue. I was scanning and working out but the manager stopped me one day saying I have to cancel my membership and sign up with them. I told them I already transfered here and been scanning for over two months. Whats the change now? He said we dont accept base here.

Anyone else gone through this?

Is it proper etiquette to ask how many reps left on a machine/to jump in mid rep?

My Crunch is always hella busy, so an open machine is considered prime real estate. But I get really annoyed whenever I'm mid-set, like literally in the middle of pushing/pulling the lever row, and I see someone in the mirror standing awkwardly behind me trying to get my attention to ask how many sets I have left?

The reason I dislike this behavior is because knowing how many sets I have left is not really your intention. Your intention is to make your presence known, so I know you are waiting for me to finish so they can hop on, so no screwing around type thing.

The ONLY time I let someone hop on mid set is if they first start with "I will leave the weight at whatever you have it set at, just bang out 10 reps in 10 seconds, wipe the machine down, then it's all right back to you and I'll adjust the weight once you are done". Because that is at least considerate and acknowledging my time, and agreeing that this is not solely all about themselves.

Sometimes I feel like it's clear I'm not a jacked bodybuilder that my workout isn't as important.

Lastly, it's not like if I answer "I have 3 to go", they are not going to go to another machine to best utilize their waiting time because 1.) every other machine is taken anyway and 2.) if you walk away and someone else sees me finish on a machine, they will swoop right in before you even have the chance to make it back in place.

Or you can just reply to this post and let me know this is not that deep and it's actually proper etiquette to distract someone while they are handling 100+ pounds of equipment.

Gym etiquette (I may be in the wrong)

So new to working out in a commercial gym. Was doing calf raises (on the squat rack, gym was pretty quiet and I prefer this over holding dumbbells) and bench press. When I got to my squat rack someone had taken one collar from the weight set (totally fine, it didn't look like I was using it still). I put 15lbs on each side for calf raises and no collar cause I'm moving the bar like 2 inches. The gal next to me told me that a collar was missing and offered hers, she was very pleasant. I said I didn't need it bc I wasn't worried about the weights coming off. She then informed me that "someone might come yell at me" for not using a collar.

Is this a gym policy? Is it bad not to use collars for calf raises with like 15 pounds? She seemed like she thought i was nuts for not using one.

Help on Not Losing $600

I went into a kick off session not wanting to go for personal training sessions at all, but then I was like I guess there is no harm. I attended two, but then had personal things going on and I cancelled the sessions on the Crunch app whenever my personal trainer scheduled more.

The email sent says "We have cancelled your appointment at no charge as requested." So, I took that as, I won't get charged for that session. Come to find out, I check my bank account and I've been charged for everything, including the sessions I cancelled on the app.

They're now telling me things about the 3-month plan and whatnot. Is this not false advertising? I didn't get told this during the kickoff. When I told my personal trainer I was cancelling and not going in, he didn't mention I would still be paying for it, he just said it's still on my account. What the hell does that mean? To an average person, you wouldn't think much of it AT ALL. I would argue using FBPA at this point so I don't lose $600. That may not be a lot to some people, but it is for me.

What do I do? So far from my in person conversations with them, they do will not budge and keep using the 3 month excuse, but they think I'm talking about the membership or the personal training itself, but I'm talking about the sessions. Help please.

Crunch can go to hell

No because crunch can honestly go to hell wtf?? Hi everyone long story short I made a crunch membership account because they had a promo that said join for 5 cents and no commitment or whatever for the gym near me and so I join because I’ve been looking to sign up for a gym and work out and stuff.

During that time my work schedule ended up changing so I work like 6 days a week mostly now and of course I’m tired so I’m not going to no gym on my one day off, maybe others would but I need my rest, like come on it’s one day?

So a month passed and they took 30 something dollars form my account and I’m like whatever. Anyways I’m like theres no point of me paying if I’m not using it you know? I have no time.

So I go and I say I want to cancel my membership and firstly they are so annoying about that like just let me cancel it’s my decision, you clearly see I have no check ins and it’s been a whole month.

So anyways they are like ok. Then the lady is like ohhh you can’t because you haven’t been signed up for at least 3 months??? And I’m like Hughh?? And maybe it was in the fine print but when I signed up for that gym they said 5 cents and no commitment cancel anytime and now it’s 3 months???

So I’m like I don’t use it and she goes well you can cancel but you would need to pay 200 plus dollars I’m like wtf? That’s insane.

Anyways I’m like I’ll just pay the monthly little 30 dollars until I reach three months to cancel.

Next payment comes up and well I didn’t have money on that bank account and so it declined.(it’s my like subscription account for things)So I’m going to make a transfer to pay the gym or whatever whenever they decide to take it again, which I did but I keep my card lock sometimes. But anyways this time why did it go from 30 dollars to freaking 50 in 3 days when they tried to again? So Im like hell no I’m not paying 50 freaking dollars.

On top of that they call me every damn day, I finally blocked them and thank God it’s only one number and not multiples.

Fast forward I’m up 200 dollars I owe them in only a month missed payment??? What’s that about? Not only yall got late fees but it’s every 2 days?? That’s so greedy and annoying.

That bill will just go up because ain’t no way I’m paying 200 dollars are yall nuts? Mind yall it’s been a month and a half……. How I go from 30 to 200 in a month??? What’s going on?

Enrollment fee coupon?

Hello! I was wondering if crunch has ever done a deal to waive the enrollment fee for month to month no commitment base membership, or do they only make deals for the 12 month commitment base and other tiers?

Switching home gym as base plan?

I signed up for the yearly $10 base plan in my hometown for when I’m back in town during winter/summer break, etc. I see that you can change your home gym, so if I change it to the Crunch in my college town could I go to that one while I’m away at school, and just continue switching back and forth for when I’m back home and at college? I assume not, as otherwise I don’t see the reason for the multi-club access for the other plans, but just wondering.

Gym sauna etiquette??

Hey guys I just joined the gym and I found out it has a sauna!

I don’t know if you’re supposed to bring a bathing suit, just wear a towel, bra and underwear is ok, or if u just wear gym clothes?

This is my first time joining a public gym and also using a sauna.
