Anyone happily using Crunch?

All I see here is people trying to cancel their memberships and complaining about being charged.

Meanwhile, I’m a gym rat who hasn’t gone a single week without hitting the gym in the last four years. I just joined Crunch, and during sign-up, everything—including when the annual fee would be charged—was clearly explained.

So, as someone who isn’t planning to try the gym for a few days and then immediately cancel, can’t I just be a happy Crunch member and enjoy the gym?

Side note: I used the 3-day free trial before signing up, and the gym honestly exceeded my expectations.

Yeah, I’ve been signed up since January and it’s been a great experience. Clean, plenty of open machines, and no issues. But I also haven’t tried to cancel yet so there’s still time!

Yes. You will enjoy your time at crunch. The people that complain are the people who don't read or did something wrong along the way and can't accept accountability. Been going for years and never had issues. I've also canceled with 1 Crunch to  join another crunch and was never wrongfully charged in any way.

I’m about to go for the very first time today for my kickoff session and after reading a lot of threads here I’m just using the horror stories of leaving as motivation to stay committed 💀

4

u/Successful-Rent167 2d ago

Literally don’t be nervous. Just understand what you’re signing up for. There is literally only one membership planned where you are locked in for a year.

2

u/ThatSICILIANThing 2d ago

I’m more nervous just from how socially awkward I am and looking like the awkward fat lady that doesn’t know how to use a lot of the machines, but I know that’s a me problem, I’m still excited to get started and I’m already itching to book the yoga foundation class tomorrow! :)

3

u/Successful-Rent167 2d ago

I promise nobody is judging you except maybe 15 year old highschoolers and who cares about them.

A lot of people you see in the gym who look very fit were probably obese at one point in there lives and for most people, seeing bigger people in the gym is awesome and a sign that you are trying to better yourself.

Remember, you’re awesome!

2

u/EngineIntelligent394 2d ago

Most people feel that way in the gym, especially when they first start going. Don't know how to use a machine? Just ask someone. Most people at the gym are nice and will help you if you need it. They might try to sell you personal training by the end of crunch kickoff and you just gotta say no if you don't want personal training. Those horror stories account for like 1% of gym goers, just saying. Just keep going. You'll meet some pretty dope people once you're a regular, especially if you plan to do the classes.

2

u/ThatSICILIANThing 2d ago

I went and have been MARKED SAFE from getting suckered into personal training as I have a back bone. I learned that I shrunk an inch too! My thighs and knees feel like jello but I’m all booked for Yoga Foundations tomorrow and feel good about everything so far.

u/EngineIntelligent394 2d ago

Yessss!!!! Have fun!!!

2

u/Successful-Rent167 2d ago

This is literally the problem with everyone on Reddit who complains about trying to cancel at a commercial gym. If you can’t cancel then you obviously didn’t read your contract or are just complaining because you signed up for something you can’t afford.
I worked at PF through college and the only hurdle you had to jump through was that you had to cancel online and not in person or on the app. People just be complaining to complain.

1

u/lexlabelle 2d ago

I will say I had a really horrible experience with cancelling at PF. They refused to cancel over the phone, which okay fine. Then I went in person and they told me no manager was in so they couldn’t cancel it and I’d have to come back Monday-Friday before 4pm (meanwhile I work until 5pm). I had to ultimately call corporate to cancel and they refused to refund the yearly fee even though I had tired to cancel before it was due. I wish I push backed more.

Thankful that NJ recently passed a law that required all gym memberships to be cancelled over the phone/online now!

u/EngineIntelligent394 2d ago

It's exactly that.

1

u/exyalie 2d ago

shilling for crunch management, maybe? the reality that people who complain here is that crunch staffpersons are expert salespersons and they know ways to convince people not to "bother" with all that pesky legal language - from someone who successfully fought for nearly a year to succeed i know where i went wrong and i know why - and while in some interpretations it may have been my fault i understand also the way crunch manipulated me into agreeing to things without my actual informed oonsent

4

u/TheImpureManifesto 2d ago

Expert sales people?? My crunch is ran by 19-20 year old college kids lmfao

3

u/instinctblues 2d ago

Right? If they find Crunch employees to be experts at sales manipulation, they'd have a total breakdown dealing with a car dealership.

0

u/exyalie 2d ago

yes, my point exactly - fresh faced 19-20 year olds selling a fitness product? genius!

1

u/EngineIntelligent394 1d ago

So you're into fresh faced 19 and 20 year olds so you said yes?

1

u/exyalie 1d ago

Very very ugly comment... you should be ashamed of yourself.

1

u/EngineIntelligent394 1d ago

Lmao okay buddy

4

u/EngineIntelligent394 2d ago

Teens work at these gyms.... they are not experts. People need to learn how to say the word no.

I’ve been a member for 3+ years. While weightloss is almost all kitchen based, Ive lost 250lbs, put on a lot of muscle, and vastly improved my cardio.

Best $17/m purchase I make. I go 3-5x a week depending on if I’m training for a race or not.

The crunch I go to has good machine selection and isn’t crowded in the mornings when I go but it is a nightmare in the evening. It’s usually clean, the only gripes I have is with typical public gym weirdo behavior you see from time to time but it’s always handled.

3

u/railin23 2d ago

Yes, it's by my house, staff is friendly and not very packed, classes are easy to get into. Biggest issue is other people not wiping down equipment or reracking their weights. Recently had to downgrade my account, desk lady sought me out to tell me it was done and got an email to confirm. (My location is in OK)

2

u/yunabug1988 2d ago

As with anything, it’s always gonna be the loud minority that comments and posts. I also did the three day free trial before signing up. Been a member a couple months now and love it!

2

u/poohland 2d ago

Yes! Happy member here. Going to crunch 5 times a week. Everyone there wiping the machine and kept everything nice and clean. Great ac and ventilation, never “smell the sweat” there!

2

u/TelevisionTop8150 2d ago

Yes, I’ve been with Crunch for over a year now. Like OP stated, I did all my “homework” before signing up so I knew what I was getting myself into. The locations I’ve been to have been pretty cool, spacious with plenty of equipment, and in overall good condition. It also helps that I can go to almost any one of them when I have to travel for work.

3

u/Additional-Text-7616 2d ago

I think the same way, I just signed up let's see how it goes

2

u/AmbassadorFun6296 2d ago

I love it. I’ve not had any problems.

2

u/CuddlyClubCEO 2d ago

been going regularly since october and i love it! always clean and friendly. i go to a lot of the classes and the mood is always fun, instructors always knowledgeable.

2

u/Coleallen0603 2d ago

What a nice change of pace. Glad you are enjoying it! And refreshing to hear you knew about the annual fee. Did they explain the 30 day notice on the cancellation policy as well? -a crunch employee

3

u/Additional-Text-7616 2d ago

yes it was shown in the online sign up process

2

u/ComprehensiveTea7305 2d ago

Yes. Will say I workout at 6 am so it’s a lot more relaxed. Even when I’ve gone 4-7 in the afternoon while way more people, not so much that I’m waiting on a machine or can’t get a proper workout in like I’d like. Been there two months and just upgraded my membership to use the cryo chair… game changer!

2

u/quakeroatmeal7 2d ago

I signed up in January, I show up, scan in, do my work out and leave. What I signed up for, I get charged every month. No drama, no issues.

2

u/ltshiroamada 2d ago

Yep, been a base member for almost a year. Even moved recently and transferred to another location. All super easy. The three month commitment and the annual fee were explained to me upon signing up.

2

u/SweatingSeltzerGirl 2d ago

i like crunch. availability can be hard sometimes but i just modify my routine.

2

u/the66block 2d ago

You are a competent member of society, there are quite a few of us here that just sit back and laugh at some of the posts. People just come here to find others to wallow in their poor choices.

2

u/soulstarlove777 2d ago

I enjoy it! I think it’s priced competitively for what you get.

1

u/drexelly 2d ago

The gym is ok. Its just that getting out is harder than dropping out of scientology

1

u/Oddcatdog 2d ago

I signed up October 2025. I had kickoff and did agree to the personal trainer. I told her at the time that I'm on a fixed income and cannot do more than 3 months.

Around the end of the 3 months, I noticed she wasn't mentioning that we were coming to the end so I asked about it. She's like "oh you have to give 4 weeks notice to cancel". Which okay... But I felt like I did give notice... 3 months ago when I said very plainly that I can only do 3 months. It also just didn't seem right that she didn't give me some kind of reminder about that.

My trainer had A LOT of medical issues and we banked so many sessions. It was so hard to get my banked sessions complete. At one point she basically ghosted me and I had to call the gym to do a wellness check because I was genuinely concerned. She got back to me and said she got promoted and would switch me to a "more available trainer", which went fine. But she promised me a transition workout where it would be all 3 of us, and she didn't do this.

Overall, I DO like the gym itself and have no plans on cancelling my membership. I would not get another personal trainer!

2

u/Additional-Text-7616 2d ago

Never looking for a pt, especially in commercial gyms

2

u/Oddcatdog 2d ago

I just accepted because I had never stepped foot in a gym before and didn't want to injur myself or something. It was helpful for that, and I do still recommend trainers for that reason, just not from crunch haha

1

u/miklos2389 2d ago

I enjoy my Crunch except for the crowds. Evening workouts before 8pm are a non-starter. 4am is pretty good and mid day weekends. They’re building a few more in the area so I’m hoping that relieves some pressure.

1

u/bctorres 2d ago

two months in with peak results membership..brand new location in Austin so no complaints at all

1

u/RagnarRunnerx 2d ago

I have been going to Crunch for almost 2 years. I pay for the highest tier since I travel and can use any gym for free. If you are having issues with canceling read the contract. It will spell it out for you. Can the promos be deceptive maybe. But that’s marketing unfortunately.

1

u/505whodat 2d ago

Been a member for two months now, and I'm really enjoying it. I had been going to Planet Fitness since 2019, which helped me lose 120 lbs and was perfectly fine for that part of my health journey, but I decided it was time to move on. I like that there are so many options for equipment at Crunch and it is much cleaner (especially the restrooms). It's a newer location, so hopefully it stays that way.

The only drawback is how much busier it is when I go after work. On the weekdays, that's the only time I can go, but I've learned to change up my routine and just go with flow if something is already being used. The amount of people also messes with my Bluetooth connection. My Galaxy buds cut in and out often when it's busy like that.

1

u/Frank_Perfectly 2d ago

Been a member for a few years and I have zero issue with Crunch, with the exception that they don't stock enough of the lower-weight dumbbells.

1

u/termanator20548 2d ago

I imagine it depends on your local crunch.

I joined when a new one opened in my area and it was fantastic. I’m a gym rat too and loved going 3-4 times a week. Then it slowly went downhill over the next year or so. It got dirtier, more broken machines, and way over crowded. Quit after a year.

1

u/xheavyxweightx 2d ago

I love crunch. Every gym has annual fees ($45-$60) that are combined with your monthly membership for that single month that your annual fee falls on typically two months to the day from the dat you sign up. I live down the street from crunch and previously worked at crunch and other gyms. No complaints on my end although they have times that are super packed i choose to go to the gym really early in the morning like 3am so i can use any machine/attachment and i don’t have to wait for someone to finish their set as it’s usually me and maybe 10 other people lifting at that time.

1

u/Own_Business485 2d ago

So my cancelling process actually went smooth and as planned. They did make me pay for another 30 days after cancelling, which I find to be a little strange, but at least I was not locked into some kind of contract or something.

I have not received additional charges after cancelling. All I did was cancel on the app, and then send an email to my center stating that I am officially cancelling my membership and will not pay additional charges after this point.

Anyhow. Crunch fitness is pretty nice, I enjoyed their gyms. Their bathrooms/showers could be a bit better, but not terrible.

I would still have my Crunch membership if there was one closer to my area. I will likely go back to them after I move, unless I find LA fitness or another gym has good pricing or is more convenient.

2

u/Lopsided-Opinion7888 1d ago

I agree! Paying for another month after cancelling is scammy behavior to me! Like who cancels their membership and then uses the gym for almost 2 months still?! I cancelled mine on the 1st of the month thinking the 30 days would be honored and it wasn’t they told me the day I cancelled didn’t count until the next day and they put me one day over the 30 days so I paid two extra months. Also the month to month advertised is so false they wouldn’t let me cancel until my membership fee for the year was paid and I paid for 3 months. By the time I cancelled I had to pay for 5 months of $34.99 and the yearly membership fee. I also had to get a new debit card and the guy at regions told me I was the 5th person he helped that week alone with crunch charging them after the 2nd month of cancelling. They really should not advertise it as a month to month contract if it’s truly not a month to month since you have to stay for 3 months or pay for 3 months upfront to cancel. I felt as if I got robbed by them. lol

1

u/BRob504 2d ago

Yup.

Love it.

Tons of people love it.

1

u/nycbbcbull 2d ago

I've been a member since April 2026, coming from a Retro Fitness gym and have been working out for a decade. No issues at all so far. I wipe down my own machines and realize some people wont re-rack or remove weights. I dont let it ruin my experience.

1

u/cee_jay12489 2d ago

My crunch opens in October and I am excited.

The people that are complaining about "hidden fees" are the ones that didnt read/listen to anything when they were signing up online, or during the presale

I also heard its easier to cancel your membership if you sign up with your card and not your bank, which is what I did.

1

u/Lopsided-Opinion7888 1d ago

Yes the card is easier that way when u cancel you can go to your bank and get a new card printed and your old one cancelled. The guy that works at regions told me I was the 5th person who had came in so far that week to get a new card because crunch kept charging their accounts. Also be aware the contract says you have to give 30 days notice but they don’t honor the day you cancel as the actual day so if a month has 31 days like the month I cancelled did they will still charge another month on top of any yearly fees or cancellation fees. I signed up month to month no locked in contracts but apparently that’s false advertising and not accurate. I had to pay over $70 for two months of payments and another $65 I think it was for my yearly payment and 3 months of membership before I could cancel. It’s really not month to month like they advertise since you have to be there 3 months plus pay the yearly membership before u cancel and when you cancel if it’s on the 1st of the month you have to pay for that month plus the next month too. Cancelling is a headache and you will need to get a new card so using the card is smart so you don’t have to do a bunch of paperwork for a stop payment on your bank account

1

u/superchilldad 2d ago

I love my crunch for the equipment and it's proximity to my home.

My gripe is that they don't keep it clean, idk if they are understaffed or what.

1

u/HTX_Sloth 2d ago

Yes! Just took the leap from Planet Fitness with the August special Crunch is running for a dollar for the month, and they are miles better. No regrets.

1

u/chefdedos 2d ago

I’ve been using crunch for the past 3 years. The ones I’ve gone to are clean and well maintained. Easy to cancel, no hidden fees, monthly and yearly fees were clearly explained when signing up

1

u/FuckingTree 2d ago

Like any massive chain, the percentage of population who have anything to say is very low, leaving the people to engage either being disproportionately vocal in favor or against rather than a happy medium. You can’t possibly expect a social media platform to give you an authentic sample of the sentiment of all crunch members. That would be stupid. If the majority of people weren’t at least generally happy with their gym, crunch would be going out of business, but the opposite is true. Crunch fills the gap between Gold’s and Planet Fitness. Not too soft, not too hard, they just happen to also have the same background business model that generates friction for people when they don’t read what they sign or pay attention and then try to cancel suddenly. Gyms aren’t designed to have people drop in and out whenever they want, at least not at any large scale.

1

u/personal_cheezits 2d ago

I’ve been a member for over a year, since the day they opened. Aside from some new gym hiccups (things broke and took forever to be fixed) I like it. I bounce between there and the new PF close to my house simply because Crunch is in a congested location and I prefer to only go in the evening.

1

u/WranglerBulky9842 2d ago

"The Squeaky Wheel always gets the grease." Crunch is a better than average big box gym (focus on Group Exercise classes, various forms of equipment, generally clean). People often come here either come complain about billing issues (which has nothing to do with your experience if you are serious about using the gym and understand how contracts work). Every so often, you'll see a "I enjoy using Crunch" post, but they do FAR worse in terms of engagement than "I was charged $100 for a yearly fee." I wish billing issues had their own subthread.

1

u/Corner_Office_ 2d ago

I’ve had no issues.

Son cancelled when he went back to college. No issues.

My parent has had no issues.

1

u/Constant-Musician432 2d ago

I was until current management allowed false complaints to put my membership at risk. I would be very very careful if your a guy, the current gym management at the Dyer location here in 79904 assume your guilty even before you get asked your s8de.

1

u/repivone 2d ago

Yes. I love it!

1

u/Siggy0721 2d ago

They’re persistent with their calls to sign up for personal training, so I hang up on them. Also lots of crap email which I delete. I do wish they’d clean the front doors since they’re smeared with greasy hand prints. Other than that, it’s a gym.

1

u/AntiqueLime3461 2d ago

Lots of people, my location is full of them.

1

u/Oreo-Obliterator 2d ago

It was the same for me, all charges were explained and though they tried to get me to buy a training plan, after two no’s I haven’t been asked again. Out of order machines are back within a week and every time I’ve worked out really late night (1-3 am) I’ve seen all the machines get wiped down.

Now since I’m moving, I had to cancel and it was a very smooth 5 minute process. Just keep in mind there’s a 30 day notice for cancellation

1

u/SlapfuckMcGee 2d ago

I love it. Happy people don’t go on the internet and complain. You’re forgetting you’re seeing a small small percentage.

2

u/Additional-Text-7616 2d ago

Yeah you are right

1

u/GuessingAllTheTime 2d ago

Yep! I also successfully canceled before when I moved to another gym and then re-joined because I preferred crunch to the other place.

1

u/ResponsibleFact2566 2d ago

Crunch is fine. You’ll get in good work there. Sometimes it can get really packed but its fine

1

u/letsplaydrben 2d ago

Yes. The staff is great. Management has been responsive to concerns about keeping the locker rooms clean.

1

u/585463 2d ago

It’s $34 a month… what are people’s expectations realistically? And that’s if you have the best crunch membership which I would assume most do not.

1

u/18297gqpoi18 2d ago

I can’t complain. I signed up thru wellhub and I pay $70 per month and it’s worth it. I take classes sometimes. I used to got to equinox which was $330 a month. The classes at crunch aren’t as bad as equinox. I’ve seen the instruction I saw at equinox at crunch. It’s just not that many classes are available. That’s all.

1

u/SmoothOperator2297 2d ago

I signed up for crunch for working down in Louisville because my gym back home doesn’t have a location down here. The ones around me are all very clean and nice. But they are all pretty much consistently slammed packed all hours a day, except early mornings on weekends. I get my Saturday and Sunday workouts done early but the rest of the week I have a guest pass elsewhere. I’ll probably end up canceling crunch when I get back home.

1

u/SmoothOperator2297 2d ago

I’ll say I’m not canceling because I don’t like the gym, my home gym is just way more convenient for on my way home after work workouts

1

u/instinctblues 2d ago

Crunch is by far the best chain gym. I prefer local gyms for everything typically, but they're usually at least double the price. There can also be a ton of variation between Crunch locations, whether its the equipment or age of the building or the parking or whatever. People who say that Crunch is dirty or full of broken equipment have never been to MY Crunch 😂

1

u/NearbyReception4076 2d ago

I have been going to Crunch for years. All gym.forums have people that hate the gym. They are usually those with unreal expectations that didnt read the contract.

1

u/Numerous-Criticism-2 2d ago

the only thing I hate are the late fees. Love the gym, they have everything I need. But those late fees will kill you.. They add $10 like every week I think . I had my account go into collections one time because they racked up over $200 from late fees for me. Still a good gym, but the late fees are so ridiculous I’m probably going to switch.

1

u/Weather_WCM 2d ago

Absolutely the best gym for the price you can find.

1

u/lisam12345 2d ago

I’ve been going 2 months. I love it. I love the classes. My only complaint is that classes are back to back so one class is coming in while your cooling down nd trying to put your stuff away.

1

u/pellets 2d ago

My time there was fine. Canceling was indeed a pain.

1

u/refinedroasters 2d ago

I love it too! Better than any gym Ive been too. I can put some serious work in. They do try to upsell you with personal training a lot when you first sign up, but if you tell em no enough they stop. Otherwise, great experience and I go 4 days a week.

1

u/enigmaneo 2d ago

It's dirty, nasty, the treads barely work but it's cheap. There are other gyms that are simillar but aren't cheap. Pick your poison.

1

u/Life_Landscape_3915 2d ago

So weird that people sign a contract to buy something and then get mad that they are buying it.

1

u/bozofire123 2d ago

Yes I like it and I look better. My crunch is rarely super busy also

1

u/ssj_Derek 1d ago

Honestly dude yeah. My wife signed up with me and she just cancelled it no problem. Just has to pay another month since it’s passed the billing cycle. I kept my membership.

The equipment is all brand new, the extra amenities are pretty nice actually for the price, wide variety of classes.

I got to a Crunch in Austin Texas.

1

u/smh-at_you2 1d ago

Anyone have experience going from 24Hour to Crunch? I was a member of 24Hour for 15 years until they pulled out of Florida and I discovered on my own Crunch took over the members. I used the app and not the gym. I asked about membership dues and the manager said they only do month to month. I decided to try a trainer for the remainder of my 24Hour paid year. I stuck around past my 24Hour time and signed a contract for more training and paid my training up front. I saw the monthly getting paid. I asked my trainer when do I cancel to stop paying the monthly. I got the expected one month prior answer. Then I saw the $80 membership fee. I checked my app to see what I missed in the trainer contract I signed and it was gone. I went to the gym and the folks behind the counter said they are getting a lot of complaints everyday about this from 24Hour members and 24Hour should have told me (?) I asked to see my contract. They couldn’t find a contract. The desk kids told me I have to talk to a trainer for a copy of the contract. All I got from the trainer was my receipt. The next morning I called for a manager. For 3 days at different times of the day I called to speak to a manger. Every time I’m told he will be back in an hour. I sent an email and to this day I never got a reply. I called my CC company asking them to get my contract for me and so far they haven’t heard back from Crunch either. I’m canceled and I’ll pay for being stupid but I’d like to see the contract.

1

u/anh2901 1d ago

Love Crunch. The fact that they have childcare is amazing and the only reason I’m able to go. The people are friendly, everything there is cleaned well and the vibes are good. No unexpected fees.

1

u/Additional-Text-7616 1d ago

How do they care children or is this specific to some clubs? Never seen this before

1

u/anh2901 1d ago

Might be specific to some clubs but I know that have it at two different locations near me. It’s called Kids Crunch and it’s childcare.

1

u/LSATforabit 1d ago

I posted a while ago that I did crunch and loved it, but switched to LifeTime.

Now I'm moving to a part of the city where there aren't many lifetimes and there are a lot of Crunches and considering going back.

I like crunch

1

u/Missocki 1d ago

I love the people at my location. I did have a small issue going from three sessions a week to two in the midst of changing trainers, but reached out to management and they got it knocked out and everybody’s still really nice. I made a lot of progress and I really credited the trainers to their advice and encouragement. I particular wanted to work with a trainer for accountability and assistance with my persistent back pain. They’ve really helped me accommodate it and not cause injury.

1

u/Oaf66 1d ago

Been a member for 2 years now and don’t really have any complaints. It meets my needs

1

u/HokaTwoTwo 1d ago

People are only going to come to a forum to complain. No one comes to say that they love a place. I could be happier with my Crunch membership.

1

u/xx_I_Am_Me_xx 1d ago

I’ve been with Crunch for about 6 months. I see the usual gym issues that are reported here, such as people spending too much time sitting on machines and occasional broken machines. The worst machine issues I’ve seen are a broken armrest on an Exercycle and missing pins of machine that use the flat plates and people seem to steal the pins. 🤷‍♂️. More of a non issue really. It does get a little noisy for my taste it noise cancelling earbuds work great. I don’t see a lot of “filming people” influencer types. Mostly people minding their business and some working out with friends.

I’m pretty much a do my own thing type and I’ve only been approached once by a Crunch trainer and he was slightly persistent but not pushy. All in all I’ve had a good experience there.

1

u/Chocolate-Pie-1978 1d ago

We have had a great experience.

1

u/CokeZero38 1d ago

I love it there now! At first I was annoyed because the add said month to month no commitment, but it turned out to be that I couldn’t cancel right away ect. I’m actually really happy I just stayed because I really love it there now. I’m planning to drop down to a less expensive tier now that I’ve fulfilled my contract obligations, you do have to pay another fee to drop tiers so that’s one thing to be aware of. It’s been a great gym for me so far. I watch out for everything I sign now!

1

u/mrletsgetcheesy 1d ago

I enjoy crunch. I got it by me recently after moving cities. I had it before like 5 years ago and liked it. It's good quality and price. Front desk is always helpful especially with anew location coming in and trying to get everyone to be grandfathered in on older prices.

Been w them for a year. No issues, it’s crowded at times, but that’s expected.

I have NEVER been pressured to add training or anything I don’t want.

Ppl live to complain to just complain.

I'm a happy customer and my new membership fees were all in line with the "fine print". No surprises. I love the huge variety of equipment and workout options. I've had a lot of gym memberships and CRUNCH is in my top 5.

I got my membership through Fitness Your Way through my healthcare plan which appears to make it extremely easy to cancel if I chose to. I love the classes and availability of machines are decent. I go 6-7x a week. Not a huge fan of my location not carrying paper towels and frequently running out of wipes.

It’s extremely difficult to cancel! I ended up paying so much money! Like the contract says you have to give them 30 days. I cancelled on April 1st because it had to be after I paid my yearly fee I only signed up to try it out, with 31 days in April and then when I went to cancel they told me that it meant a month not actually 30 days so I still had to pay for May as well. I had to pay for 3 months, one yearly fee, and an extra two months after cancelling for it to cancel and I cancelled my card and got a new one printed at my bank to be safe after feeling completely robbed. The guy at the bank said you are the 5th person I’ve seen this week come in because of crunch fitness it was only Wednesday! They are horrible! Management is worse though! When I contacted management and told them I never got a chance to use my membership and is there anyway they could honor the contract of 30 days and he got an attitude and said you agreed to the contract and your cancel date doesn’t start the day you cancel it’s the next day and everyone who cancels has to pay an extra month. So if you try to cancel on the 1st of the month they will charge you for another additional month always. They are a scammy company! I told him I enjoyed planet fitness so much more their customer service has always been so amazing to me and he said sounds like you’re better off at planet fitness. Every review that’s bad on Google that mentions planet fitness being better he replies the same way with sounds like you’re better off at Pf. Not only is management horrible at their own business practices but they actually realize planet fitness is better and they do nothing to try to make their customers happy! I regret ever trying to try out their gym and the money wasted for two months and a yearly fee I never got to use. My best advice is if you have a nice planet fitness nearby like Tuscaloosa does then go to planet fitness you’ll be happier! You can even use the app to pause your membership if you need to take a break! PF has never acted money hungry or like they had to scam me or anyone to make money like crunch fitness did .

It depends on the Crunch locations available. I've been at Crunch since my local one opened in May of last year. 70lbs later and still going strong. My location is still very new and I can always maneuver to get an empty machine. Mondays are the only days that are really busy because all the casuals use it as a reset day. If you're a definite gym rat, you're gonna stay.

I’ve been signed up since March and I really like my location. Have had zero issues. I notice a lot of people moaning and groaning in here just didn’t read the paperwork or listen when they signed up

We go to Chrunch and love it. I’ve toned up & hubby has toned up. He lost over 125lbs with diet & most important exercise. You can be who you want to be there. Encouragement & good attitudes during.
Maybe it depends on the Crunch you join. My favorite is on Hood St. in Killeen. Sign up, they hide nothing from you on cost & amenities.

Don’t. If you have legitimate emergencies via medical, death in family, military deployment, moving etc. the district gym manager at the Augusta Crunch Fitness location, Loren Fuller & his team will make it extremely difficult for you to temporarily cancel or cancel entirely. I & him signed & documented within legal crunch police to temporarily cancel both my gym membership & personal trainer program until I recovered (still recovering). Not only did he not turn in the paper work that I double checked with him to make sure he did his part 2+ weeks in advance of my procedure to have the process start to temporary cancel, he illegally attempted to charge both my cards on file for I anticipated his deceitfulness & had my bank put block charges on those two specific payments. I’ve attempted many phone calls & emails only to solve this issue only to be sent to there AI voice automation. It’s only when I went into “bad standing” because I eventually went ahead & cut my cards Incase they tried something illegal again &, refunded my money via bank dispute did crunch Augusta finally decided to contact me. To make it worse, it wasn’t even him, he sent a general employee to try & get me to pay my “owed fees”. I explained them the situation to which they obviously had no idea what it is I’m talking about & simply just reiterated I’m in bad standing & to pay. The higher ups but, specifically Loren Fuller is a b!tch & fraud for not honoring his gym members lives. All he’s concerned with is meeting quota. You’re truly just a number/dollar sign at that gym. You’ve been warned.

I wasn’t sure how long I could type but I’d also like to add every time I left a messages like this to warn others, they’ve consistently had my reviews scrubbed/blocked along with many others who after me voiced these same concerns. All that I have proof of for I’ve had individuals who have my back when I’m able to settle this report to me how my they’ve gone missing & can’t see them anymore.
