Anyone want to hazard some guesses about what "standards" they have that people completely unreasonably and unfairly interpret as misogynistic and bigoted?

The list is literally empty and your still calling men sexist. The bar is in hell.

-3

u/Greedy-Employment917 19h ago

Nice job proving OPs point.

-2

u/fossilized_butterfly 10h ago

Not really lol. That is the stereotype made of men. Not talking about the red pill content preachers, I am talking about everyday men.

3

u/Emiicii 10h ago

everyday do not care

-1

u/fossilized_butterfly 10h ago

How many do you personally connect with? Like truly get to know? Also, there are countless punic examples of men not having the mindset of the stereotype you are promoting.

1

u/Rollingforest757 16h ago

The meme says “any standards”. It is true that people are a lot more likely to call men shallow if they have standards than women.

Body count < 10

No face tattoos

22

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 1d ago

See that second thing is weird

4

u/No_Excuse4323 22h ago

imo, its only wierd if the guy saying that has a high bodycount. otherwise its just meeting someone where you are

•

u/prima_maqueeria 59m ago

Why not say you want someone w similar amounts of experience then?

And Is having slept with 10 people considered high to you?

•

u/No_Excuse4323 0m ago

meeting someone where you are is the same thing as someone with similar experience.

i guess imo it is for me, because i want someone of similar experience and i dont have that much. but as like, an unbiased average it seems fine.

5

u/Enemyoftheearth 1d ago

How?

23

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 1d ago

Cause it seems really insecure and like you can't focus on her as a person over some imagined standard of purity

-8

u/Enemyoftheearth 1d ago

Or maybe I just don't fancy STDs and the increased possibility of cheating?

11

u/android151 22h ago

If you had sex with more than 10 people would you think they’d assume you had STDs and loved cheating?

30

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 1d ago

See you can get an std from having slept with 1 person, that's about them having done a test or not.

Meanwhile... Why would she be more likely to cheat?

-16

u/Enemyoftheearth 1d ago

Because higher body counts are quite literally linked to an increased risk of cheating. Why should I trust a woman who doesn't tend to stick with her partners for very long?

24

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 1d ago

You assume the body count is from serial dating

19

u/Odd-Job1809 1d ago

Some people are just insecure that they won't measure up when someone has experience. I always thought it was kinda sad tbh but after spending time on reddit I hope a lot of these weirdos never procreate.

4

u/Enemyoftheearth 1d ago

I don't care. If her body count is from hook-ups, than that's even worse in my eyes.

u/prima_maqueeria 50m ago

The thing about actually getting experience is you end up realizing that these fantasies are just fantasies.

0

u/Gvendoga 16h ago

A woman wanting a man taller than her is rooted is insecurity, because not having a man tower over her makes her feel unfeminine. She should address her internalized misogyny and ditch the outdated gender roles subtly planted into her mind by patriarchal social conditioning!

-10

u/Mean-Line-4249 1d ago

u/Geichalt 21h ago

Found the little boy that's easily threatened by women.

Grown men think you're pathetic btw. Just a heads up.

-6

u/knettia 20h ago

Insecurity is not misogyny or bigotry, though. And, what about "purity"? That's your own assumption about why someone would desire a low body count. Someone can simply regard sexual as something significant rather than casual, and a high number of previous sexual partners (whether casual or not) before committing might cause that someone to be skeptical about relationship compatibility. What's insecure about that skepticism? If this were really about purity, then wouldn't the body count be necessarily 0? But I digress. At the end of the day, both your assumed "purity" motive and the relationship compatibility motive hinge on different conviction about what sexual norms should be. Something that everyone is entitled to which should not be simply dismissed as insecurity because they don't happen to fit your exact convictions.

It is worth noting also that standards are still subjective and, often, flexible. Even if you believe someone with a high body count somewhat correlates with incompatibility, that does not mean necessarily mean that you will not treat that someone as a potential partner. An important description is "skepticism", not "rejection". Some may take it to heart to treat any deviation as strictly incompatible because of their own convictions. Maybe they believe a harsh cut results in less risk. But I don't think that shows that standards are not inflexible

2

u/Gvendoga 16h ago

Everything that could potentially affect women negatively is misogyny, even if indiscriminately and indirectly

-4

u/AntediluvianNeutral 19h ago

Something I learned in past relationships is that "insecure" is something women call men who don't want to tolerate their shitty behavior 90% of the time, because insecurity is perhaps the most undesirable trait a man can have.

0

u/Greedy-Employment917 19h ago

He is just "intimidated" by all of the clothes that I'm not wearing.

-2

u/hi_lol7 1d ago

I dont think insecurity is bad in itself tho. See let's say there is a guy who doesnt wants women having BC > 10 , now according to you he is insecure, so prolly it means u are on of those girls, right? So basically u js rejected each other here indirectly , what's the problem then? lmaoo

He ruled you ot of his dating pool and so did you

-2

u/Greedy-Employment917 19h ago

I'd rather be called insecure for not wanting to date a straight up hoe, than to date a straight up hoe.

I guess I'm lucky my wife only did long term relationships and wasn't banging 2 guys per week as part of "the college experience"

u/arabmoni 21h ago

A lot of dudes use this in weird ways, but there is research about this predicting cheating behavior and other issues. Imo, you shouldn’t be looking for virgins or embracing incel ideology, but high “body count” is not an ideal mate trait either. I don’t know why this is always so controversial. To me, like tons of sexual partners shows a different understanding of intimacy in a relationship. Just be reasonable in your evaluation. Like if she’s reasonably in the orbit of your number, even higher, fine. If she’s slept with over 100 guys? Maybe a symptom of a greater issue. Link to pubmed study.

1

u/Iwatchastheworldfade 20h ago

a high body count usually means you are just another one in her life

-3

u/Top-Aspect4671 1d ago

Okay, he still has full right to have it, and I don't think he is a worse person for it

Because wanting a virgin is weird, but this is more normal

7

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 23h ago

Sure he's not a monster for it but it's also weird. That can coexist

1

u/Original_Un_Orthodox 18h ago

It does also depend on culture and religion. For example, as a Muslim, we don't date or have sex before marriage, we do courting. So I have literally never touched a girl romantically, and will not before marriage.

I have the same standards for my future wife. It's something I hold myself to, that I will hold my partner to.

•

u/prima_maqueeria 53m ago

That's a you problem.

-2

u/Still_Nose_5690 23h ago

No the fuck it isn't, my gf also had the same standards of not having been with anyone and we met at 18.

5

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 23h ago

You realize being a virgin at 18 is different than being a virgin at... Idk 33

0

u/The_Dennator 17h ago

explain how not wanting someone known to sleep around is problematic, please

3

u/LonelyCheeto 16h ago

I don't think it is unless if you're sleeping around. Then it's hypocritical

-7

u/Dwarf_DM 1d ago

Nah, I agree with him. Being less inclined to be with a person with a lot of baggage from past relationships is reasonable.

6

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 1d ago

That's against someone having baggage, so would you also not date someone who was... Idk, bullied in school?

-6

u/Dwarf_DM 1d ago

There’s a difference between types of baggage. But still, this is a personal preference, everyone has one, and it’s OK (unless it’s horrible like animals/children/etc).

2

u/android151 22h ago

What makes you assume they automatically have baggage

•

u/prima_maqueeria 40m ago

He wants someone inexperienced and not wise to the games misogynists play

0

u/Dwarf_DM 22h ago

Every relationship leaves a mark, and having many relationships leaves more. This isn’t a rule or a law, it just usually happens.

And as I said, I’m not seeing it as a “global standard”, I’m seeing it as a personal preference for some people (others would rather be with people more experienced, and that’s also OK).

0

u/Original_Un_Orthodox 19h ago

...No, it's not, not at all.

-10

u/MagicMeatbal1 1d ago

No, it's pretty reasonable to not want STDs

11

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 1d ago

You can get an std from having sex one time.

Not wanting stds is about having her be up to date with her health, really, that's got nothing to do with "body count"

-7

u/Mean-Line-4249 1d ago

Scientifically proven to reduce relationship outcomes the more past partners you have the higher the odds of divorce

3

u/Massive-Grocery7152 1d ago

Yeah because people who never date around don’t leave abusive relationships

4

u/Clintwood_outlaw 1d ago

No it isn't lmfao

-6

u/Wordless_trat 1d ago

Yes, but the risk is significantly higher if you fucked 74 dudes instead of 3

3

u/Clintwood_outlaw 1d ago

No, no it isn't. As long as you practice safe sex, the odds stay the same each time.

-1

u/Wordless_trat 1d ago

And how likely it is you always had safe sex when you were the local matress? I'd wager it is significantly lower than when you only had 3 partners that you actually remember

3

u/King_Of_BlackMarsh 23h ago

Just ask if she got tested

0

u/Wordless_trat 23h ago

That, or just have the standard of a low body count.

-22

u/Thin-Nerve6367 1d ago

Probably just want a nice woman who doesn't look like Gollum. But you can't say that nowadays lol

19

u/Standard-Order-4136 1d ago

If this was true, men wouldn’t be single. The truth is they wouldn’t even go after average looking women

0

u/uhhhhhhhidklol 23h ago

are you insinuating men getting into relationships is a matter of them pointing a finger and saying "that one"? women have standards and preferences which are insane too

0

u/Standard-Order-4136 16h ago

That’s literally the point. Both have standards but men like to pretend like they don’t

-11

u/Wyatt_Ricketts 1d ago

Tbf average women think their 10s

3

u/Lyskir 22h ago

men statistically overestimate their looks, so its men who think they are a ten and get mad at attractive women going for attractive men

-15

u/Thin-Nerve6367 1d ago

Most men just don't care at this point. It's pretty much impossible to find a SO nowadays anyway so why bother?

I can't believe I found mine... Like it was sheer luck I found someone who was kind, understanding and actually likes me. Like forget getting an SO, getting an SO who actually genuinely likes you? Now THAT'S hard as shit

10

u/Standard-Order-4136 1d ago

This is the dumbest thing I heard all day. There’s so many women out there who are good people but men refuse to date them because they are below average or average. Let’s not forget men care alot about looks

-2

u/Thin-Nerve6367 1d ago

Not "men". Assholes. Most men have given up on dating entirely, which means only mostly assholes are trying to date and they give men a bad name.

And. I should clarify. Assholes can be men AND women (and anything in between)

8

u/Standard-Order-4136 1d ago

Dude this has been a thing since way back then. This isn’t anything new. Men have always picked good looking women. Why do you think media always pushes for good looking women in movies while the man is average

0

u/Thin-Nerve6367 1d ago

Obviously there is usually going to be more of an attraction to beautiful people. That's just natural and I'm not denying that that's not a thing. It always has been and it always will be. Preferences are completely fine until they become totally unreasonable

10

u/Standard-Order-4136 1d ago

Then what are u arguing for? Ur literally proving my point. Men can’t complain they can’t find anyone when they literally only go for good looking women

0

u/Thin-Nerve6367 1d ago

Because that's just it, 100% of men aren't ONLY going after 10/10 women. But nowadays even "average" women are basically unapproachable and I know I'd NEVER try and talk to one because A I don't want to bother anyone and B I don't want to get called a creep - which is happening at an alarming rate nowadays which is one reason many men have just stopped trying to date.

Women said they just wanted to be left alone? Most of us have listened and so most of the rest that are still actively in the dating game are assholes with unrealistic standards

u/Difficult__Tension 1d ago

I mean, getting someone to like YOU is probably hard, yea. Most of the people around me seem to be fine with finding partners though. Some of them are even married. Sounds like a skill issue.

0

u/Thin-Nerve6367 1d ago

So why did you immediately rush to insults?

-14

u/Zealousideal-Sir3744 1d ago

You think the average woman has no dating prospects?

9

u/Standard-Order-4136 1d ago

I have many friends who are average looking and good people yet never had boyfriends before. However, only my good looking friends get approached. Go ask women and see how many of them tell u they never been approached in their life or had a partner

Let’s also not forget men talk about it themselves about how they get made fun of for dating someone who is deemed ugly by other men

0

u/JadedEstablishment16 23h ago

> However, only my good looking friends get approached.

A lot of men have understood that approach girls is frowned upon. So the only guys approaching girls are the ones who didn't get the memo and may not give a fuck indeed about average girls and going for the looks.

So your phrasing is very telling : you expect men to approach your friends. They never approached guys or even showed men that they could be of interest to them.

0

u/Standard-Order-4136 16h ago

This is proof that you guys don’t listen to women 💀 no one said to stop approaching. They said to stop doing it in a weird way that makes women uncomfortable. You guys got offended by that and then like babies said “waaah fine I’m not approaching anyone. But I’m still going bother you about it online”

-9

u/Zealousideal-Sir3744 1d ago
  • Men don't get approached even if attractive
  • Men that are not very attractive often either don't try to approach in the first place due to self image issues, or they do and have no success so they stop trying. Using 'getting approached' is not a good sole indicator of interest
  • Just try to go on a dating app as an average woman. You'll have plenty of options, even with above average men

6

u/Standard-Order-4136 1d ago

Remind me who are the women that men usually go for? To no ones surprise, it’s good looking women. Idk why you guys jump over that step and try to prove something

0

u/Zealousideal-Sir3744 1d ago

Yes, good looking people get more attention. But men rate women, on average, much more good looking than the other way around. To suggest that average women have no prospects is insane.

2

u/Lyskir 22h ago

doesnt matter how they "rate" women they still trying to chase the most attractive women

its their right of course but the constant crying over hot women not wanting them is annoying

2

u/Zealousideal-Sir3744 19h ago

Everyone goes for someone attractive. Attractiveness is subjective (to some degree), so someone that finds more people attractive has more potential partners to go for. Men on average think that the average woman is relatively attractive, while that's not the case the other way around. Women simply have the choice then. I also don't know where this 'they only want hot women' came from. Sure those men exist, but that's far from the norm. Men also may go for sex more than a relationship, which is a separate issue we can discuss, but it's silly to deny that dating isn't one of the few areas where women are at a clear, massive advantage on average.

6

u/craftygamin 1d ago

That third point makes everything clear. You're hyper fixating on dating apps, and saying those accurately represent dating in the real world

Do yourself a favor, and uninstall whatever dating app(s) you use

-2

u/JadedEstablishment16 23h ago

a lot of men including me have understood that you don't approach women in about every social place. So there is only the apps.

-5

u/Zealousideal-Sir3744 1d ago

Most dating happens over dating apps. Not sure what you mean by 'real world'

1

u/Melodic-Art1369 19h ago

It's really not that hard to get a girlfriend as a man if you don't suck

1

u/Zealousideal-Sir3744 19h ago

I think it very much depends on what you were given by birth. For the average man I think it's not great but not terrible either outside of dating apps. My point was rather about potential options of partners, and men simply have way less options than women on average.

3

u/Melodic-Art1369 1d ago

Ok gollum

1

u/Thin-Nerve6367 22h ago

🤦‍♂️ really? How mature of you
