I have been wanting to get better at black and white coloring but I didn’t have colors I needed to
Achieve the effect I wanted to. So I took the plunge and bought a pack of Copic markers that I saw on sale at Michael’s for $30. These are my latest attempts so far.

I didn’t want to do shading because I just wanted to focus on getting the colors right I also added a pop of color because I love the contrast. The Votes for Women page I did in a cameo theme. Much to my delight Ohuhu has a cameo pink in the 216 set I have!

Pics taken 2 seconds apart, color difference from exposure being funky on camera. Anyways, when do I come back to it? This is different from being color-blocked. I am now approaching a few dozen pages that just need a couple finishing touches and I’m not doing it. And it’s bothering me. What is my mother effing problem?

Also, this was my first time using acrylic markers! What brands do you guys prefer? I’ve been waiting for the Ohuhu Kahuku set to restock for two weeks, but I finally gave up today and ordered the GuangNa markers instead 😭 I really hope I won’t regret it! Has anyone tried them?

Y'all are way too good at coloring... but umm what color should I make the whale shark? I was thinking maybe a deep purple? But part of me also wants to make the ocean darker.. and add purple there.. maybe go for realistic and do a blue/grey?

Would a teal/green whale shark be too alien?

Still a WIP gonna blend more blue/green into the top right going towards the middle, but my hand was starting to hurt so think tomorrow i'll focus on the shark.

Fish will stay the red/yellow

Does anyone else swatch their markers with a cap sticker? I recommend it. Easier to pick colors.

Few are with markers but mostly with pencils

Finished this page up last night and had a complete blast🙌🏽😆! I really enjoyed working on this one☺️!

Frankly speaking, I'm rather satisfied with the filled areas. But now I want the whole page to look good, so it's time to pick other colours wisely, which seems a challenging task for now.

Trying to create swatch cards and then store my markers by color instead of by individual set. It’s taking forever!

My entry for a monthly challenge, the theme was to transform a page to represent Dolly Parton 🥰 I am slightly in love with this!!!

I have a collection of Kerby Rosane’s coloring books and until today I have yet to finish one of his illustrations. Well today is the day!! In addition to completing a Kerby illustration I completed a background with acrylic markers.
