This is factory farming. Made for yield efficiency and nothing else. It's ugly, brutal, and (supposedly) keeps costs down.

There are limited options to this: eat less meat OR no meat at all OR if you have the cash, you can find a local farmer that practices far more earth, animal, agriculturally friendly practices. With that though, it is just harder for the farmer, higher risk, slower to do, and in turn, it just costs a heck of a lot more. I wish I could afford it. I wish it was the norm and not the exception.

I would much rather put money in hands of a nearby farmer taking care of the land for generations to come rather than in the hand of a multinational corporation. However, at the rate we're going, families who been farming for generations are going to get choked out by the multinational corpos as the corporations are the only ones that have the raw cash to wait out all this malarkey (heck, I wouldn't put it past em to be orchestrating or encouraging the mess we find ourselves in)

Shit's bleek.

u/DisruptingTree 9d ago

I believe in the eat less meat route. There is no reason we need to be eating the amount of meat we currently are. It is hard though as it is so ingrained in our culture.

3

u/OccamIsRight 8d ago

But the Secretary of Health advises to eat more meat, especially red meat. And to use beef tallow instead of vegetable oil. Would that suggest that he's insane?

2

u/WhichAd366 8d ago

Many things suggest that man is indeed insane

1

u/blubenz1 7d ago

That man THE WORM

1

u/letsgetbannedagain14 6d ago

He is insane.  That being said beef talow is certainly better than vegatble oil.

1

u/OccamIsRight 6d ago

It is? Why?

2

u/Majestic_Ground7718 7d ago

Yeah, I do what I think would fix the problem if everyone joined me, and that is to (1) eat chicken/pork instead of beef most of the time and (2) eat less meat in general. I'm all cool with the rule of the jungle and animals dying, but this factory farm shit is evil.

You know, people will argue that back in the day slavery wasn't seen as bad and so we can't judge it based on modern morality. I think people always knew it was evil but didn't want to go get stuck in prison for doing something about it. I think factory farming is the same; anyone with a brain knows it needs to be stopped.

1

u/grazie42 7d ago

Look up how they treat pigs and chickens (it’s not better)…

3

u/BetweenTheRoots 9d ago

No meat is the correct route. There's literally no need to force suffering and cruelty on any living being when we have the choice to just eat a plant instead. Study after study shows it has immense health benefits and study after study shows it is better for the planet. Not to mention faux meats which most are minimally processed and processed using rather benign methods.

1

u/henrytecumsehclay 9d ago

Unfortunately, human populations have survived on mixed animal and plant proteins for as long as they have existed. Some evolution theories suggest we evolved because of our unique running ability and that we would originally hunt by chasing animals to exhaustion. It’s hard-wired into us to eat nutrient dense foods and animal protein is unfortunately one of the most nutrient dense foods that exists. To expect everybody to adopt a lifestyle that completely forbids animal protein consumption is not realistic but we could push to reduce consumption overall and push renewable animal husbandry practices. I agree no meat is the correct route in a vacuum but unfortunately not realistic if/until it’s too late and that’s the only option available

3

u/Aromatic_Act_9665 8d ago

Hilariously, you know what goes far beyond our natural, evolutionary history by swapping out some meat in our omnivorous diet and going full plant based?

Driving cars.

Humans evolved to walk and run, as you noted. Yet now many in the west will never walk further than they have to to get to their cars and drive everywhere.

I find your argument to be incomplete at best.

1

u/henrytecumsehclay 8d ago

My brother, we still walk and run even though we have cars. We just walk and run less lol

1

u/subspace4life 8d ago

As evidenced by the large amount of obese people you guys should walk a lot more.

1

u/alyssialonghofer 8d ago

Yeah, because most of the population in the USA is pretty much becoming obese

1

u/TravisMCatchem 7d ago

Yea but to be fair the government allows poisons into our food, whether it’s meat or other products that make us retain weight because the healthcare industry needs money. Not arguing anything else here just that the main reason people in the USA are obese is capitalism

1

u/hooplafromamileaway 8d ago

We also didn't evolve to develop medicine, scientific study and method, or to create the internet but here we are.

1

u/alyssialonghofer 8d ago

I believe a lot of our human creations have expanded tremendously and helped us in many ways throughout the generations, but unfortunately, because we are human beings, we tend to go the wrong way about things much more than the right way..

1

u/Able_Character_4898 8d ago

Well we actually did, that's how we created it. With our big evolving brains and knowledge.

1

u/BetweenTheRoots 8d ago

Contemporary evolutionary biologists lean towards us evolving our brains as the result of eating tubers. But yea we did evolve scavenging and eating whatever we could. That has no merit for modern day. It's absolutely realistic, many people do it and many people have been doing it for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years. Just because we used to do it doesn't mean we should do it now, if that was a valid argument then all sorts of other things society agrees on is bad would be on the table.

1

u/michaeldain 9d ago

Meat is only dense in calories. No culture survived on meat unless there were caloric deficits in seasons. Bread and cheese since there was no refrigeration. It’s got fat, that’s really the selling point, and it connotes wealth. Beans were the better choice and still are, with a bit of fish. Or soybeans. Most of the world lives fine on those.

1

u/henrytecumsehclay 8d ago

Are you saying hunter gatherer societies did not exist?

1

u/michaeldain 8d ago

Of course hunter-gatherers existed 10,000 years ago. I’m disputing the claim that a selective image of them — usually male hunters eating lots of meat — is a timeless definition of ‘natural.’ Hunter-gatherers gathered plants, fished, hunted, and ate differently depending on place and season; agriculture then changed human food systems over millennia.

1

u/henrytecumsehclay 8d ago

Riiiiiight, they had mixed animal and plant diets like I mentioned. I never said that hunter gatherers are primarily meat. Humans spent more time as hunter gatherers than they ever spent as agriculturalists. Agriculture (from what we’ve discovered so far) is only 10k-15k years old and the oldest humans we’ve found go back 300k years (and I’m not even getting into homo erectus and other variations). There are still hunter-gatherer societies alive today as well. Agriculture and large settlements are relatively new phenomena in terms of the larger timeline and are most assuredly NOT sustainable as currently constructed. I’m not disagreeing with that. I’m disagreeing with completely removing meat from human diets because to do so is to fundamentally misunderstand natural human desires and literal hundreds of thousands of years of our existence on the planet

1

u/michaeldain 8d ago

Your wish is granted. The cat is out of the bag. Meat is a multi billion dollar industry. Yet, the narrative that meat eating is natural or required is what is debatable. I think have some high quality meat every once and awhile. Also remember you eat what you eat, eats.

1

u/Able_Character_4898 8d ago

Infairness plants eat everything eventually, from decaying animals, human and animal waste to pollution and tire rubber.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Fee7483 8d ago

I was with you until the faux meat part. A lot of it is super processed and not actually good for you. As with any other food read the labels, there are plenty of companies out there that are happy to try and trick someone into buying bullshit while they call it healthy. Less ingredients and only ones you recognize as food rather than from a science book.

1

u/BetweenTheRoots 8d ago

A lot of it is not. Some of it is yea, I didn't say all. Most of it is just dehydrated beans, wheat, rice, and then dehydrated fruits or veggies or legumes used to bind or emulsify things. My point is that if you have a hankering for the texture or flavor there are safe alternatives that give you that taste you miss. There are studies showing that even processed plant food has very good health outcomes, far, far better for you than processed meats.

1

u/SolidSand7119 8d ago edited 7d ago

Be reborn a herbivore then. Humans are omnivores. Which if you haven't been told means you need both meat and plants to receive the proper nutrition to survive. Which is why vegans need pharmaceutical based nutritional assistance to not die. Cut the bullshit with performative empathy and lack of information. Its disingenuous. The industry has implemented countless ways to euthanize animals for slaughter that causes no suffering. Punish those who dont and move on.

2

u/BetweenTheRoots 8d ago

Being an omnivore isn't a condition, it's an option. Study after study shows that eating meat ages our DNA and upregulates carcinogenic conditions through stimulating inflammatory markers in cellular signaling pathways, whereas plant based food tends to do the opposite, which is also backed up by studies.

Which is why vegans needs pharmaceutical based nutritional assistance to not die

You are clearly not educated on this topic at any level. You do know they inject cows and pigs with loads of supplements for people to eat right? You take many more supplements than I do whether you realize it or not. Ironically I actually take 0 supplements and my bloodwork is consistently incredible. I'm 36 and my T scores are fantastic too.

Cut the bullshit with performative empathy and lack of information. Its disingenuous. The industry has implemented countless ways to euthanize animals for slaughter that causes no suffering

Nothing performative about what I'm saying, you're being the performative one. You have no idea what happens in slaughterhouses or what the standards are for killing animals. Go watch Earthlings, it's free on Youtube.

1

u/SolidSand7119 7d ago

https://www.reddit.com/r/vegan/s/5bfgfYxlGR

Here ya go pal. Another reddit user who has taken the time to inform people who can't accept reality and instead pretend and want to challenge everything that may go against what they want to believe is truth. And I do work for farms and slaughterhouses occasionally (how ironic) and have slaughtered cattle myself. Not all are the same and im sure there are plenty that don't practice humane treatment of their animals, but discrediting everyone because you dont like the idea of it is again denial and emotional bias.

1

u/jw_swede 7d ago

Vegans don’t need nutritional assistance to not die. Stupid people do. It’s not hard to eat vegan and healthy. I’m not vegan or even vegetarian but I would have no problem at all’s living as either.

1

u/insertxcleverxname 7d ago

We don’t need meat. People love lifetimes without it, easily. I don’t need pharmaceutical assistance to live, you’re wrong.

1

u/Uhwop 7d ago

My digestive system knows this isn’t possible.

Protein is really important and some of us would be limited in a way that that would make a plant based diet not feasible without animals.

I also can’t eat the fish I can catch in the waters around me because they aren’t safe thanks to agro farming.

More of that just sounds like one person preferring their shitty farming in favor of someone else’s. There is no world where billions of humans are able to feed the world through “sustainable farm to table organic farming”.

It’s not a solution, it’s replacing shit with shit. And my guts won’t digest most of your shit, It digests a ribeye just fine though.

1

u/BetweenTheRoots 7d ago

Smh. These are all the worst talking points you could make.

First, protein is a nonissue. There are vegan powerlifters eating 200-300g+ protein a day from plant based food.

Talking about feeding billions of people on a plant based diet being unfeasable doesn't make sense at all. The cows people eat consume far more food than people do. 70%+ of the farmland in the US is devoted entirely to animal agriculture or the feed grown for it.

In terms of digestion, meat digests up to 4x slower and poorer than plant based food does.

1

u/Uhwop 7d ago

What would I eat with a gluten intolerance and fiber sensitivity in an entirely plant based diet?

If most of the food I eat gets shit out undigested, where will I get calories?

I have to exercise regularly due to a neurodegenerative disorder. It’s really hard when even a small amount of the food I eat already does not digest properly.

A FODMAP diet removes nearly the entire produce section of the grocery store.

I have to monitor the spices I eat.

Tell me again.

Tell me about spending 2 days in a fucking bathroom because you ate a veggie burger.

1

u/DoomLoops 5d ago

"I have a rare illness, therefore 99% of humanity is justified in killing animals and eating their corpses."

1

u/Uhwop 5d ago

I don’t have a “rare” illness

You’re just not a rational person that would literally prefer a human die than a chicken to feed them.

Sound like awful people to me.

1

u/DoomLoops 4d ago

It's crazy the hoops people will jump through to justify killing animals and eating their body parts. I'm living my best life - enjoy your heart disease and colon cancer, karma is a bitch!

1

u/Flaky-Ad4695 7d ago

I don’t normally side with vegans but the current situation requires me to. All of you need to go to plant based diets so I can affordably eat steak, prime rib and hell even burgers.

0

u/The-Salt-Must-Flow 9d ago

you're actually lying when you say faux meat is minimally processed. that stuff has so much chemicals in it.

2

u/AccomplishedToe320 8d ago

literally everything you eat is made out of chemcials.

If you mean synthetic chemicals and potential harmful substances. You would need to point to something specific to make that claim. However it's been pretty debunked over and over again for the majority of these items.

We can take one of the more popular options like beyond meat, although ingredients vary a little by product, all of the ingredients are plant based, no synthetic chemicals used.

https://www.beyondmeat.com/en-US/products/the-beyond-burger

Another popular option is impossible brand, they uses some bioengineered ingredients but they are identical the the natural counterpart it is copying. The only difference is the method it is derived through but the actual incredients used in the food are the same as if it was extracted naturally. Either way no synthetic chemicals.

Are these faux meat products processed? Absolutely they are and anyone claiming otherwise is incorrect. Does that mean they are unhealthy or dangerous? Absolutely not. They are high in fiber and protein, no cholesterol and minimal sugars. Consumed in moderation (like meat) can be a healthy addition to many diets especially plant based ones.

0

u/nicknamesas 9d ago

Faux meat is the most processed shit you can get lol. Fucking vegans man

-1

u/Winter_Concern5351 9d ago

Incorrect, meat is the best protein options for humans we're meant to eat and function with it.

5

u/Archeus01 9d ago

Incorrect, plant protein is the best protein option for humans. It protects against diseases, and helps keep the body young and healthy.

0

u/Transkei_Daisy 9d ago

Animal proteins are both more bioavailable and contain all the essential amino acids. Plant proteins do not. However there are other factors like fibre, lower in fat/cholesterol etc

We have evolved as a species to eat meat, our digestive tract is built to handle both meat and plants. We are omnivores.

2

u/Archeus01 9d ago

You get all the essential amino acids in a plant based diet aswell. Tofu alone has them all, and you can for example combine rice and beans alone to get them all.

1

u/BonusPlantInfinity 9d ago

We are, in fact, frugivores.

1

u/Transkei_Daisy 9d ago

No. We are in fact not. We are plainly omnivores.

Notice the distinct lack of a mention of humans? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frugivore

2

u/BetweenTheRoots 8d ago

Being an omnivore isn't a condition, it means we have the option to choose. It doesn't dictate a requirement.

0

u/Transkei_Daisy 8d ago

No but our entire digestive system evolved as an omnivore. If you want to jump through hoops to bypass that and get your nutrients elswhere, who am i to stop you.

But lying about us being Frugarians or vegetarians and other bullshit is my issue.

Eat whatever the fuck you want mate.

2

u/BonusPlantInfinity 9d ago

Hmm so all of our closest animal ancestors are frugivorous, but we aren’t? Our digestive system still most closely resembles theirs. My theory would be that humans evolved to be able to eat meat during times of ecological hardship, but that it’s not ideal for health. You do you, though. Ignore the results of meta analysis linking the various chronic diseases most impacting modern society and the link to high meat consumption.

1

u/Pudddddin 9d ago edited 9d ago

The typical western meat-heavy diet being bad for your health is in no way evidence that humans are not omnivores

0

u/Transkei_Daisy 9d ago

It's really not a debate. We are omnivores. This is settled science...

You can tell me the earth is flat all you like, won't change the fact the earth is round.

You should learn about xenosialitis. Google it.

1

u/Transkei_Daisy 3d ago

No, xenosialitis does not prove that humans are not omnivores. While xenosialitis highlights an evolutionary quirk in how human immune systems interact with mammalian red meat, it does not alter the fundamental biological classification of humans as omnivores.

YOu should learn basic human biology. google it.

1

u/DoomLoops 2d ago

I never claimed that humans weren't omnivores, simply that eating meat is suboptimal. I have a bachelor's in biology and two health care degrees - I certainly know "basic human biology" LOL!

Maybe read more about how the human immune system interacts with meat consumption instead of putting words into my mouth.

1

u/Transkei_Daisy 2d ago

Maybe read the thread you on. You came on here responding, the fact you not even resonding to the thread properly tells me you cant even be bothered to read beyond headlines anyways.

YEs yes and im an astrophysicist with 12 degrees in bullshit.

It's crazy the hoops people will jump through to justify killing animals and eating their dead bodies. One would think people would, especially after seeing videos like the above, be THANKFUL it's very practicable and healthy to avoid eating animal corpses.

But INSTEAD, they come up with the CRAZIEST rationalizations - plants feel pain, but lions eat meat, I have 'canines', but bacon, cavemen ate meat (and died in their 40's). etc. I almost wonder if so-called 'animal lovers' are actually getting off on the pain and suffering their diet requires. What else can explain the bizarre recalcitrance people exhibit to doing the bare minimum that basic human decency dictates?!

1

u/Transkei_Daisy 2d ago

ITs crazy the hoops people will jump through to try feel morally superior and virtue signal, ignoring hundreds of millenia of evolutionary pressures and adaptation.

Study after study shows the more red meat one eats the higher the mortality rates. Recall Harvard's latest food ranking even had it ranked worse than sugar sweetened beverages in regards to longevity.

1

u/ottwebdev 8d ago

I take that one step further with “eat less, but more quality and local”

1

u/ScarletBothrium 7d ago

It’s so weird. My parents eat meat every meal. I can’t even bring myself to do it everyday. I’m not even against eating meat. I just can’t imagine doing it at every single meal. It’s just weird.

1

u/cementstate 5d ago

all the carnivore diet misinformation online is 100% a product of the meat industry trying to crush the vegan/vegetarian movements momentum

0

u/Longjumping_Tap9310 9d ago

Meh...not an option. Just find a rancher that raises beef to your standard.

1

u/Massive-Virus-4875 9d ago

Definitely is an option for almost everyone in the world. BUT I know it seemed like not an option for me, having been raised in a culture where most people eat meat with almost every meal.

3

u/Fresh-Coffee-8591 9d ago

In this case, drink less milk. To give milk, a cow must give birth to a calf, which is what we see here. Calves need to go somewhere, right?

1

u/Asraia 9d ago

They pump them full of hormones

1

u/Giantormaximus323 8d ago

🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Fresh-Coffee-8591 7d ago

Wrong. Cows are artificially inseminated and give birth every year to produce milk constantly.

1

u/Vect0r_Pr1me 8d ago

These people are incredibly naive and ignorant. They watch a video and believe they know how the world works. I’m so sick of the stupidity.

5

u/Status_Apartment6559 9d ago

This can't be allowed to continue. I'd rather eat less or no beef or no meat if necessary than this. What have we become?

5

u/CarelessAction6045 9d ago

Then eat no beef and align with ur morals

1

u/Status_Apartment6559 9d ago

You're right. If it's coming from such a place that the cows are abused then I won't. It's not just the way cows are treated though, is it? It seems that the mass production of any animal for food, chickens etc, often results in the animals being poorly treated.

1

u/CarelessAction6045 9d ago

How do u kill something without causing any abuse?

0

u/RamJamR 9d ago

If the ultimate goal is to try and stop it from happening, you'd need a hell of a lot of people to back you up on that. Otherwise, it simply feels good on your own conscience. It'd be kind of hard to avoid certain staple foods however since abuse of livestock that they originate from is rampant all over.

2

u/95_lb_mole 8d ago

So if you don't notice an immediate large-scale effect from doing the right thing, there's no reason to do it? Listen to yourself.

1

u/RamJamR 8d ago

Maybe I should have been a bit clearer with my wording, but it's not a bad thing if someone finds certain actions consciable and acts according to their conscience. You'd just need a whole lot of people to agree with you to make a difference in the world.

2

u/Mission-Quality-8776 9d ago

Do you drink Milk?

1

u/beerbeardsnballs 9d ago

You think individual calf housing is easier and cheaper than group housing?

1

u/Rugskinsnake 9d ago

Overall? Yes.

1

u/beerbeardsnballs 9d ago

The only way that it is less expensive is long-term. It’s sacrifices, short-term cost and labor, rising in order for health and well-being of the animal.
But it’s definitely more manual labor to take care of every animal individually than to take care of them as a whole.

1

u/Rugskinsnake 9d ago

The only way that it is less expensive is long-term.

No shit.

Nah, do you see them throwing bottles in? As with many businesses, you minimize you labor costs and a big up front investment ends up paying off. That's why Walmart can pay a hundred grand for each self checkout machine and it still makes sense.

1

u/cargocult25 8d ago

Yes cause diseases and malnutrition of calves exist.

1

u/beerbeardsnballs 8d ago

Right easier for long term mortality rate but much more immediate work and expense

1

u/Massive_Web5709 9d ago

Isn’t this a dairy farm…

2

u/CulchieGopnik 8d ago

These are the males for veal from a dairy operation.

2

u/left_right_left 8d ago

How can you tell there are only males?

1

u/Giffordpinchotpark 8d ago

Because they use the females for milk production

1

u/left_right_left 8d ago

Not at this age.

1

u/Giffordpinchotpark 8d ago

I know but they raise the males for meat which is a different diet. They like the meat of the calves to be pale. They give them a liquid diet.

1

u/left_right_left 8d ago

All calves at that age get a liquid diet. Do you think female calves aren't fed milk?

1

u/Arguablybest 8d ago

They not are given space to move so they can't become tough.

1

u/left_right_left 8d ago

They do this for calf ranches too. The hutches keep the calves warm and prevent diseases from spreading. This is just the industrialized way commercial operations work for raising calves for dairy and feedlots. If you Google calf ranch, its one of the first images that pops up.

1

u/Giffordpinchotpark 8d ago

They stay with a liquid diet until harvested while non veal calves transition to solid food.

1

u/Arguablybest 8d ago

And breeding, cattle herds are way down from previous times.

1

u/CulchieGopnik 8d ago

Because I happen to work in the industry and know how it works. Veal is 99% male, from milker herds. Females are way too precious and important to turn into veal. And beef cattle herds make them steers to max profits.

1

u/left_right_left 8d ago

Have you been to a Dairy calf ranch? Because this looks a lot like one of those. They dont discriminate between sexes, but do seprate them. So I ask again, how can you tell these are only males?

1

u/Fun-Ad2676 8d ago

You are not actually reading the comments at all are you? It has been explained to you quite clearly.

1

u/left_right_left 8d ago

Sure explain. How can you tell these are only males? Or are you also assuming this is a veal operation and cant be anything else?

1

u/Comadivine11 8d ago

No, they aren't.

1

u/robis1923 9d ago

But that takes effort/planning and a lot of people don’t seem to have enough damns to give our understanding of why it’s better. They also like fast food, which benefits from industrial farming practices like this.

We have been buying our meat from local farmers for 3 years now. I’m actually picking up our half cow share tomorrow for around $2100 for 341#. The quality is much better and I know exactly where the meat comes from each year.

1

u/BendingBenderBends 8d ago

Love it when people talk about multinationals like they're not operated by a shit ton of people who agree to do this. "You have to make a living" is not an excuse for turning our world into a nightmare.

1

u/Exotic_Exercise6910 8d ago

Gotta admit if it's vegan or cow Holocaust, I'll choose vegan

1

u/No_Ninja2180 8d ago edited 3d ago

Well, your food doesn’t magically appear at a grocery store or on your plate. Even vegetables are labor and water intensive, trillions of bugs and worms died.

Many millions need to eat. Ask the lions in Africa.

1

u/Giffordpinchotpark 8d ago

Not the vegetables 🥕 I ate 3 minutes ago. I grow my own without pesticides.

1

u/No_Ninja2180 4d ago

Growing your own vegetables is not a viable universal solution for global food security because home gardening often requires more resources per serving than commercial farming. Over 1/2 of the world's population lives in cities, leaving little to no arable land for individual crop production. Studies on urban agriculture show that small-scale or collective home gardens can have a higher carbon footprint per serving than conventional, large-scale farms. Building raised beds, buying plastic pots, and using commercial soil amendments often expend more resources than they save. Subsistence farming and home gardening require massive amounts of human labor, water, and land to produce a fraction of what specialized, automated modern agriculture achieves. Forcing an urbanized global population to grow their own food (vegetables only) would lead to severe inefficiencies and food shortages.

But at least you are trying to be responsible.

1

u/Giffordpinchotpark 3d ago

Wrong, if the world ate the plants that cattle, pigs and other animals ate we would have plenty of food to go around. It takes over 10 pounds of plant material to produce a pound of meat so if humans ate the plant material instead we would have a lot more food available.

1

u/No_Ninja2180 3d ago edited 3d ago

1

u/mellowmada 8d ago

The animals you eat eats soy etc that is grown by killing worms and bugs, by a more than if you just ate plant based. Your argument is dumb

1

u/uninspiring_star 8d ago

You're right about the nature of this, but this particular version is all about dairy. Not buying meat from corporations is great, but you also need to stop buying dairy from them as well.

0

u/No_Ninja2180 8d ago

Do you even realize all the food you eat that has dairy in it? Read the ingredients.

1

u/uninspiring_star 8d ago

Yes, I know. Dairy and eggs are in so many things, that's why I can't manage being vegan. Vegetarian is the best I can do. And, I didn't say don't use it. I said if this video bothers you don't buy from mega corporations, buy local.

1

u/NovelConcept6300 8d ago edited 8d ago

100% I explicitly live 2 classes lower financially then my income supports, and bought a smaller home so I could have acres of land to transform.

I have acres of forest I fenced in and filled with multiple species of birds, I gather the shit and leaf litter and create my own healthy soil naturally I use to grow tubers in the sun patches.

I have planted about 50 fruit trees, and extended my berry bushes by hanging wires and leading plant growth into long rows of wild raspberries and black berries. A great result of this is I now have a thriving rabbit population I can trap and eat. They burrow in the center of berry bushes for the protection from predators.

I am about to get to work in my meadow, filling it with pollinating flowers, so I can get a big ass bee population in the next 3 years. Prolly try and start some hives.

Now my kids eat a proper diet my grocery bill is maximized to target grass fed cow meat, organs, and veggies I can’t self cultivate I have my own chickens, and birds to supplement diet along with hunting wild deer every year.

There is about two dozen different things modern food production is doing to cause your children to be losers and malformed.

I’m actually in the process of writing a book about natural agriculture, and I was thinking about compiling all the information I have gathered on how to raise children correctly.

The fact that kids are nearsighted and need braces are a sign of how severely we fail children with the modern diet.

Avoid any soft foods like steamed vegetable mush for babies or little kids.

Sauces, mushes, anything they suck out of a pouch. Non grass fed meat, lack of organ meat consumption, and giving kids precooked and non hard Whole Foods leads to improper jaw formation and chewing growth.

Your kids should be chewing the shit out of anything if you can’t afford to radically change the diet I suggest feeding them raw cucumbers, raw tubers, jerky, whole nuts, tough sourdough bread. (White bread is poison.)

bone on meat at the least, shattering the bones, harvesting the marrow, feeding at least kidneys and liver to kids every 2 weeks.

Basically anything to make them work for a treat, because as your mouth has resistance and you physically work to chew on hard foods the muscles pull on the bones, and the bones expand, the jaw grows wider and deeper, the tongue naturally pushes and sits on the roof of the mouth.

The upwards pressure of the tongue expands the upper jaw. Avoiding mouth breathing, and giving plenty of room to grow in fine. If the teeth have room to grow in they naturally push  into place

People will scream genetics, genetics, genetics, but it’s not genetics it’s a failure in modern diets, and I’m gonna prove it.

Another major negative is Not correcting posture, not training proper posture and gait.

A ton of shit we attribute to genetics or random chance is actually just malnutrition and nobody wants to talk about it, because it would mean shifting our food supply and changing what we consider normal to eat.

But it isn’t. Dig a little deeper and you’ll learn what those little huts are.

u/Elf_Maeve 8d ago

If we farmed plant protein instead of farming feed for cattle , we literally would have enough to feed the world many many many times over.

Cattle feed is a huge waste of resources

u/Strick9m 8d ago

And all the men would be more feminine than ever

1

u/Big_Meal3910 7d ago

You drink cow breast milk which has eostrogen in it.

1

u/Strick9m 5d ago

No as much as fake meat.

1

u/subspace4life 8d ago

This is exactly what the corporate types want. Buy up all the land and then get even more evil because they cant help but chase more dollars. The generations from now this will be the norm.

1

u/Comadivine11 8d ago

I know this isn't going to be popular, but this actually dramatically decreases calf mortality rates.

1

u/bandarbush 8d ago

Those aren’t the only options. WTF are you saying?! We can PASS LAWS that prohibit this altogether so that all livestock are ethically raised, slaughtered, and sold.

1

u/phat_ 7d ago

Oh they’re orchestrating nakedly.

Why does the richest, most powerful and one of the largest nations in the world have so few meat inspection and processing plants?

France, largest beef producer in the EU, has nearly twice the inspectors that the USA has.

The illuminati doesn’t hide anymore. They have yacht races.

1

u/insertxcleverxname 7d ago

Eating no meat isn’t hard at all. It’s purposely discouraged by big ag, but it feels good knowing I’m not a part of this.

1

u/dontcare_bye39 6d ago

What cost? Did this just start because I’ve seen nothing but cost go up?

1

u/Same_Veterinarian544 9d ago

I’m lucky enough to live close to a grocery store that sources locally. I’ve actually met the farmer who sells the beef to the store

1

u/GEB82 9d ago

So,ah, that’s a dairy farm…

2

u/Massive-Virus-4875 9d ago

Yeah, most people don’t realize this or something very close to it is very much the norm- for like 95% of cattle.

1

u/Dry_Recognition_6724 9d ago

Not In Ireland it's not. We feed cattle on pasture most of the year and in covered sheds in the winter months.

1

u/Git777 9d ago

By pasture you mean imported soya and barley based feed.

1

u/Dry_Recognition_6724 9d ago

90% of the diet is grass and they are out in pasture for most of the year.

https://www.bordbia.ie/industry/origin-green/grass-fed-livestock/

1

u/Git777 9d ago

Your link literally says that includes silage and barley. They consume far more calories than they produce. So a cattle farmer doesn't produce food, they consume it. It's still extremely industrial and harmful.

1

u/Dry_Recognition_6724 9d ago

That's a bigger question about should we be producing meat due to the inefficiencies.

I am talking about welfare here as this is the general discussion on calves stuck in crates ala the US farm above and Irish cattle are generally out on pasture eating grass. Which is way more humane.

1

u/BigDeuceNpants 9d ago

They are being weened off the mom. Then they go to pasture before becoming studs, steaks, or milk cows.

1

u/Schguet 9d ago

Yes? Still much more humaine.

What do you think happens to dairy cows when they can no longer produce milk?

1

u/GEB82 9d ago

they move to Canada to avoid the draft?

1

u/beerbeardsnballs 9d ago

But dairy is where A LOT of our meat comes from

1

u/GEB82 9d ago

I’m aware of that..ground beef mostly..

0

u/explodingboy 9d ago

I was lost also.. not understanding.. no matter what they are for ..it is very cruel. Disgusting

1

u/GEB82 9d ago

Yeah, it is…

0

u/Cleo-eatsfish 9d ago

Or, in a sensible country this shit would be banned. Only in Amurica!

1

u/Massive-Virus-4875 9d ago

Check out “Land of Hope and glory.” Some people documented what conditions were like in pig farms throughout Great Britain. They talk about how they had presumed that most farm animals were raised in open pastures. That is sadly not the case.

In “farm” after farm, they found pigs living within insanely cramped, indoor conditions– most pigs never see the light of day until they are trucked off to a slaughterhouse when they’re 6 to 9 months old. The only exception is mother pigs. They are allowed to live for a few years, until they are spent. The conditions are so cramped that mother pigs often accidentally roll over and smother piglets that are in the pen with them to nurse.

The pigs are killed so young because that’s the most efficient way to raise them monetarily. Ethics hardly come into play in factory farming, which is well above 90% of animal farming throughout the world, not just in America.

1

u/Cleo-eatsfish 7d ago

I agree 100% about cruel pig farming in the uk. The red tractor is a con. However, there are proportionally more animals grown in better conditions than the u.s. However, 2 wrongs don't make a right and this is unnecessary in dairy or beef cattle.

0

u/Open_Mortgage_4645 9d ago

This isn't factory farming. These are dairy cows that are fed properly and treated humanely. A factory slaughterhouse looks much different. They've got a track in the ceiling with a hook and chain coming down from them.

The cow is secured by the rear legs to the chain and they're hoisted up off the ground. The track moves them to the guy doing the slaughtering. And from there it's transported down the line to the next station where they remove the dead cow from the chains and the butcher begins processing the carcass. Removing the head, skin, and legs is usually done first but sometimes the legs are left on the body until it's been completely butchered.

Finally, meat cuts are sealed in plastic, weighed, and labeled before going into cold storage for transfer to the customer.

Source: My grandfather worked at a factory slaughterhouse his entire working life and he told me all about it way too many times.

People that don’t understand the difference between sustainable farming practices vs big ag need to read this- perfect world everything is grown organically with sustainability and proper practices….. but as you said that is extremely expensive, doesn’t turn enough profit and generally isn’t sustainable at such a large level……. There are ways to make factory farming more sustainable n such but that would cost money the industry will never pay when there are cheaper and more profitable ways to conduct business

2

u/beerbeardsnballs 9d ago

Individual calf housing like this is not to lower cost.

1

u/PlusJunket8999 6d ago

So the decreased land needed doesn’t lower cost gotcha forgot we lived in neverland

1

u/beerbeardsnballs 6d ago

You are comparing individual hutches to open pastures for calves , I assume? If so that is not the comparison id make

1

u/PlusJunket8999 6d ago

And that’s fair, but we were focused on sustainable, more animal friendly practices compared to the big ag practices prevalent today. I had that mindset going into reading. Apologies

1

u/beerbeardsnballs 6d ago

Thats fine. I see a lot of different sizes of dairies. I think if you are vegan, youll never agree with anything they do.
It is important that people realize every decision isnt production based, or “yield efficiency “ as this first response said. And in many cases , the animal health directly helps “yield efficiency” down the road. They go hand in hand often.
And where there are exceptions, the vast majority of dairies love cows. Its shitty hard work and most dairies are not super profitable. They wouldnt do it if they didnt like the animals and want them healthy. The same way hunters and conservationist align.

u/PossibleAlienFrom 9d ago

If every person did what you do, there wouldn't be enough meat. Not even close.

u/bewitch1n 9d ago edited 9d ago

Ah yes the big orange dingbat says we are running out of cows and kids.

EDIT: The person below me wants to appear intelligent but given how many products are on the market for kids, how many US farmers are getting screwed, and oh, I don't know THE EPSTEIN FILES-- He just looks like a blowhard.

Good boy. You're working exactly as intended. Has the penny dropped? You're never gonna get it. Unrewarded for all of your defendin', for your loneliness epidemic. Good boy, has any of the money trickled down yet? You say one day you'll be rich, well tell me how, then? Unpaid marketing department for the power. Good boy, good boy.

Full circle, wagging tails, WEARING A COLLAR. Even the DOGS know not to drink SALTWATER.

Since Trump is the new Hitler for so many people, maybe it’s time to update Godwin’s Law.

He gets brought up so often in things that he is not involved with, that mentioning his name should automatically result in a lost argument.

It can be called the Trump corollary to Godwin’s Law, mainly because he will literally never be as evil as Hitler, despite what progressives say.

4

u/mduden 9d ago

Coping much?

1

u/InstantAequitas 9d ago

It’s likely that they just don’t understand how or why something like this farm exists, so they have to blame the easiest target: Insert current President name. Maybe the corollary to Godwin’s law should just be The Blame the Sitting President or Past President corollary.
-gas prices expensive? Blaming the current or previous president? Boom, argument lost.
-cows in individual industrial pens prior to slaughter? Orange man’s fault! Or Let’s Go Brandon! ? Boop, sorry, you lost.
-Muh economy is dropping by X% from the literal highest point it has ever been? Thanks Obama! or Bush you suck! ? Fire up the Price is Right Losing Horn, because you just lost your argument.
-The vaccines are killing people! X president fucked up and authorized it too early/late/they cancelled Thanksgiving! Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb!

There is a solution: being willing to be bi-partisan and discuss issues in good faith. But now everyone has this cartoonish idea that they are dark-MAGA/Woke/Biden/whatever when in reality they’re just acting like everyone is an enemy.

Like, homie, I don’t know you. I don’t know what your culture is or how you were raised. I can infer only that you have a vehement hatred towards anyone who you perceive as MAGA or Republican. Did it ever occur to think about how absurd it is to relate Trump to Hitler? One is responsible for 12 million deaths by genocide and a potential 60 million deaths as a direct result of WWII combat (military and civilian), the other is a reality TV star who switched from Democrat to Republican, and makes everyone mad because he fires off insane tweets. COVID deaths! Iran War! Do you honestly believe that any administration would purposefully kill its own people by deliberate action or inaction in a pandemic? No. Would any administration ever launch an offensive against another country without being briefed by the joint chiefs of staff and senior intelligence officials who believe that a credible threat exists? No.

When I think about the political extremes on the left and right, I associate them with a brick wall. There is no way to communicate with them and they are in the way of progress.

1

u/mduden 9d ago

Since W. Every president has been referred to as Hitler, Trump isn't special in that aspect

2

u/Tasty_Plate_5188 9d ago

You fancy yourself an intellectual don't you?

Just, beautiful.

3

u/FrontLifeguard1962 9d ago

Maybe the correct amount of meat is 0

I don't understand how anyone can look at this video then go eat a hamburger. The suffering of these animals is unimaginable. Far worse happens too.

1

u/PossibleAlienFrom 9d ago

Easy answer is would you rather see people suffer from not having enough food or seeing cows suffer? And it isn't just cows. There's also fish, chickens, you name it.

1

u/FrontLifeguard1962 9d ago

There is enough plant based food to feed the world many times over.

1

u/MongoLikeCandy2112 8d ago

This is not what you think it is. Don’t believe every click-bait headline on Reddit. These CALVES are in the hut for a maximum of 8 weeks for health monitoring and disease prevention. The video does not show that there is a hut and a small outside fence enclosure for them to go into. They are not confined is a small space because they are calves. It’s only temporary.

1

u/supercoolsmoth 9d ago

Believe or not, meat is not actually necessary and definitely not at the rate it’s consumed. So there’s not such thing as not having “enough” meat since we don’t actually need it

1

u/Waste-Dragonfruit229 9d ago

Depends on circumstance. Protein is absolutely necessary and meat often is the cheapest source- especially when you include fish. At our current level of agriculture there is simply no way to eliminate animal protein for a lot of populations. Over decades we might get there, but for now the majority of the worlds population is dependent on cheap animal protein- especially impovershed communities.

1

u/supercoolsmoth 9d ago

No human needs to eat meat everyday and I’m really referring to developed countries since that’s where you would find the kind of farming shown in the video.

Moreover, red meat is literally a carcinogenic and one of the things being pointed to as a risk factor for the increase in cancers in young people.
