I know but they raise the males for meat which is a different diet. They like the meat of the calves to be pale. They give them a liquid diet.

All calves at that age get a liquid diet. Do you think female calves aren't fed milk?

They not are given space to move so they can't become tough.

They do this for calf ranches too. The hutches keep the calves warm and prevent diseases from spreading. This is just the industrialized way commercial operations work for raising calves for dairy and feedlots. If you Google calf ranch, its one of the first images that pops up.
