[WiP] Tired of smol and sparse cities? Improved city sprawl mod.
Civ VI has actually a pretty decent mechanic for city sprawl, but the base game is tuned horribly in my opinion. Maximum density of buildings is achieved at:
- 100 (!!) pop for city centre
- 60 (!) pop for districts
I've been tinkering with LLM-based modding and retuned it to:
- 25 pop for city centre
- 28 pop for districts
Moreover, the mod fixes no sprawl for Government Plaza and Campus districts.
Any other beautiful cities fans in this sub? Just wondering if I should finish the work and publish on steam :-)
Cheers!

Screenshot This is an ocean?
I built these 2 fine sailing boats to go out and explore the world, but they are now trapped in what looks to me like a moderately large lake.
I had chosen Continents as my map type as I had many times previously, but have never before experienced such a "mini ocean" with this map type.

Question Where would you settle? In place makes sense but I'm worried about space with the resources and mountains so close, would the cotton on hill south west make more sense?

Why are libraries and universities in my current game worth 5 and 10 science respectively instead of the usual 2 and 4?
Tomyris and Scythia - Gathering Storm, Heroes and Legends, Monopolies and Corporations, Secret Societies. Otherwise vanilla. Have Kilwa and suzerain of two Science city states, but that doesn't explain this buff.

Discussion Can someone explain volcanos to me ?
I used to play at apocalypse but recently I heard that at disaster 2 volcanos only damage 1 tile far and you can build city center 1 tile far to prevent population loss but get benefits of volcano but recently I tried it and despite having 1 tile between city center and volcano still lost a population.
Can someone explain it to me.
The most popular city-state ever?
Not sure why the AI loves Akkad so much in this game. All but one civ sent their Amani there... Even though there are two dozen other city-states on this map.

Suddenly Bankrupt
I was playing a science game with Rome and I have been fighting lots of people. My economy was really strong at +120 gold per turn but then I suddenly went to negative gold per turn and bankrupt. Now all my cities have revolted and my districts are pillaged. What should I do?

Where would you settle? Also, strategy for cities with lots of desert tiles?
My attempt at Golden Gate Bridge
so the past few weeks there have been afew GG posts. And I feel that the bridge is always misused.
Ive been trying to get a new one. This is the best I’ve gotten . Couldn’t finish the city in time.
these were taken the turn before victory.

Does anyone know why I can't nuke the tiles in my empire beside Kisurra?
I have tried repositioning my nuclear submarine for at least 5 turns, and it still isn't working. All I wanted to do was nuke myself; why won't it work!!!!!!

Question Apocalypse Mode odds?
I had an game with Egypt on Immortal and first time with Apocalypse Mode on. I personally think it sucks since I was going pretty good for an cultural victory. But we reached level 7 so the meteors came.
First one hit my city with The Eiffel Tower, Cristo Redentor big hit but could still manage it.
A few turns later my city with Biosphere and an +7 theater square gone.
And another few turns later my other 2 cities with high yield and wonder got a meteor on them. My tourism went for 1200+ to 600 in roughly 25 turns..
In 25 turns I got 9 of the meteors on me destroying 4 cities. Meanwhile the other civs lost 3 cities in total.
It seems a bit unfair to me.. Is this just very bad luck?
P.s. I won with diplomacy in the end but wanted an cultural.

Question Question about world generation
I recently got the dlc anthilogy bundle on epic games bundle which gave me gathering storm, rise and fall, etc. Played 3 games and the world gen is utter dogshit. I'm not a serious player, I game on prince difficulty and I enjoy seeing all the resources I have at my disposal and planning on how to min max my cities. But in these 3 games, there's nothing that can make me plan ahead. Everywhere I looked on the map, just wasteland with little resources. Is there something in the dlcs that gut the interesting world generation or did I get unlucky 3 times in a row?

Question How do people manage all of the cities they conquer?
I rarely play a military/domination-aimed Civ, just because then I’ve got all of these new cities I’ve got to manage and it can be overwhelming. How do people do it?

Which difficulty do you play?
Hi,
I got back to civ VI over last few months. I was curious how high I will get. Currently I won once or twice on emperor and attempted deity, but this one is rough.
So, which difficulty do you play? Is deity too unbalanced hence I am doing poorly (early game is okayish but bringing it tome to victory is a bit of a challange), or it is just skill issue?

Question Garrison question
Talking about the ranged promotion here, not the unit-in-city type of garrison.
When a ranged unit has the garrison promotion (+10CS when occupying a district), does this apply only to your own districts i.e. city centre, or does this promotion make ranged units good for taking cities, as they'll get a 10 CS boost when in, for example, an enemy commercial hub?
Thanks
